The tower has fallen. Survivors are scattered, scrambling to find safety and each other. The rest of the world comes into view as the threats continue to evolve. Elements of strength and hope start to emerge--but at what cost? We're Season 3 features twelve chapters packing performances and sound effects that rival movies and prove that modern audio drama is undead and well. We're Alive: A Story of Survival, the Third Season is the best episode of this series so far. This exciting full cast audio drama is my fist experience listening to a radio show format and have to say it bedazzles. The sound effects are beyond phenomenal and I actually felt like I was up close with the characters.

From start to finish, I was transfixed by the intensity of the action and the tremendously creative plot. The character development was perfection as there were many opportunities to learn more about their histories, relationships and personalities during the lulls in fighting the ever present Zs'.

My mind was blown, not only the production, but also the exceptionally talented actors/narrators.
In my opinion, listening to an audiobook in this (Radio Drama) format is comparable to watching a movie in IMAX.

Highly recommend this series, and I will definitely be seeking more stories in radio format in the future.

5 Stars Audio Production & Cast, 4 Stars Story = 4.5 Stars Total

In the first two seasons of 'We're Alive', you are introduced to the core cast of characters that drive the story. The good, the bad and lots of gray in between. The whole story has a very character driven plot that draws elements from the very start to the end. There's a lot of action between fighting to survive, data collection and unexpected departures from anything resembling routine. The reader is given a broader scope of awareness and get a taste of what's going on across state lines. It's not just about L.A., the zombie army and the Maulers.

If someone asked me if it was possible to make a zombie story PG-13 and not utterly gruesome, I'd wonder if it would be at all engaging. Well, this audio drama totally managed to do it. There are times when the story slows down but it's a mix of what's happening in the story and being able to feel what the characters are feeling at that point. It's great when the story can wrap around you and you get involved in what's going on.

Some old faces fade out, new ones step forward and the members we know are scattered between the west coast and mid-west. New information about the zombies are gathered on several fronts, and the Maulers enforce damaging control and run amok. It's interesting to see how some characters change and develop in the strange new order of the world. Yet others seem to sink into what they are with a stubborn will.

There are some interesting innovations for water, food and fuel but it's all short term answers without long term goals. It's a bit like watching a bunch of traumatized ants running around crazy to rebuild a kicked anthill. Except less coordinated and somewhat a disaster just waiting to explode when the zombies come back to kick harder.

I hope the story grows even tighter together as I go into the final season of the series. I'm curious to see how they will answer the questions that have been brought up throughout the series.

An Exciting Follow Up to the First Two Seasons

We’re Alive the Third Season really is an amazing continuation of Michael and the other survivors. In the third season we see it pick up we’re the 2nd season left off. Then a little way through see a time jump. The plot keeps the listener engaged as well as excited to see what will happen next to our cast of characters. While the drama and action weren’t as well done as say in the first two seasons it was still masterfully crafted to keep not just the plot going but downright suspenseful at times. The cast that does the voices for the characters are back and do a great job in the third season. The sound effects and music is also very well done. All in all I would say the third season sits right next to the greatness of the first two seasons. I would recommend We’re Alive the Third Season to any fan of the series as well as anyone who likes audio dramas or well written zombie stories.

Boy did I think last season was chaotic. This one tops that I don’t know where this will go in season 4. The drama and zombies along with the group not being all together, so your flipping back and forth. This podcast audio format is fantastic. I don’t think I’ve ever been this intrigued and sucked into a series before until this one. Whoever produced this on this format did fantastic. You feel like your in the story with them. The author plot to the zombies is also nothing like I’ve ever read. The one in the pin stripped suit that calls the others.....weird.

Overall I’m loving this zombie infested series and I’m so sad I only have two season left. I can not wait to see what happens in season 4

The series took a kinda turn I didn't enjoy as much as the other seasons, all the characters I liked were too fragmented. The tension did kinda ramp up a lot towards the finale with that bombshell though.

The best thing I've listened to in a long time. The Walking Dead for your ears. This is a phenomenal production the voice actors are superb the story line is great. I am currently on season 4 and I've developed a connection with all of the characters and even ones I didn't like at first. This isn't just a story about Zombies but about the human factor as Well.. character development is superb and I ACTUALLY CRIED a few times and the SUSPENSE good Lord keeps me up listening all night. The sound effects enhance the story and this is most certainly Audio Drama at it's BEST. Also these aren't your average undead/run of the mill zombies We're Alive has found a way to reinvent them in a suspenseful and semi realistic and believable way). I highly recommend this to anyone who loves zombies or simply loves a suspenseful yet heartfelt story has a little bit for everyone

Audiobook

I'm glad this is the end of the series (so far). This is an audioplay with sound effects. So along with all the screaming and yelling there are gun shots and things falling, etc. After this third installment, I've had enough. It's like a horror movie, where you think everything will finally be okay and while the couple are hugging the supposedly dead bad guy is starting to sit up. It's got to the point where I'm thinking, "Not again!" when there's a new crisis.

I don't think I'll listen to the rest of the series.

Review the second, 2018: The tower falls and the people split up. We follow Michael and Saul on their different paths; Michael in Fort Irwin and Saul on his search for Lizzie. Lots of action in season 3!

Review the first, 2012: If you are not already listening to this podcast, you should be. It's awesome! Go listen! Do it now! It's free on iTunes.

Another great season from Wayland and his team. Excellent sound effects and a real sense of watching a movie without pictures. Loved the conclusion of the series with the storylines weaving back together again.

I listened to season 2 and 3 back to back and now have a dilemma ...do I listen to the start of season 4 (argh, two weekly updates!) or wait till season 4 is done and listen through.

Out of the first the seasons I feel the third was the best. Story was much better. Add that with the great voices and excellent sound effects and you have a very entertaining listen. I really can't compare this with a book because it's nothing like a book. It's basically an audio drama. A very good one at that.

The further this book goes the harder it is for me to follow or remember what's going on between the divided groups. With that said, this series is awesome and keeps getting better! Can't wait for the next/final season!!

Amazing character audio drama, go start listening now! You will be right there with the characters from the very beginning. Thrilling story, great range of characters and very good audio story experience. I got into it because of zombies, but this is really more of a character drama and a good one!
