WomanChrist was my first book published by a really BIG publisher. The whole process was so exciting and I loved every minute of it. For several years before and during the writing, I witnessed the transformation of many women and some men at Wisdom House in St. Paul, MN. where I was co-director with Rev. Alla Renee Bozarth (who was located on the other side of the Mississippi in St. Louis Park.) Both of us acted as spiritual guides and provided opportunities for ritual prayer experiences. It was out of this experience that WomanChrist was born. The book continues to be among the classics of the development of such movements as WomanChurch, and the wedding of women's ancient symbols with a broadly based expression of Christian faith.
