The heroine is an Arkansas farmgirl who finds fame on Broadway after a stint in vaudeville. Her notoriety increases after she's named in a divorce suit and embarks for Hollywood. Her troubles don't end there, as she is accused of murder and gets involved in the dark side of Hollywood.
