The one thing Keely Moreno's foot reflexology courses fail to teach her is how to deal with a corpse. Free from her abusive ex-husband, Keely pursues a new career in Key West. All goes well until Keely reports to the Ashford home and finds her wealthy patient, Margaux Ashford, dead from a bullet later found to have been fired from Keely's own gun. There are more than enough suspects to go around, and then another body is found. Keely and her friend sift through a tangled web of lies and death under the sunny Key West skies, but in the end it is Keely who finds, and faces the murderer, alone. Award-winning author Dorothy Francis works from her home studios in Iowa and Florida.
Keely Moreno is a local foot reflexologist and arrives at the home of wealthy Key West civic leader, Margaux Ashford, for an appointment only to find Margaux dead. The police say its murder and the gun found in the victims hand belongs to Keely. This leads Keely to try to find the killer who at first she thinks is her abusive ex-husband Jude Cantrell. How Keely and Punt Ashford discover the killer makes for a great read. I couldn't put this one down.
The characters actually get in the way of the police, and yet we're supposed to be concerned about them when they endanger themselves finding out information that the police already know. I also had the mystery figured out way before the end, but not because I am terribly brilliant.
Loved this book. Loved the mystery and since I am from a sub tropical area, loved the information about Key West. I hope to find more with the same heroine.
