This book is written from a British/ European perspective, which I found refreshing, and includes many makes and models we aren't familiar with here in the States. They aren't completely familiar with American cars either, as on the Corvette page there is a photo of an engine that clearly says "Chrysler" on it. It is a very large book beacause it is actually 3 books bound as one. That's why about halfway through it begins to tell you the American translations of British car terms like saloon, boot, bonnet, etc. where it didn't before. The actual title of this book is "definitive," not "definite." It is a bold claim, as I don't think any book could contain ALL the car makes ever made. It is loaded with lots of color photos and even a section on various designers. Overall, an excellent reference book.
