No. Non. Nein. Naaaaaah. Nahi. Illa. Nope. Not happening. Never.

Oh, where, oh where do I start? I wouldn't be satisfied giving this book fucking zero stars! So, one of them ridiculously hot mercenary guys, black ops or whatever has to investigate this feisty, charming, and of course utterly and completely gorgeous woman who owns an antique shop or something, because her brother , who is a pilot, is supposedly a mole in the DEA, selling drugs to teens that cause hallucinations, and ultimately death. Yeah, yeah, the plot sounds like a complex motherfucker; the only fucking that happened, though, of course, other than inside my mind, was between Josh and Trish.

So Trish is this recovering alcoholic, who's also the owner of some antique store. She's some self-proclaimed expert in 15th century history or something, who's participating in some reality show about antiques, and winning the show would propel her shop to the pinnacle of antique shops or something. She needs this expert on antiques as a celebrity guest to win the show. I mean, what? At this point, I stopped taking the book seriously. She's made to attend benefits and all that, and who should volunteer as her date but supa stuuuuuud Josh? It gets worse. So they just met that day, and by the end of the day, they've already made out a few times, he's had like 6 erections, and they've come about ye close to doin' the naughty. And this chick has a stalker mind you, and she's sworn off guys, because the last one she was with beat the hell out her. Yeah, super smart, that one, I tell you. Because if you have blond hair, and a chiseled chin, and "cobalt-blue" eyes (duh!), who cares? Go ride that all you want, love. Trish is so, so dumb! She's dumber than a pile of rocks. She has no idea what she's doing, and yet she refuses to ask for help, because she wants to be mature and grown up. Did no one tell you, love? Part of growing up is knowing when you should accept defeat and ask for help. She's also the most naive, trusting buffoon. She'd trust freaking Pennywise the Dancing Clown if he came up to her and said, "hey, I'm harmless". Yeah, no hope for that one. She's the kind of character that dies in a horror movie because she is, for lack of a better word, a dumb fuck. It's like she sold her brain for her sobriety or something. Her stupidity makes my head hurt.

Josh is no less; it's worse because he's an operative or agent or something, but all he cares about are, in this order, Fucking Trish, extracting revenge on the guy that killed his ex-fuck buddy, fucking Trish, discovering who the mole is, cracking stupid dialogues, fucking Trish, and oh, did I mention, fucking Trish. The puddle of water in the bathroom is less shallow than this one. All he needed was to see a hint of her pink panties, and he was as horny as a wild animal in heat. For every other minute in the book from then on. Just take a cold shower, dude. He's supposed to appear like this conflicted, complex person, but quite frankly, he just comes across as a very "attractive" gorilla.

There's this other bunch of secondary characters. Oh, wait, did I say bunch? I meant army. There's Trish's brother Zane, his wife Angel, Trish's bfffffffff Heidi, Trish's other "friend" Leanne, some dude called Gunter, some chick called Olivia, her competitor Xavier (female Xavier), her trainer Arnie, some dude called Bob, a couple of detectives, Josh's adoptive parents, his "uncle" Ty, his bffffff and boss Sabrina, Sabrina's ex-lover Gabe, another bfffffff Dingo, random black ops agents Ryder and Ferrari, his ex lover Chelsea, some dead dude named Colbert, CIA slime Rikker, Senator Witherspoon, Senator Dixon, Jesus Christ, Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi, and the Orc army from Lord of the Rings. By the time I figured out the relationship between these empty shells, the book was freaking over. And it wasn't a short read, mind you, nay, this was 400 motherfucking pages long. Spare me the crap.

There's basically random scenes of investigation, stake-outs, characters trying hard as they can to be badass, and lots of horniness and sex. Everyone in Miami is a horndog, folks! Or so this book says. Also, it was about as predictable as the end of Cinderella. There was no OMG factor. Except, when they almost had sex the day they met. And not in a one-night stand kinda way, no, in a I'm giving you part of my soul kinda way. Also, the story just loses its way in the middle. Things stop making sense, and not in a Metamorphosis kinda way, but in a "I just fell asleep while typing" kinda way. The coincidences in this book are ridiculous. Of course, even trained specialists who're supposed to be so smart, they're the most elite of the elite don't get. Can I be an agent here? I'm actually smart.

Things I learnt after reading this book: Even published writers don't get the difference between 'raise' and 'rise'. A phoenix rises from its ashes, Ms. Love, it does not raise from its ashes.
Also that I really hope Ms. Love didn't name her kids the way she named her characters. What the fuck kind of name is Dingo, yo? A Dingo is a species of dog, not what you name a human.

Zero stars. Fuck you, Love.

Heroine was TSTL. The only reason I read this book was well I remember reading a SIM by this author which I liked and then I found out that the heroine was in that book, skimmed that one and caught up on her history. Trish was born late in her parents life and shuttled around, unloved and she found love at all the wrong places, the bottom of a bottle, men but now she's trying to clean up. She has an antique shop, is sober and she's being STALKED. The stupid chick refuses to tell anyone, even her DEA consultant brother because the stupid stalker says he will kill her highly trained bro and his wife. Even when people find out the dumb heroine persists on taking chances and not reporting things. She was damn unlikable.

The hero was again insipid, he had lost his casual lover two years back but the way he behaved seemed like she was the love of his life. I didn't care for the characters, the romance or the weird mystery.

This was the type of romance that took us on a journey as the two kept fighting the thing that was right in front of them. Josh and Trish are the two that headline this suspense. When going after answers you need to make sure you want them all too. Why set boundaries too that can not be kept in certain cases? They do have us going fast at times but someone else is also playing with them. The balance is well done with the characters owning you by the time this one is done.

I have to say I fell in love with the characters in this book. Trish is a sassy, sexy, southern belle; and Josh is one dead sexy hunk. I don’t know about anyone else but one of my favorite parts in a book is the romantic dance between two characters. And the dance in this book is scorching hot. The intricate detail that Dianna weaves onto the pages is no less than impressive, you’d think she was former CIA, or FBI! This story is chock full of action, white hot romance, shocking twists and intelligence.

On a very personal note I found myself really connecting with Trish, who is an alcoholic and has a very protective brother named Zane (you have to read his book, Last Chance to Run). I have a sister who’s also an alcoholic, and has the same name; and considering how over protective I am of my little sister this book really hit home for me on several occasions. The way Dianna wrote Trish’s situation on being an alcoholic was very spot on. Through out the book I kept nodding and “yepping” to her reactions to situations. I love that Zane never gave up on his sister. Until the day I die I know I’ll never give up on mine.

Now I just have to wait for the next Slye Temp romantic thriller: Honeymoon to Die For.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author.
I enjoyed getting to know the characters. A big plus was that for a change the main people did not jump in to bed in the first day of meeting. Actually I was over half way through I think before they jumped in bed. A nice change.
I did not realize this was a continuation of another book and it made for a confusing read. They kept referring to a former character and past experiences that I was clueless about. Also it left an I satisfying end to the story. I felt like having made it all the way through just to find out nothing was resolved and then to leave an open end by throwing in a last minute tease with a secondary person was not quite fair.
I do know I will be picking up the next book but if it is left never ending background plot I am not sure I will stick with it.

Loved it! This is the first official book for the Slye Temp series, and it did a great job kicking it off! It was nice seeing so many familiar faces from Last Chance To Run, and seeing what they have been up to. The new characters really brought a lot of action to the story. Every page gave you a piece to the puzzle, or a new twist in the plot! Poor Trish couldn't catch a break! It was great reading her story! Josh doesn't have it easy either, so he was pretty interesting too! I don't want to give anything away, but I'm really excited to see where this series goes! I'm willing to bet it's going to be full of excitement and have me on the edge of my seat, unable to put the book down! That's exactly how I experienced Nowhere Safe! :)

Not for bedtime!
Nowhere Safe is one of the best romantic suspense books I have read, and that is saying a lot! I no longer slog through mediocre books! This, however, kept me guessing, teased me with twists, and the developement of the characters was realistic, involved, and heartwarming! Tastefully done, steamy scenes complete this thriller! I am glad I read the prequel first, though! This is already a great series! Do not miss this one! Thanks again, Dianna Love!

Wonderful and enjoyable read. Once again Dianna Love creates great characters and a marvelous romance suspense story. The lead characters Josh and Trish are great, and make a wonderful romantic couple. This wonderful story had me on the edge of my seat all the way through to the exciting climatic ending. Don't miss this series.

Joshua “Josh” Carrington is an undercover operative for Slye Investigations. He’s dealing with guilt over a mission three years ago of getting the woman he was involved with killed. Josh is determined not to make the same mistake again. Josh’s current mission will put him in the same type of position, and he’ll have to decide whether the woman he’s interested in is worth changing his mind. Patricia “Trish” Jackson is trying to put her life back together. She’s a recovering alcoholic and trying to get her antiques business going, by auditioning for a reality show as an accessor. Trish isn’t ready for a relationship until she meets her brother’s coworker. Trish is also dealing with a stalker who is threatening her family and friends. Josh and Trish will have to fight their mutual attraction and the danger surrounding them. They’ll find that there is Nowhere Safe.

Nowhere Safe is the first book in Dianna Love’s series formerly known as Slye Temps and has been rebranded as Slye Temps Black Ops. A man dealing with guilt over a previous mission and death. He’ll have to face the past on his current mission when the woman he has a strong attraction to is in danger and may just be a mole. Nowhere Safe also has a flawed woman dealing with her own demons from the past along with all the stress and danger in her present life. She’ll also deal with an overprotective brother while trying to not act on the strong attraction for the man inserting himself into her life. These two will have to work their way through their former demons to try to find the true love neither thought they’d ever find. Nowhere Safe has danger, moles in the government, stalkers, passion, and suspense that keep the reader very engaged. You won’t be able to put down this story wondering who the bad guys are and their reasons behind what they’re doing. An edge of your seat read by Dianna Love.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "NOWHERE SAFE"
I found this to be an interesting, intriguing, suspense, mysterious intense drama, angst, steam, secrets, twist that you reading to the end.
Josh Carrington was on a CIA operation destroyed an elite mercenary black ops unit 2yrs ago he got an innocent woman killed survivors disappeared to heal wounds.
Josh now works for Slye Temp Agency contracting security work with Corporate America he gets SRNT to uncover a leak in the DEA Task Force a deadly shipment is bound for the US nothing will stop him from finding the mole, blocking the shipment, catching the traitor.
Trish Jackson is a difficult spitfire & sister to Josh's "1 DEA suspect her brother is involved he won't let her get in his way but he's struggling with his attraction to her, she also had a stalker after her & threatens anyone willing to help her even Josh.
I definitely recommend to get this suspense filled drama so much happens will Josh & Trish get a HEA you have to get this book to see how things turn out.

After losing someone he cared about on a mission that went sideways, Josh had been reluctant to "get back on the horse", both in his personal life and in his work as a covert field agent. Now he was in Miami assigned to uncover the mole in the DEA. The agency has concerns about Zane and his sister Trish, so Josh agrees to "get to know" Trish to see what he can find
out. Fortunately, or un, there's a whole lot going on in Trish's life, and her attraction to Josh is only a tiny part of it.
Nowhere Safe is one of those complex, fast paced, hard hitting spy novels that make great reading. This one has politicians and antiquities dealers, an international cast of spies and covert agents and plenty of hot alpha males and gorgeous, independent women. There's gun play, kidnapping and even some hot sex.
If your live's been a little humdrum lately, Dianna Love's first Slye Temp novel will definitely spice it up.
I couldn't put this one down.

Trish is a recovering alcoholic. Her brother holds a position that constantly will put his life in danger and he is very overprotective of her. She runs an antique business she hopes to get off the ground by winning a contest. Josh is an agent of the CIA working undercover. When one of his contacts gets killed, he starts working with a special team hired by one of the best. He is to go undercover to find a mole in the government. Two of the suspects are Trish and her brother. He gains admittance to Trish’s life but things are more dangerous than he even realizes. Secrets, stalkers, spies everywhere, and lots of action and heat make this the perfect book to read~

A good romance that keeps you guessing

This book had characters I liked and a lot of mystery going on. It did have some strong suspenseful moments, but the rest of the book was only kinda suspenseful to me. I enjoyed it ,but it wasn't a page turner that I couldn't put down, and I am a harsh rater so I only have it a three. I'm curious about the next book in the series, but not sure if I'm curious enough to read it. Especially since this book was free, and I assume the other books in the series aren't.

Hot, steamy, and action packed (in more ways than one). The plot was fantastic. The character development was great to see from the book prior and throughout this one. Each book is a stand alone novel with an ending. The writing is good, and I can't wait to read the next in the series! I highly recommend this to anyone who likes an explicit love scene, a thrill ride of a plot, and doesn't mind spending hours reading instead of sleeping.... It's addictive. Fair warning.

I was lucky enough to win the first three novels in this series (0.5, 1 & 2) in audiobook form. We briefly met Trish in the first one and now we really get to know her. Her unloved childhood set her on a self-destructive path to alcohol and emotional instability. She has fought hard to overcome these tendencies but someone is determined to send her rocketing right back to them. Josh has his own demons to overcome, work is his focus and he’ll do what he must to get the job done, including lying to Trish. The suspense and steamy romance in this book made it a thoroughly enjoyable read.

Interesting who-done-it as well as international spy mystery book. Josh is operative of secret agency whose team got burned when trying to rescue a CIA hostage, his team was compromised with him getting severely wounded and his lover Chelsea dying in his arms...now he is assigned as undercover FBI agent attached to DEA investigation...but the bad guy from botched previous operation is in play again...lots of deception, suspense, action and ending which will keep the reader guessing...

Josh is an operative for an investigation company that works for different government agencies. They are based in Atlanta, but is currently in Miami working to find a mole in the DEA. Trish is the owner of an antique store and her brother Zane works for the DEA. This is a very adventurous book full of drama and suspense. Once I started reading I could not put it down. I look forward to other books in this series. Very exciting reading.

Narration is terrible. NEVER have a man narrate a southern belle. Not only is it terrible, but it is extremely different from her voice (same narrator) in the first book. And it isn’t just the female voices. His Australian is one of the worst I’ve heard. The electronic voice distortion is terrible. And at times the narrator says the lines in the wrong character voice. These errors are not caught by the editor obviously.

Undercover to find a mole, Josh ingratiates himself with Trish, Zane’s sister, to determine if Zane and his sister are the moles. I didnt like this one as much as Zane’s story. It was pretty confusing and a bit convoluted. Of course it all comes together at the end. Great love/sex scene in chapter 36.

If you like romance with some suspense thrown and good character development, in you will really enjoy this book. There are lots of twists and turns that keeps you guessing. There is an overarching story that is part of the overall series but this book can be read as standalone book with an HEA ending.

I love the back story, depth, flaws, and interconnectedness if this entire cast of characters! The Slye team is the best, and I think you will love the struggles and rising above darkness that both Trish and Josh achieve to come together. Definitely read Last Chance to Run first with Zane and Angel. I wish that was listed in the series bunch. It’s basically like book 0.5.

Fast paced mystery with twists and turns.

Fast paced adventure with twists and turns. You’ll be glued to the pages. Likable characters with flaws and both needing but not necessarily looking for redemption. A classic whodunnit where you aren’t quite sure who the target is. Great read but plan ahead. There aren’t easy stopping places so you might be “forced” to read through to the end.

Thrilling.

A thoroughly enjoyable story. So many little crumbs to follow to get some answers regarding who’s targeting Trish and Josh. There will be some carry over of the group involved and their agenda into the next story.
The characters are very likeable, the suspense thrilling, there is passion and very little sex.

Save me from heroines who are TSTL and heroes who suddenly want her for reasons that are never really explained. This heroine made more stupid decisions than I could count - quite frankly I was practically rooting for the bad guy.
