Based on the New York Times bestseller by Cornelia Funke
Twelve-year-old Meggie Folchart has often wondered what happened to her mother who mysteriously disappeared when Meggie was a young girl. As she learns about her father’s ability to read characters out of books, and read and people into them, she realizes, that this unusual power runs in the family. Soon, the truth of Inkheart unravels itself and Meggie finds herself risking everything to rescue her mother. But does Meggie stand a chance against the evil lord Capricorn and Inkheart’s most vicious villain, the Shadow?
Jane B. Mason grew up in a large family in northern Minnesota. She has written books for kids of all ages under many names and on many subjects, among them ghosts, Jedi, detective duos, princesses, twins, mean girls, and slam books.
Jane has lived in the midwest and on both coasts, but appears to have settled in Oakland, California, and writes almost every day at either a friend's dining room table or a little studio in her back yard, where she has a purple loveseat, a whole lotta books, and an odd selection of trinkets she has unwittingly been collecting since she was a child.
This was so good. I liked this version of the story even better than the original by Cornelia Funke. I loved the fairies, the books, the characters, and the power to eldest characters out of stories, which is what Mo and Maggie could do.
Working to read through my back log of children's books so I can donate. Three stars is my default rating for children and YA books and indicates they are good for their audience.
its a book of magic where theres 2 worlds inkheart and real. mo has a power to read things in and out of inkheart. will these powers be used for good or evil? read and find out.
A movie novelization that wasn't so exactly like the movie that it bored me! It actually combined pieces of both the movie and the book, along with a few things that weren't in either that I really liked!
