Killing Kat

by Tony Butler

Katriona Travino has fifteen days to live before being executed by lethal injection. Miles Cavendish has been invited to witness her death. He can hardly wait, because he framed Katriona for the murder. Her execution will be his revenge. Years ago, when Katriona was sixteen he'd tried to rape her, but she had rammed her thumbs into his eyes, half blinding him. Serena, the girl Katriona supposedly murdered, was somewhere in the Bitterfoot Forests. He'd kidnapped her and taken her to Montana, where she had been forcibly married, to the son of the leader of a survivalist group. She would never be allowed to leave them, alive. But, evidence pointing to Kat's innocence was beginning to emerge, and DA Diane Anelloni and Serena's older sister, Rachel, were flying to Montana. Rachel had found a message on her answering service. According to the message, Serena, her kid sister, was very much alive.
