Bobb Biehl's experience of working with over 500 Christian CEOs and their teams is I expect unparalleled. This book is full of practical wisdom arranged in 30 brief chapters with helpful advice and valuable questions for reflection. One of my favourite leadership teachers.

Leading with Confidence is a book written for CEOs of major companies as well as people in leadership of major organizations including megachurches or rapidly growing churches. A generation ago most people believed that in order to run a successful church you needed to adopt the leadership strategies of the world's major companies, and this book was written to equip leaders with 30 topics in which you can lead with more confidence and dozens of other good qualities. The problem with this book is that even though it offers some helpful advice on how to lead, it is so vague that the advice the author gives almost sounds like a worried mother's advice as her son walks out the door: "don't get into any trouble now!" My opinion is that if you want to learn about leadership, study the life of Jesus, then you will know how to lead. But if you need practical help on these issues, there are plenty of better books out there than this one.
