It should’ve been an easy yes and another goal crossed off his time leap bucket list, but Uta also holds a special place in his heart, throwing his emotions into chaos. His worries seem endless. What if dating one girl ruins his friendship with the other? Or what if it affects the whole group? To add to the chaos, Serika, the school’s music buff, recruits Natsuki into her band. Left it around 90% to come back and finish it because the love song was cringey to be honest. That's not necessarily bad since it's intended, but it didn't make it enjoyable to read through that scene.

As for the story and characters overall, I can't say I enjoyed this as much as other volumes. I'd probably rank them as 1 > 3 > 2 > 4 because I REALLY don't care about music subplots, unless it's exceptional, and this wasn't. The idea of assembling a band is neat, but reading about the practices and songs was not, and I never thought Uta was that strong a competitor for a love interest. I find her character to "cheery cheery/genki" and less interesting as a result. I also suspected she wouldn't get together because the MC obviously has his crush from his previous life, plus Uta and the sports guy in their group seems like the obvious ship.

Aside from the song and music focus, I'm not sure there was much else to enjoy in this piece. I liked Miori's ending phone call scene the best probably because it was so sad, then I did like seeing Uta cry and knowing that the main character is in a relationship now is nice. That said, I think it could've happened last volume and been fine - he knew it was mutual and didn't need to drag it out a whole volume.

I feel like I'm rambling, but I just don't enjoy the music plot of this one and didn't feel like the progress of this volume was that good. I do like the Shinohara Mei character, but as a whole, this was a mediocre ish volume at best. I wouldn't say I disliked it outright, but it's closer to a 1/5 than a 2/5 honestly. Just didn't really click with me.

Still gonna keep reading though and still an overall favorite LN series for me. I'm curious what will happen next. I assume Miori's unrequited love for the MC will be the central focus and that she will be the final ship. Maybe we will finally learn a bit more of Reita, beyond that small inner monologue scene? I'm also curious how MC's new girlfriend relationship will play out as well as how his little sister will react.

Very happy how the plot progresses. The subplot was enjoyable for me and Serika a fun character to explore. I‘m especially happy that

This volume really broke me, love the Uta illustrations, and more depth into Serika bonding. The story progress too fast but in a good way.
