Alex Lavigne would always be the one who got away. Now 10 years later, Lena's dreams are haunted by x-rated fantasies starring the sexy hunk who has since become lead guitarist for the wildly popular band, Cold Fusion.
Alex's world is turned upside down...
When Lena reenters his life, she rocks his whole world. He'll do whatever it takes to hold onto her.
Together...
Their passions explode beyond their most wicked imaginings. But is that enough to overcome the many obstacles standing in their way?
Warning: This book is for mature audiences only! It contains very explicit descriptions of sex and sexual acts.
Arabella Quinn gave up a demanding career to become a stay at home mom. Ten years later, she is the proud mom of three very smart and energetic kids. When she feared her mind was beginning to turn to mush, she took up writing fiction as a hobby. She writes what she loves to read best: erotic romance and erotica.
Arabella is a beach girl at heart. Her favorite place in the whole world is Maui, Hawaii. Since she hasn’t been able to get back there, you can often find her writing on the beautiful beaches of the Outer Banks in North Carolina.
2,5 Stars This was a short, cute read. Nothing special at all.. Filled with good sex scenes, but underdeveloped and disjoint.
Alex and Lena were very good friends when they were studying at college, but they lost contact right after. An erotic undercurrent was always present but never explored between them, after many years he became a rock star and she has a stable 9 to 5 job. When they happen to see each other again, they want to give their relationship a chance.
The main story was interesting and it could be a full length book easily, but the characters were a bit cold and unattached, i couldn't really connect with them at all. The plot devices that the author used were pointless and common..
THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK
- The intro with the dream was very nicely done.. - I liked Tommy.. - Melissa was a great friend..
3.75 stars. This was an extremely short book and I enjoyed it but it was very rushed. It had to be for the length it was. I liked it but not sure I'm interested in continuing the series. Maybe later or when all I have time for it a fast read.
This book is one of those ones that I really wanted to like. I REALLY wanted to... but not so much. I felt a little like I was reading a YA novel about a summer romance instead of a book about a rocker and his long lost college love. It felt too much like romantic infatuation and impulsivity that you would expect of a sixteen year old instead of an emotionally mature adult.
It's a shitload of will she/he won't she/he and she/he can't really like me for me. Neither of them has an ounce of confidence, sense, emotional maturity or rational to survive a few weeks apart and a good part of the book reads like the journal of an adolescent told they have less than a week to live.
Sadly, I bought all three of these books on recommendation of a friend at once and having spent the money I feel honor bound to read the other two. My expectation level is quite low.
Whoa there! That was some steamy stuff... right on my personal borderline of pornish things. Don't get all in a huff... nothing wrong with a little pornish reading now and then. Not a bad book, though it was pretty short, so you get more action than character development, but that's typical of a shorter story. I liked that Alex was still able to be goofy despite his fame, and I didn't want to punch Lena (I usually end up wanting to beat up the stupid whiny girls who can't handle hanging with the rock stars). She manned-up and dealt with the chaos without freaking out (too much). And then of course, there was the conflict that sent her running... but was resolved fairly quickly.
I'm really ruined when it comes to rock romances, so I'm super picky, but all in all... pretty good read.
I admit I read these out of order. I started with 3 before realizing it was part of a series so I headed back to 1. For me, 3 was by far the best. Rock Me: Wicked was the first in a series. It starts with Alex and Lena who haven't seen each other since college. They find their way back to each other just to discover that there are lots of roadblocks in the way.
I think because I started with the third (and so far best for me) this one was just alright. I found my hopes pretty high and this was although, it was good it wasn't my favorite. I really liked the characters. I just kind of wish there was more of a confrontation with Cassie. Ah, well. Maybe next time.
Alex was Lena's college crush that never went past the best buds stage. They were always attracted to each other but the stars never aligned for them to explore it further before losing contact. Fast forward years later and now Alex is the rockstar she used to know when, but can't get out of her head. They reunite backstage when he plays in her town and find their chemistry still sizzles. This was a fun sexy read that didn't make me think too hard. 3 1/2 stars
But way too much sex and not enough story. The end was a drop off. I thought he fell a sleep and Cassie crawled into bed with him. It says he was asleep. Then I thought I would get an explanation of what actually happened although he made it sound like he was with her. Wouldn't he have known what he did when he woke up with that girl? Also the story has errors when reading a sentence you find it talking like 2 people are doing the descriptions. You really need to read your book. I hope the rest don't drop off at the end like this one its a real disappointment.
This one was a lot of fun. And quite steamy! Good descriptions of concert experiences, which was excellent, and a good love (and sex!) story. I wasn't sure at first what I thought of the 1st person viewpoint for her and the 3rd person for him, as it jarred me from the story for a minute, but as the story went along, it didn't bother me at all. It was interesting to read about how their relationship blossomed in the present and failed to blossom in the past. An excellent erotic romance! I recommend it!
This book ended and I had to ask myself if it was a mistake. Had I missed something, but no it just abruptly ended. It just ended and no closure on a main part of the story. The book had potential. It was not well edited. Some parts were thrown in there as it read in third person. Which was weird. And one part the characters name was wrong. I have read other books but this books was just disappointing.
Not particularly original. Two people who had been best friends in college were apparently secretly in love with each other. No communication whatsoever for ten years. She attends a concert where he is performing and manages to get backstage. He immediately recognizes her and their mutual passion reignites. One tiny blip in their relationship and its HEA from that point forward.
Oh yeah, I just remembered that Alex had been a typical rock star man whore, especially with one skank who kept taunting Lena. Alex and Lena have sex almost immediately and not one word is said about STDs or the wisdom of using a condom.
It was great but I want more of the story I know there more books in the series but it’s not about Alex and Lena it’s about his band mates I’m hoping we get more from them cause I want to know what happens in their relationship and I will be reading the rest of the series it find out. I will write reviews on those books too.
Nice second chance story of Lena and Alex. Best friends in college. Lose touch for 10 yrs. Alex is a rock star now. Lena goes to his concert. They fall back in love. Short sweet story with a little bit of angst.
I liked both of them but really would have read Alex's view when he woke up? Cassie was gone? How did he know he messed up? It was a nice story some stuff from other books were the same but I really liked the main characters. Sadly it wasn't long enough.
Alex and Lena were meant to be. I wish book had gone longer to see what happened with these 2 in the future. Interesting characters throughout story. Quite a few grammatical issues throughout entire book is why I didn't rate the book higher.
It has been a little while since I have had the time to sit down and actually read so I was looking for something short and sweet. I love anything to do with rock stars so I decided to give this one a try. It was my first Arabella Quinn book so I didn't know what to expect. The story itself was good but I would have loved to see more of Lena and Alex's past to get more of the sizzling chemistry they showed later in the story. We just got snippets here and there but it wasn't enough. The story moved pretty quickly so I felt a lot was left out. But I did enjoy it nonetheless. I can't wait to learn more about the members of Cold Fusion but I sure hope we do get more of this couple as well because this book doesn't seem finished.
Thank you Ms. Quinn for peaking my interest....I look forward to more in this series from you. ;)
