Two men--Chong Hu Lan, a Chinese-American painter, and Tim Williams, a Vietnam veteran--find their lives crossing as they attempt to rid a mountain resort of a gang that is terrorizing a young woman
I didn't expect to care about the character in this book as much as I do, mostly because this book was so slow to begin. It wasn't until about halfway through that I realized I was enjoying myself. This book is not void of controversial topics, which came close to making me put the book down as a dnf; I'm still not sure how I feel about Chong and Ginny's encounters in some parts of the story, but I don't think it crossed the line. I'm really glad it didn't, because I will probably think about this book for a long, long time.
