He thought they were finally free...

Sheriff Dillion McBride's struggle to resist the eldest Morgan brother has finally ended. With the world drastically changed by a new virus, the old laws no longer apply, and he can love without repercussion. But just as he and Caleb stand on the verge of moving ahead together as mates, new complications threaten to destroy the happiness they've worked so hard to achieve.

Being seen as the bad boy has always had its perks, but when Caleb needs trust and understanding, he has only himself to blame when he finds neither. Still, Caleb is willing to do anything to protect his brothers and McBride from the band of marauding slammers, even sacrificing himself.

Now that their struggle to resist one another is over, will they have what it takes to stand strong and overcome new and far more deadly threats?

This is the worst cover. Why didn't the cover artist do what they did with previous covers? Which is to modify a well know athlete/actor. For Caleb I see 'The Rock' with long hair and for McBride a beefed up Ben Affleck. They could switch these but I don't see Ben Affleck with long hair. Your Welcome.

Well its finished. It was a great ride and I really enjoyed every book. This book was good however I felt the steaming passion in the previous 6 between Caleb and McBride fell a little flat. I think I was waiting for that 'ahh there it is' moment that didn't show. Otherwise great book. I wouldn't be surprised if more from 'world' didn't show up later on.
Thank you Veronica for the review that got me hooked.

Mixed feelings I have for sure!

Caleb and McBride FINALLY bloodbond.. after clearing the air. We find out the probable cause of the blood madness (sorry I'm NOT giving that away!!) And we get a happily ever after ending....

This (the ending) is probably what I had the most trouble with..all the buildup and everything is tied up in a nice neat bow.. and nowhere to go in the future? I'd love to see that they cross the lines with genetic material and end up with females again.. OR even better, that some of the males would be able to actually get pregnant and deliver, instead of using a machine to keep the species from dying out. I would totally love to see more from this world in the future where this is not an ending but the beginning of a world order in this world. Always hope :)

It was a good conclusion to it all. We did follow the story of McBride and Caleb from book one.
I stay by what I said after reading the first book: one longer book would have been ok.
But the series as a whole is worth reading for entertainment purposes.

Well this is book seven in the Seven Brothers for McBride. Hate to say it but I relaly liked the storyline. I like some M/M storylines but if they are mushy I tend to get bored with the characters. But in the storyline it is far into the future and a blood born pathogen has killed all the women, horses, dogs, and exotic animals. In it's place it has left Men of a different breed. So the world tries to evolve but giving class structure. The Blood drinkers ate the gentry men and require daily drinking then there is the slammers that are hard working class but a little submissive to gentrymen, then there is the thralls created for the slammers to have mates and they do not frink blood at all. then there is the grinders who are who gentrymen find to slack there lust till they find gentrymen they mate with. To say the least it all falls apart but not before Mcbride finds mates for all his slammers and saves the best for last for himeself. I liked I give it a 4.3 stars.

Overall, i like this series. Though I am now changing my original thought (which you can find here) and stating instead that this whole series is a prequel to the final book about Caleb and Dillion. Though i love the fact that Caleb was unconventional and although he is doing his best to seem heartless, he still has this big, squishy center that can only be accessed by the very closest of people to him.

It would've been nice though if there was an epilogue of their story with the kids. I find I was hoping there would be a little showing of how they will get the children they all want and the methods they will use to get DNA (I am definitely thinking of something wholesome. Honest.) Though what i wanted most was seeing their interaction once they all have their own kids of course.

Anyway, i am definitely looking forward to reading another series from Anitra Lynn McLeod!

It's good that not everything between them is suddenly fixed because they're now together. I'm also impressed that this was an entire series by McLeod without a single ménage relationship. There was some third party observation and guidance during sex but it completely fit the universe and was quite limited actually and not really ménage.

The longest day of the year is at the beginning of summer, June, not near autumn.

Hmm. I'm not sure I'm ready to be done with this universe and I'm not sure I like where it ended but I'm not sure I don't either.

This series was really entertaining with a fairly good plot. The only thing that I thought was a bit silly was the yes no yes no yes no part of McBride's and Calebs relationship.

There was also little to no real world building and it was only in this final book we talked about the genetics council etc

All in all this 7 books is a bit of light hearted fun.

Wow! I really did feel like this was worth the waiting. Caleb was deeper than expected and I was happy the way he and McBride got together finally. That cover thou...yuck. I feel sorry for that cover.

I loved the series but it can't end there. I just know there has to be a spin-off of the series or something.

I don't really like slave-themed books. But McLeod always manage to turn it into something sweet and loving.
