Mary Jane Staples is a pseudonym used by British author Reginald Thomas Staples (1911-2005). He is also published under the name Robert Tyler Stevens, R.T. Stevens, and James Sinclair.
In this book it is now 1958 and we see that Sammy and Boots are plagued by an activist who is against animals fur used for clothing. Will they be able to stop her ruining their businesses? A German who had been in prison for war crimes, is out to find out what happened to his brother, who had told Boots all about Auschwitz during the war. Tge brother, doesn't just want to see Boots he wants him to come to an end. One of the staff members is getting harassed by a man stalking her, putting notes in through the letter box, and Boots devises an unusual method for helping her. We don't see anything as usual of Susie's other family, Jonathan's family, etc. Emily, daughter of Rosie is turning out to be more like her grandmother Milly than any of the Adamses. As usual a good book, easy to read. Recommended.

This book in the series follows different stories of different characters - the ex-SS soldier whose brother committed suicide after falling to the British and who has a plot of those involved, a factory girl who is being stalked and is set up with a boy to confront the stalker, and the children of Boots and Polly (Gemma and James) and Rosie (Emily and Giles) enjoying the rock and roll life.
A very warm and light story to read about the Adams family - a book with some subtle humour especially when it comes to dealing with Mad Maj (Marjory Alsop) - full of likeable and not so likeable characters.
