This is the nineth story in the multi-author series, Honky Tonk Hearts.
While shooting pool at the Lonesome Steer Honky Tonk, rancher Tyler Desmond takes an errant dart in the neck. Ready to retaliate, he's instead captivated by the blonde who threw it. Tyler isn't interested in opening his heart, so why does he kiss the verbal buzz saw? Just to shut her up?
As a teenager, Lacy LaRoche had a secret crush on Tyler. When the dart brings them face-to-face, all she can do is chatter--until he kisses her. But Lacy didn't come back to Texas to fall in love. She's hiding another secret: her roommate surreptitiously videotaped Lacy undressing and posted it on the internet.
When Tyler's daughter is bullied at school, Lacy must reveal the truth and face the emotional damage of cyberbullying. Over-protective of his daughter--and his heart--Tyler must learn to trust again. Can two scarred hearts find their way back to where they belong?

I chose to read Back Where you Belong based on the series title. I like a little Honky Tonk music myself every now and then. So this sounded like a fun book to read. I was not disappointed at all, I really enjoyed this story.
When Lacy LaRoche and Tyler Desmond meet again, the scene is quite a comical. I laughed so hard reading this part of the story. Lacy thinks she is in for a butt chewing but it turns into one heck of a kiss! I really enjoyed watching these two get to know each other again. They both have things from their past that makes them a bit hesitant to enter into a relationship. However they just can’t quite help themselves. They are very attracted to each other.
I loved how Tyler’s daughter tried to help the situation along. It’s not very often you see a teenage daughter trying to help her father with dating advice. I thought this was so adorable and such a wonderful addition to the story.
There are a few twist and turns that appear that put a major strain on Lacy & Tyler relationship. Is this new relationship strong enough to get through these through hurdles?
I also liked that Ms. Davis covered a major subject. She showed us some issues of being bullied and how it effects the lives of the people on the receiving end. It is so sad that so much of that happens now days. I was glad to see Ms. Davis cover that issue in this story. I hope this sheds a little more light on the problem and helps some people in these situations.
There was plenty of romance, drama, and twist and turns to keep me turning the pages. I know I would certainly enjoy reading more work by Vonnie Davis.
Back Where You Belong in the Honky Tonk Hearts series is funny, moves along at a good pace and packs a punch when it addresses one of the major problems in our schools nationwide today. It started with the Dart Demon incident to bull riding at the rodeo ~ with Tyler's accident getting off the bull to the fun of breakfast with hot maple syrup to taking two teenage girls shopping and to a vampire movie to keep the cowboy on his toes. On the serious side the issue of bullying was addressed with the offer of some solutions to help kids in schools deal with bullies in a positive manner and not let the bully make them feel bad. Back Where You Belong was fun and funny, serious and gave good ideas how to solve problems for our schools. Tyler hardly knew what hit him as he learned to listen to Olivia (his teenage daughter) and found a woman to keep warm and happy that would keep him the same way for the rest of his life.
I can't get enough of this author's writing. This is the second story by Ms. Davis in the Honky Tonk series, (her first being, 'Those Violet Eyes') and I was reluctant to imagine new characters in this world she'd created, thinking they couldn't possibly measure up to Evie and Win - but OH, my gosh! I was wrong. Of course I was. I should know better by now, being a devoted fan of this amazing writer. She has never let me down. Lacy and Tyler ruled the page and captured my heart. I NEEDED these two to find their way to each other and raced my way through the book to make sure they did. There were some hysterical moments which had me giggling like a schoolgirl. Thank you so much for the most wonderful of stories, Ms. Davis and keep them coming! You can't write them quickly enough for me.
Lacy and Tyler have broken pasts. Each with a story of pain and suffering. Lacy had a heart wrenching escapade in college and ran back home to escape the bullies. Tyler's wife had an affair and ran off leaving him and their daughter.
Both struggling to accept and recover from their pasts they collide when Olivia, his daughter, confides in Lacy about being bullied at school. Tyler is enraged feeling Lacy is trying to steal his little girl away.
They argue and hurtful things are said. Will their pasts prevent them from a future together?
You will laugh, cry, swear at telling characters and be left with a heart warming glow
Sizzling Suspense Paige is a successful photographer and Justin a brilliant detective, but their backgrounds doom a relationship. What’s more, a friend of Paige’s has died and someone is out to kill her, yet Justin hasn’t a clue how to solve the crime or keep her safe. The question remains, what will they have to give up of their pasts in order to solve crimes as well as learn how to love? Sarah Grimm knows how to keep the reader guessing in this fast-paced novel. Not Without Risk is a sizzler both as a suspense and as a romance…a great read!
I laughed so hard while reading this book that I was almost crying. Lacy is a barrel of laughs. Her nervous chatter cracked me up. I was sure glad she didn’t have any dark secrets, she surely would’ve told all as soon as Tyler stepped in the room. I love that she’s been in love with him since she was a teenager and didn’t even realize it was him in the bar. To read my full review, click here: http://wp.me/p3a6Qw-5z
A cute, short, sexy, fun read with such lovable characters. I loved the way that Vonnie addressed the very real issue of bullying in this book. The first book in the series is still my favorite (Those Violet Eyes) but that is only because of Win!!! Win *sigh* 4 out of 5 rating!! I am so hoping for more in this series.
Once again Vonnie does not disappoint! Great back story on both lead characters and plenty of humor to break up the heaviness of the turmoil both characters deal with daily. A dart is thrown, an inadvertant target is hit and sparks fly! Who knew a dart could be just as potent as cupid's arrow! A wonderful love story!
Take one hot cowboy and one curvy female who can't throw a dart to save her life and you've got a steamy little romance that will have you hooked from page one. Ms. Davis really delivers the goods in this one. I highly recommend BACK WHERE YOU BELONG.
This started out so funny. But ended on a somber tone. Not bad but made me remember my school years. Glad this story has been addressed. Still enjoyed the story line. Will be re-reading it again in the future. Thanks for writing it.
