Jason Freeman is torn, wondering which natural wonder is more deserving of his attention - the awesome-looking Malibu surf, or Sienna Devereux, who lounges on the beach. He lives in Malibu, has a gorgeous girlfriend and some very cool friends - most of whom just happen to be vampires.
The vampire clique are settling in for a good summer. Jason is hoping that things will be calmer than they have been over the last few months. But their peace is shattered when evidence emerges that there's a vampire hunter in town. Friends are going missing and then reappearing with no real memory of what's happened to them. What's really going on?
I actually really liked this book. I liked the bigger idea that humans have discovered that vampires are real, and of course, human nature being what it is, they start experimenting on vampires to improve humans. While I think that it's highly unlikely that a group of teenagers would be able to do what they do in this novel, I still really enjoyed it.
I think this was a decent ending to the series, with everybody breaking up to head to different universities. I did also like the little poking that Van Dyke did to Jason about how he doesn't know anything about anybody except Sienna, which is completely fair because nearly all of the characters in this series remain very surface level. However, it was a decent series if you're looking for a simple and easy read.
Great last (unfortunately) book of the series. It’s the end of their senior year and the gang are feeling melancholy. Until the adults all leave for a secret meeting and Zack fills them in on why. Then things very quickly get complicated and dangerous.
Through the whole thing, Jason and Sienna are just trying to find some alone time before having to go off to college. The events leading up to and stopping the various tries are frustratingly cute.
There’s not much I can say that I didn’t like about this story other than that for a bunch of inexperienced teens they sure managed to defeat the high tech bad guys rather easily. Adam finally finds a GF, sort of, but that works out.
The main thing I don’t like is that there is no follow up to tell us anything about if/when Jason becomes a vampire and inherits his Aunt’s wealth and legacy.
Fave scenes: finding Van Dyke in the shower room and the guys sneaking into the warehouse.
I've had this series on my book list for a couple of years. It wasn't too bad, but I probably would have enjoyed it more when I was younger. Overall, it had some fun characters and was a quick read.
The sixth, and final chapter of the Vampire Beach books, is as much of a guilty pleasure as the first five books. These "written by committee" novels will never be cosidered great literature, but they sure are fun to read literature! If you like teens, vampires and romance all wrapped up in one series, then these are the books for you. This final novel involves vampire hunters with an interesting twist. I'm glad to say that this novel wraps up all the loose ends in an enjoyable fashion. Go forth and read!!
I finally got round to finishing the final book in the “Vampire Beach” series
‘Hunted’
And having started it, began to realise that I had skipped over book five…Boo!
No matter, it didn’t take me long to catch up, as the subject of THAT book didn’t have much to do with this final one.
Being the last, I really wanted to take my time absorbing every little detail.
This book didn’t disappoint.
We find Jason and all the Malibu Vamps under threat from a VERY serious foe.
It isn’t until one of there own Michael Van Dyke, Jason Vamp, friend, jokester wingman of Brad, disappears.
As the group frantically searches for him, he mysteriously shows up several days later in a seriously disoriented way.
By the looks of Van Dyke, it is clear someone has performed a multitudes of experiments on his body.
The Vampire Council is already meeting to discuss, just what is happening.
With the threat still lingering to Vampire and humans friends alike, Jason, Adam and all the Malibu Vamps, start the process of investigating who is responsible.
Will they discover the truth before more of Jason’s friends are taken? Specifically, Sienna, his Vamp girlfriend?
What a trip.
What a rollicking, fly by your pants, ending to the series, this was.
It didn’t disappoint. And, good to see the ever humorous Adam was on point to the very end…Haha!
I’m going to miss these guys.
Can I be greedy and ask for their College years??
Still so many stories… And, unless I missed something by not reading book #5
Did Danielle meet the love of her life under the stars? As foretold by the fortune teller? Was kinda hoping for a hot minute there that it was going to be Adam
Wow, Zach Lafreniere is undoubtedly my favorite character! He's soo amazing, and i'm glad he's pulled through for the others soo many times. Including Jason. His leadership skill's are amazing, i also love Sienna, Jason, Dani - and everyone else, really. I knew straight from the party that Brianna was a traitor, but still, it was a great series. Definitely underrated. THis series deserves more recognition and i hope some day it gets the attention it deserves. For now, 100% recommend! A must read!
Can't believe it is over, really enjoyed this series and now I feel bad that I took so long to pick up the first one as one I started I think I read the whole series in 3 months alongside another 20 books. This reminds me a bit of Private well before it went off the rails in the final few books, just a simple teen page turner that an old man like me can still find intriguing. I just want to be able to write this well.
Meh, it was fun. Some random book I picked up in the store and since it was in the genre of vampires, I thought maybe I should try it out. But, I didn't know it was the last book in a series called 'Vampire Beach'. Haha, Vampire Beach? So it was confusing here and there, I didn't read the first book or anything in the middle. Anyways, the MC was good. He was cool and it wasn't a big deal. Nice action, nice thoughts and boyish.
So in this book, it says the romance is passionate. Well, um, what romance?
Yah sure, I don't mind those 'teen-modern-romance' or the 'gf-bf' thing, but it wasn't hot. Yah, it was just what you call normal romance. Or maybe its just me. I mean, after reading this book, I found out it was the sixth in the series and I pushed in for more information. I also found out that the romance started in the previous books, ones I haven't read. So, this book didn't have a very strong taste for romance.
I liked the plot. It was cool. Mystery, suspense and action altogether! I especially loved the part in of the last pages, where Duval describes the scene in slow motion. That was epic!
Overall, good. The next thing is, I found a book called Ritual and Legacy, which is two books in one. I may plan on reading it, for clearing up my confusion on the char and romance, and since the book is available for me.
I really enjoyed this series but I did feel like this book didnt really have an ending. It felt like there was still more to come, it was this that made the book loose a star unfortunately . The story overall though was excellent. Drama, intrigue, action, fight scenes, betrayal, rescue missions, romance and vampires all in under 250 pages, what more could you want. I also really appreciated a vampire book without massive age difference or ||a teenager choosing to change his species for love, I mean would you want the decisions you made as a teen to be permanent?||. I would reccomend this series to anyone who was looking for a vampire story with a little less angst than most.

So I've really been loving this series but I do think the ended wasn't the best sadly. It was still fun and easy to read but I think I preferred the books more when they were set in a Malibu, beachy setting as apposed to this being based on breaking into a lab and creating a rescue plan. It felt a little more action based and less thriller or mystery to me. Not a terrible ending by any means but not my favourite of the series.
if she ends the seriss i will go mad there my favourite books pluu sinne is pure hot but there the best books in the world hunted is my 1st favourite legacy is my 2st one i recomend you read them.ps if your guy the part with addam in the store with jason buying comdones is so funney case adam is a kind im cool kinda senstiv person
I read this book a while ago and I suppose its ironic that this was the first book I'd read of the series. I really loved this book and I would definitely like to read the rest of the series which is quite odd for me because I'm not normally into supernatural books so kudos to the author for changing my mind with this lovely piece.
Wahhh! I can't believe this series is over! I sincerely love Vampire Beach...the characters are fun, it's like a throwback to the 80s and yet the trouble that follows the vampires makes sense in a modern setting. This book is a fabulous end to the series. I will really, really miss these characters.
This book was hilarious, and thankfully very short. Love that everyone is a vampire expert in these post twilight days, I prefer my vamps broody and dangerous so these school aged vamps are funny :) YA readers would love these books for sure!
