"A work of art is a confession"
Amol Redij has truly captured the essence of all artists in his notable collection of poems – Acathexis – which delves deep into emotionless expressions, silent existential whispers, eerie aloofness, and the barren nothingness of human emotions. He has successfully summed these themes in a thought-provoking manner.

This is the final instalment in Amol Redij's emotive trilogy that explores isolation and aloofness, urging readers to embrace the silence ringing within and confront the feeling of nothingness, thereby finding solace in their existential emptiness. His words weave a tapestry that takes the readers on a voyage through the landscapes of the soul. Acathexis is an in-depth reflection on the human condition in which emotions fade, leaving a stark absence.

The reader is privy to a raw and unapologetic study of human emotions throughout the book. The language is spare and austere, reflecting the issues they wish to explore. Although somewhere, I found the poems and their symbolism to be too abstract and thereby making it difficult to grasp the underlying theme.

One of the strengths of this collection lies in its ability to challenge conventional notions of emotional expression. Amol Redij has dealt with multiple issues in his book, including but not limited to social issues, political happenings, gender issues and themes of fertility and God. The poems, which drew inspiration from the writings of several philosophers, highlight the paradoxes in human nature, where, on the surface, aloofness and detachment rule, but, on the inside, a yearning for connection and understanding lingers.

The exploration of these contradictions evokes a sense of disquiet and forces the reader to confront their emotional vulnerabilities. Amidst the apparent emptiness, Amol Redij interweaves words of hope. For instance, when he writes,
"An able warrior, though now in shambles, after beavering the battles of virtuousness, will resurrect."
Such lines instil a sense of optimism despite the challenges presented.

This book is unbelievably an evocative and esoteric maze of vivid musings and thoughts in the form of poems or free verses. As the title 'Acathexis' suggest this book entails abundance of thoughts on mundane things surrounding us, penned down with no strings attached yet leaves indelible mark on mind.

These free verses are at times highly thought provoking and sometimes heart churning too. It invariably leaves a deep and an indelible mark on mind with its deftness. The themes explores existentialism, loss, and the search for meaning in a world that often seems devoid of it. All the more, they are bold and pragmatic, also leaves powerful messages behind.

As you flip the pages of this collection, each and every poetry evokes a panorama of insistent despair and at the same time seeks to find a ray of hope in between. Some poems present a vivid description of the scenarios and circumstances surrounding the human condition, existence and experiences.

I can not stop myself to mention some of the poems which jolted me with its entirety. To name a very few - 'Dwadler', 'Horizon', 'Psychosis' and many more. A bit complex, hard-hitting, bold, deep, and pragmatic challenging status quo, this collection is a wholesome package for poetry lovers.

The language of this book is easy yet difficult to understand and decipher the essence for the beginners yet readers will relate and resonate with the words if they will understand. A must read for all the poetry-savvy out there. Do give it a thoughtful read.

'Acathexis: A Detached Void' by Amol Redij is a unique collection of poems based on the themes of existentialism , loss, and the search of meaning in a world that often seems devoid of it . The word "Acathexis" itself, holds a huge meaning, which means a condition in which signicfucant things doesn't arouse any emotion.

His poems are rich in terms of vocabulary, texture, feeling , emotions etc. They are mostly written as a free-verse without forming any rhyming pairs. But, each and every verse holds a captivating meaning that touches your soul and accumulates with your thoughts.

There are few pieces , which are intense and raw at the same-time. Every poem holds a story to tell his readers. He paints a canvas with his verses that creates a imaginative creations.

There is a certain amount of patience you will require in order to understand the true meaning and depth of his poems. While, reading this book to be honest, I had a complete feeling of reading some renowed poet . Cover of the book is classy with those blue and black themed splashes. It goes well with the uniqueness of his poems.

Overall, I recommend this poetry book to those who are ardent lover of poems. To be honest, if you are beginner then you might need to read this book two to three times in order to capture the true essence of his poems.

Must read❤❤

Acatexis: A Detached Void written by Amol Redij took me to a whole different world full of words filled with extraordinary vibes.

"For the goods are no more worth; stale, And doing the bad is only the art."

Each of the poems that I read had depth in it, I could strongly resonate with some of them as they flashed a bunch of warm memories in my mind and I time-travelled to live those moments once again!

In terms of writing, I could connect to every word of the poem and I was taken aback by some sentences to realise how deeply the writer has thought while putting his love in every word!

The author writes, "I search, the twinkling eyes with my own blindness, and wish to hear, in my deafness, the echoes that you'd echo."

I have rarely read a book with these many poems with a gripping quality. The writing style had a freestyle element that made me enjoy the turning-pages process.

It will be a sin if I don't talk about the vocabulary used in this book. So many new words, & It all looked effortless.

"Inert brain full of insipid senses, mocks at the helplessness."

After reading the whole book, I can say that the badge of legit OG Writer, Poet should be given to the author. That's all I can say!
