I LOVED Malcolm in the Middle, so when I saw this book at the library I didn't hesitate to grab it. It was actually much better than I expected - the character voices were pretty spot-on, and it read very much like an unaired episode from season one.

I really wish I had known this was a book series way back when! I also wish my library had more than just this one, because I'd sure love to read all of these.

ETA: I spoke too soon! Turns out my library has all of the books after all.

I didn't know there are MITM books and when I found this, I was delighted! This book (like the show) was funny, chaotic, and so entertaining. I kept laughing to myself every few pages because it was hilarious. Really loved this book and I hope I can find more of the series!!

This would be believable as an episode of the show. It was a faithful interpretation and you could imagine the actors from the show delivering the dialogue for the most part. Some of it was a little stilted for the sake of being a kids book but overall good.

keluarga Malcolm kedatangan tamu seorang murid pertukaran dari kelas jeniusnya Malcolm selama seminggu. Pada awalnya sih Malcolm sama sekali nggak kepengen ikut ambil bagian sebagai orang yang menyediakan tempat tinggal bagi anak baru ini, tapi ibunya seneng banget dan mengajukan ke pihak sekolah. Dan karena cuma keluarga Malcolm satu-satunya yang bersedia akhirnya jadi deh, si anak baru ini tinggal di rumah Malcolm (walaupun guru mereka sempat waswas).

Reese mulai nyusun rencana dan pengen ngejadiin anak baru itu budaknya dia. Tapi nggak disetujui Malcolm karena ada undang-undang yang melarang perbudakan. Yah, pokoknya Reese pengen nunjukin ke si anak baru siapa bossnya.

sayangnya mereka lupa mempertimbangkan kalau si anak baru ini mungkin aja...cewek! Dan belum apa-apa cewek ini sudah menendang mereka dari kamar mereka. IQ nya pun lebih tinggi dari Malcolm dan ibu mereka yang pengen banget punya anak cewek seneng banget sama Camelia, anak baru ini. Hal yang lebih mengerikan adalah, ternyata Camelia bahkan punya popoknya sendiri karena setiap hamil ibu Malcolm sangat mengidamkan anak perempuan dan Camelia adalah nama favoritnya. Kebayang kan jadi ada banyak popok dengan nama Camelia dari empat anak cowok di keluarga Malcolm.

seru saat Camelia mulai ngambil alih semua hal yang selama ini sudah diatur Malcolm di keluarganya. Dia bisa nyemamatin Francis dari bencana hidung di sekolah militernya dan nggak mendapatkan amukan ibu mereka. Dia menyelamatkan hari ibu, dia disukai semua orang. Pokoknya Malcolm bener-bener merasa tersaingi.

Tapi gimanapun ini tetep keluarga Malcolm kan?

Paling suka saat ibu mereka bilang, walaupun mereka semua membuatnya gila tapi dia tidak menginginkan siapapun selain mereka.

aaa.... jadi pengen lagi deh baca Malcolm. Karakter favorit gue adalah Reese.

the crazy family~! I love them~! I love Reese, Malcolm, Dewey, MOM! lol.
the translated version is rather suck, well you can't exactly translate their madness anyway... the tv series is way way better than the books T^T

A charming little book that follows the original series on tv. Malcolm finds competition from a exchange student living with them. A funny book that is a good bonus to the tv show.
