Salvation is a Southern classic novel, a journey full of twists that found me turning the light back on to read one more chapter before I slept.
I liked the clarity of motivation and how each character was woven with that one shockingly bright thread that warns the reader against getting comfortable. I found myself repeating the coral snake rhyme: red on black, safe for Jack, red on yellow will hurt a fellow. The trick was seeing the colors correctly.
And the risk the author takes, makes this book easily 5 stars.
I am biting my lip to keep from telling what happens
While the genre of book is not what I usually read I always have a good time reading Kurt Corriher's books. If you enjoy a book that is well written, this is the book for you. There are many twists and turns along the way and you find yourself wanting Junie to finally get a break. You will also disagree with Junie on some of the things he has done. You may find yourself hoping he takes Henry Bost's advice at then end! There are characters you will like and some you will hate, good vs. evil I could say. Read it and you will find out.
