When Silas investigates a case of intellectual property theft, he has too much of everything. Too many suspects. Too many distractions. Too many feelings.
Circuitry Innovations of Dallas has developed a new type of semiconductor. Sales are pouring in, but when the CEO learns a Chinese tech company in Shanghai has an identical product, he hires Silas, head of operations for Discreet Corporate Security Systems, to investigate. However, it proves to be a daunting task for a number of reasons. Primarily, because there are . . .
Too many suspects . . . Silas determines there are several employees at Circuitry Innovations who could be responsible for selling the company’s trade secrets to the Chinese, but it's also possible the company’s proprietary data was stolen due to a breach in their security system. Then, there’s the businessman who discovered the theft. Could he be the guilty party?
Too many distractions . . . As Silas begins the investigation, not only does he discover he’s being followed, his college-age daughter, who’s home for Christmas, is giving him advice about his love life, and the energetic puppy he recently adopted is proving more time-consuming than he anticipated.
Too many feelings . . . In trying to cope with spending his first Christmas without his wife, Silas realizes he’s become emotionally attached to a colleague he’s mentoring. As he tries to sort out his feelings for her, he’s also concerned about his daughter. Is the man she’s fallen in love with good enough for her?
While Silas is sifting through the suspects, handling the distractions, and dealing with his feelings, he suddenly crosses paths with a killer, a man who’ll stop at nothing to achieve his objective. Can Silas trust God when faced with his greatest challenge? Will his prayers for wisdom be answered?
Three Confess is an inspiring, suspenseful read from USA Today bestselling author, Luana Ehrlich. Luana Ehrlich is a USA Today bestselling author, known for her award-winning Titus Ray Thrillers, Mylas Grey Mysteries, and Silas McKay Suspense. Her novels are clean reads with intriguing plots, fascinating characters, jaw-dropping twists, and occasional touches of humor and heart-warming romance.
Although she developed her passion for spy thrillers and mystery novels at an early age, she didn’t write her first novel until her husband retired from the ministry. Now, she writes from an undisclosed location, trying to avoid the torture of mundane housework, grocery shopping, and golf stories. However, she occasionally comes out of hiding to visit with her two grandsons or to enjoy a Starbucks caramel macchiato.
Luana and her husband, former missionaries to Costa Rica and Venezuela, are now residents of Norman, Oklahoma. Email her at author@luanaehrlich.com. She loves to hear from her readers!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 Another good Silas McKay story. I’m going to miss this series. They go fast, clean, one kiss in the whole series, great mysteries, great characters.
This one, although good, was a tad less interesting to me. Corporate espionage isn’t as much fun as seeing where Silas's relationship with Ashley might be going. She wasn’t included in this story enough to my liking. Not as much of a faith arc, but still, Silas's integrity and relationship with The Lord was evident.
All in all, a satisfying ending to a really good series.
Excellent story line that is hard to put down. Clean with good Christian values throughout. Silas is recently widowed and work is his outlet. He has a close friendship with some of his colleagues including new intern Ashley. Action, suspense and a deepening friendship as the case is investigated and pursued about intellectual property theft with a Chinese company and the danger faced by those involved.
This book has a complicated, somewhat technical plot, but Ehrlich does a good job on keeping it understandable for those who are not techies. The personal relationships are handled well, and I liked getting to know more about the main characters who keep re-appearing. The new puppy is a fun addition! I look forward to more in this series.
Luana Ehrlich has become one of my favorite authors over the last year or two. Her primary characters become friends, but the villains are dispictiable. I appreciate her way of incorporating God's truth into her various stories.
Chinese Interests At Play in The USA This is the third book in a series that revolves around a discrete security company located in Dallas, Texas. In this episode, the company is investigating for a semiconductor company that thinks their corporate secrets and research have been leaked to the Chinese government. This story has enough moving pieces to keep the reader on his toes. As always, the story is clean with no foul language, minimal violence, no gore, and no intimacy. The story is also Christ-filled in a practical manner, not in a 'hit you in the forehead with the Bible' manner. I have been reading this series in sequence and plan to continue that now.
Silas faces many challenges with this case. The suspects involved think they are quite clever but Silas' team of tech people can find out who's who & what is what given enough time. The other aspect of this story is his love interest & his daughter with her new boyfriend. So Silas is torn on three fronts. I continue to enjoy how he & his work friends solve the mystery. I very much enjoy Mr. Lennon's voice too. It would help distinguish who is speaking if his voice was a little different for male & female characters. I was given a free audible copy by the author. I choose to write this review.
Enrich is a consistent author that turns out thrilling, fast paced suspense stories clean enough for young teens through adults. Silas finds the most difficult situation a case can place him in and still comes out on top. The writer writes with imagination, fleshes out her characters while adding atmosphere enough so the page turning story is played out in full color in the reader's mind. Though free by promotion I truly highly recommend this book and series for teens and adults.
I've read Books 1 and 2 and now Book 3, with each consecutive book being even better than the previous book! Book 3 is really hard to put down. The story draws you in! And the Inspirational part is woven into every of the book. The suspense is well written. The romance? Keep reading!!! This book is wonderful! Come along with me to Book 4!
This was the first Files McKay book I've read, so I had no idea he was part of a security firm. The plot seemed plausible, even likely. The setting and characters were good, except I wanted to know more about Marissa's boyfriend, Gabe, after the day he handled himself in such a tense situation. Hopefully, he'll show up again and we'll learn more about him.
This is a wonderful Christian suspense with great characters and a lot going on. Clean story with good Christian values woven into daily life throughout the book. It’s an interesting plot with plenty to entertain. The new puppy for Christmas is smart and happens to be a great addition to the team. I thoroughly enjoyed the well-narrated audiobook. Highly recommend
I have read all of her books, and this one was rather disappointing. I got lost in a lot of the details. The characters did not really seem to come alive as in the other series…
In this episode of Silas McKay's exciting life Luana weaves a suspenseful tale of a spy thriller with lots of turns and twists. Enjoy this new story from Luana Ehrlick.
I really enjoyed this book so much. I listened to it as an audiobook and the narrator really brought the book to life. I have enjoyed the whole series and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. A very good story and I loved it. This book is Christian and clean.
I love this book, the third in the series. It has the wonderful, interesting characters from the security firm, and really entertaining suspense with some great action. I love that God is included in their lives and in this book. Very enjoyable book!
Silas McKay is an interesting character. The supporting cast is just as fascinating. Ehrlich really makes her characters come alive. This storyline was great, very intricate. I love the procedures outlined to get the perpetrators. Can't wait to start Four Doubt.
Heart pounding tension explodes at the ending but before that this whole story of the Chinese stealing secrets from an American firm and Silas McKay and his crew catching them is so exciting. Speaking of heart pounding…Silas and Ashley…oh this is so good.
I listened to the audio and enjoyed the narrator. This series reads a lot like episodes in a favorite TV series! An enjoyable read searching out corporate espionage.
*note - would recommend reading this series in order
This third installment in the Silas McKay series was a wonderful read. It had a great story plot and was suspenseful. The author does a wonderful job explaining the technical jargon without detracting from the story line. I enjoyed the main characters and the new puppy and hope that Silas, a widower, is ready to move on from the death of his wife and enter a new romance.
Intrigue and excitement. Thrillingly written and thoroughly enjoyable. Characters were well represented and “played well with each other”! Hope there’ll be Book 4.
I have read all her books and they never disappoint. They are well thought out and well written. They keep you in suspense til the end. Can't wait for the next one.
This is a great, clean mystery series. Silas finally admitted to having feelings for Ashley. Happy New Year! They also figured out who was leaking information.
Another great read from Ehrlich! I read these when I need an nice escape. She is the master of adding quips and that make me chuckle. They never cease to be engaging.
On a trip to China, Dallas business executive Hank Henderson learns that a Chinese tech company is implementing technology just developed by a Dallas firm. He suspects that someone in Dallas has sold some trade secrets to the China and brings the matter to the attention of private security firm DCSS (Discreet Corporate Security Services).
DCCS head of operations Silas McKay takes up the case right before Christmas, shaking up his plans to spend lots of time with his daughter, who has come home from college for Christmas break. On the other hand, the case gives him more opportunities to work with intern Ashley Davenport.
This is a fast-moving story with an exciting finish.
