How to Heal a Grieving Heart

Rate this book
When you’re grieving, you need support and solace, and this book provides practical and spiritual help. Each page contains a healing message to help you come to terms with your loss. The content is simple and direct, because the authors know and respect that grieving people often have difficulty concentrating and following through on what they read. You can open up to a random page, designed with beautiful colors and lettering, and meditate upon the entry. Doreen Virtue and James Van Praagh wrote the book that they wished they could have had when they were both grieving losses. Based upon their years of experience as grief counselors and mediums, Doreen and James have created a gentle book that is a perfect gift to yourself or a friend in need of comfort.

Please do not buy my old books or cards, as I have repented and denounced them after Jesus saved me and opened my eyes to new age deception.

Here is my testimony of why I left the new age to follow Jesus: https://youtu.be/zZSH8mvIbdk

How to Heal A Grieving Heart
By Doreen Virtue, James Van Praagh

It Is Difficult to Express Sincere Sympathy, Give this Gift to Show the Way!

Everyone will know grief at some time in their life. This beautiful book is the answer for people that want to show support but aren’t sure how. It is meant for the person who is grieving to open to any page, as the Spirit will guide them to what they precisely need. It is not a narrative with chapters of advice, but a collection of thoughts on handling the grieving process. It is meant as comfort for those open to its message. It is meant as a bridge to allow the emotions that need to be felt, with assurances of a tomorrow.

Each page is grace, a meditation of peace captured in stunning pictures. There is a short passage on each page with an intention behind each word. Poetic and Spiritual advice to help those in grief see there is a way to get through the difficult time. The beauty of the pictures and the soothing expressions are meant as a balm to the soul.

Though this book is intended for those grieving a death, grief is felt for the loss of many things; a divorce, a relationship, a job, a way of life. This book’s messages can be adapted in the healing of any grief, no matter the cause.

Doreen Virtue and James Van Praagh come together to give the world their combined healing wisdom in this inspirational book. Truly a gift worth giving!

This is brief book but so helpful. There are short readings and a beautiful nature picture on every page. The readings are very hopeful and soothing, letting us know that our loved one is not gone but on another plane of existence. I will be dipping into this charming little book for a long time and recommend it to others who are enduring a loss of a loved one.

Heavenly

I absolutely loved this book. It completely describes my grief and the experiences I have had since my Dad died in August. This book helped me validate the signs as communication from my Dad...in turn, helps me heal and grow through my grief.

Thank you, this book came to me when I needed it. My family has always been sensitive but I blocked myself off after my fathers passing in December. Right at the beginning of the month he fell and I had felt a lot of blame on myself of what if's and what I could of done better etc. Which you talk about in the book. I did read the whole book but before I did I sat back and let the book fall where it may. The pages it fell to where ones I needed to hear. It was like my father was telling me it was ok all of it are ok and thank you for the care you gave me when I was ill and transitioning to my passing. I miss him dearly but it also gave me a different way to look at things to help. Christmas this 2018 will be harder as it will be one year shortly before and it did bring up memories like you said in the book of unhealed pains from previous deaths. My grandfather aka my Dad's father passed after Christmas so they were so close together before and after that my brain shut off all emotions in morning and was constantly crying till some of the pages you have in the book made me feel like my father was talking to me. My father was a fan of James Van Praagh
so I picked up the book to out

I found this book to be helpful in terms of my familial losses but it would have had a bigger impact if I read this in the immediate aftermath of my losses. The short passages are short which is great for distracted, grieving minds. I found that reading a passage a day was the most digestible approach, allowing me read at my own pace. For anyone grappling with the immediate aftermath of death, I recommend this book—the passages are a source of comfort, empathy, relatability, and invaluable guidance.

I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my copy of “How To Heal A Grieving Heart” by Doreen Virtue and James Van Praagh. I was expecting to read a typical narrative on death and grief. To my delight this lovely little book is written in a way that allows you open to any page and begin reading. Each concept is contained on one page in easy to understand words accompanied by colorful graphics. The advice is practical and words comforting. Sometimes it’s difficult to find the right words to comfort a friend or family member that is grieving from loss of a loved one; this book fills that void and is perfect to give as a gift. The flip format also is useful for asking for messages from spirit. In fact, I think that this book is great for anyone feeling down or going through a difficult period in life whether they have lost someone to death or not. On a personal note … I had intended to read this book strictly for review but as the universe works in mysterious ways … the day after I finished reading it I was introduced to a couple grieving the loss of their son and I realized where the book was intended to go. I received my copy from Hay House for review purposes and was not financially compensated for this review. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

A good book of minute meditations for someone dealing with grief. The authors suggest letting it fall open to a page rather than reading it straight through. The book is written from a fairly traditional Christian view of heaven: Jesus is mentioned twice. While room is left for incarnation, that is not the dominant feel of the book. As someone who had a stillbirth, I would not recommend this to a bereaved parent who has lost a young child as there are many meditations that focus on memories, something parents of babies don't have many of. There are many other worthy meditations for any kind of grief, though, not just loss through death.

I received this advance kindle copy from NetGalley & Hay House Inc. in exchange for an honest review.

This is a beautiful book that can be read from cover to cover or opened at random to find comforting words of solace and inspiration especially...but not exclusively...in times of grief and sadness.
The beautifully chosen pictures complement the sentiments and add a real sense of peace and calm to the reader.

This book would be a lovely special gift to one who is grieving or sad.

I would definitely recommend it. 5*s
