Kiyo and Zatch meet the mysterious Mr. Riddles and his mamodo partner and learn more about their spell book, and a young mamodo claims Zatch as her boyfriend from their world! Raiku continues to deliver humour and intrigue with this enjoyable entry. Just who are Mr. Riddles and this new girl, and how will they affect the outcome of the battle?

We finally see the mystery of the mamodo tablets and even get more understanding around the spell books. And we get introduced to one of my favorite characters in the series Kido and Dr. Riddles as he is just a fun character.

Great volume! We are about halfway through the series now and this volume advances the plot a notch with the meaning of the stone tablets revealed and an expanded battlefield now with the evil mamodo vs the nicer ones. We start off with a very strange duo who battle Zatch and Kiyo. The owner is creepy and calls himself Dr. Riddles but he informs Kiyo of the secrets of the book and thus Zatch starts to get much stronger now. This takes up well over half the book. Then a few fun chapters including one back at school and one where a mamodo claims to be Zatch's girlfriend back in the mamodo world. LOL. Then the serious ending as the evil side gathers. I really love the combination of sweetness and humour with evil and intense battles.
