Dire « je t'aime » avec des dahlias, exprimer sa féminité avec un brin de mimosa, souhaiter la prospérité avec un bouquet de pivoines. Un ravissant album de quatre-vingts fleurs pour manier le langage des fleurs.
Overall I can’t complain about this book. It’s exactly what you except, it’s an easy read that you can just pick up and put down at any point filled with knowledge about a plethora of different flowers.
The format of this book is quite engaging. For this kind of book I find it particularly pleasing to have the same format copy and pasted every two pages( on the left page the name of the flower with its history and on the right a depiction of said flower)
I chose to read this book in the mornings for a few minutes before I started my day and went through it without noticing. Accumulating knowledge on diverse flowers as I went. The text feels almost poetic in it’s simplistic yet rich structure.
This book does a nice job at trying to include the significance of each flower from a multitude of different cultures in a short amount of space. Including stories from mythology, religion and history.
Honeslty if you are a fan of flowers and want to learn a little more about them I would recommend this book, however I do think that there are many books that would do a very similar job. I don’t know if I would class this one as particularly unique but I also haven’t read a multitude of books on flowers.
