Fairy Godmothers, Inc.

Rate this book
Kate, an experienced Fairy Godmother, who’s enough of a romantic to frustrate her rigidly rulebound boss, has just received a specialty assignment from one of the company’s board of directors. Cinderella—Rellie for short—was placed with an appropriately wicked stepfamily years before, and now needs the dress, ball, and handsome prince to complete her happilyever-after. The fact that Rellie isn’t sure this is her dream come true—balls are fun, but princes tend to be less interesting than fluffy bunnies—isn’t something management considers a problem.

Complicating things a bit is Jon, the youngest son of the royal family, who meets Kate, and is smitten, but isn’t quite ready yet to reveal his true identity. After all, it’s his older brother Rupert who’s supposed to marry Rellie, which means pretending to be a lowly civil servant will give him the chance to spend more time with Kate. (As long as he can get the ball arranged, and stop Rupert from getting himself into trouble over his "selfactualization” business, he should have the perfect opportunity to explain everything and get started on making a little magic with the Fairy Godmother of his dreams.)

But, of course, things never ever happen as planned.

Do not be fooled into thinking that this is a YA book. Yes, the title makes you think that you're in for a YA rom-com... maybe even the cover in general. Don't be fooled! It's way better than any YA book anyways. This is a funny book!

Kate is a fairy godmother- can't even think of how odd an job this would be!- and she has to grant the wishes of the princesses, ensuring they get their happily ever after and a perfect life- gee, aren't they special. Her latest task is dear, sweet, dumb Rellie. No, this girl really is dumb. And here's the twist- instead of wanting a handsome prince to come and rescue her from her current situation- she wants BUNNIES! Say, what?! You heard me- bunnies!

Of course, the beau that is picked out for her isn't the brightest crayon in the box either. What a match made in space cadet heaven. Then of course there's John, le sigh. But like all good rom-com books, things go screwy.

This is a hilarious book, one that I highly recommend to all the romance lovers out there. Get in the game and find out the world of Fairy Godmothers and next time you're wishing on a star- think before you wish. I'm just saying!

I am vastly impressed with all of us, which means this is a perfect opportunity for all of us all to celebrate our mutual magnificence.

This book was just so much fun. I loved every minute of it. It had me laughing at the absurd things that are mentioned and done in the book. Overall, a book that will make you smile if not outright laugh.

This is a delightful and fresh retelling of Cinderella. The main character Kate is part of Fairy Godmothers, Inc. and is given implementation of the contract for the happily-ever-after package for Cinderella and the crown prince. The job weary Kate and her intern Ned then run into one hiccup after another that includes a younger brother, a King who lives hiding, a very dramatic Queen, uncomfortable glass slippers, a mischievous (and often drunk) best friend, a missing prince, potions, paperwork and the ultimate mean boss. What results is a lighthearted romantic romp that will have you giggling and smiling the whole way through.

Some of this story was brilliantly plotted (especially how it incorporated various fairytale tropes) and some of it was absolutely bonkers but I still had a ton of fun with it.

I'll say 3.7 stars. This book was really cute and funny and a satisfying twisted fairy tale. Romance fans should enjoy it, but there's enough other things going on that you can still enjoy it without being a big romance fan.

Kate is the fairy godmother assigned to Cinderella. "Rellie" has had an Appropriately Tragic Life with a Sufficiently Wicked Family, so her real relatives feel she deserves to marry a prince. While Kate's boss prefers to douse such couples with love potion, Kate tries to get couples together on their own. Kate herself finds romance, and Rellie decides she wants a different sort of happily ever after than this arranged marriage. This leads to changed plans, sneaking around, and other interesting scenarios.

First off I have to say that this book was HILARIOUS! I have never ever laughed so dam hard in my life. My ribs were killing me by the end of this book and boy oh boy what a fast read it became because I could not put it down that is how good it is. I also have to say that the book cover is so eye catching and so on point that when you read the book and get to the part where the cover comes into play you are going to laugh like I did.

Kate is a Fairy Godmother and she works for the best agency around called Fairy Godmothers, INC. She is a godmother who grants princesses their wishes and makes sure they get everything they have dreamed of and more. Kate's boss is a little eccentric to say the least but she is a mean boss to the core and she gives Kate an assignment with the thought's that Kate is going to fail. Who does that as a boss. Kate is assigned to help out Rellie who is a cute girl who is forced to work as a slave for her step mother. Rellie is a little on the dense side and when Kate approaches her in regards to her dream man and what she wants the response Kate gets rocks her world. See because Rellie wants a bunch of bunnies instead of a man. WTH is that all about... lord have mercy this Rellie is really trying. But what is worse is the guy Rellie is going to be paired with is not ripe apple if you know what I mean.

Rupert dear God Rupert is just as dense as Rellie and his younger brother John has to take care of the kingdom other wise there would be no kingdom and all would be lost for them. As John helps Kate get Rellie and Rupert together John falls in love with Kate. He is hoping to get his brother married off ASAP so he can spend time Kate. But just as they get one thing under control someone else or something else stands in their way. Will Kate and John ever get Rellie and Rupert married? Or will something else happen? Will John and Kate ever get some alone time to be with one another? Will they be pulled apart? This is a must read that will have you in stitches!

Ok so how do you write a review on a book that well was just that good?? Iam going to have a hard time at it so here is how I feel!!

Kate is a Fairy Godmother who works for one of the best agencies around, Fairy Godmother Inc. After having other jobs and failing at them she has become the Fairy Godmother that grants princesses their wishes and then makes sure they end up with prince charming! Then Kate’s boss, Bubbles, sticks Kate with the job to help Cinderella, Rellie, find her prince charming. Kate will surely have her work cut out for her. Once she meets Rellie, Kate soon fines out this is not gong to be just some normal quick job like most are for her but this one will have a boy names Jon involved in it. Jon is no ordinary boy he is the younger brother to the man Rellie is set to be married too. So when Kate and Jon meet things start to arise between them, and Jon is ready for his bother to wed so he can have what he feels is right, Kate! But things don’t always go so smooth and people can sometimes get in the way. Are they destined to be together? Find out in this fresh and funny read!

I loved it; it was funny, page truing and had the best story line I have read in a while. It had me hooked and just sucked in from page one! I loved the cover and as we all know the cover really sells the book but let me say no matter what DO NOT judge a book by its cover because this could have a black front and I am suggesting this one to all ages and all readers you will love it! Kate was just too awesome and to be a Fair Godmother seems pretty cool but I just loved her character so much! There was a lot of humor in this one and it made it for such a fun read!! Wardell did an awesome job keeping me hooked, I really felt part of this story and all that was going on. She really did a fascinating job explain things and always had me wanting for more! I really love Jon too, he is so funny and loving and just had an awesome part in this story. I hope to read more form Wardell, she sure is a great author!

Fairy Godmothers, Inc. was such a fun read. I was entertained from the first chapter to the last. I laughed out loud on more than one occasion. I loved Jon, Kate, Lawton, and even Rellie by the end. As a romance, I knew Jon and Kate would eventually end up together, but there were a few unexpected twists with other characters I didn’t see coming and I wasn’t sure quite how things would work out until the very end.

I read Fairy Godmothers, Inc. pretty much straight through. (The kids had to eat and I had to sleep, at least for a few hours.) Even though the book is approximately 300 pages long, it moved at a good pace and didn’t seem overly long. I was pulled into the story and thought it was well-written and pretty clean overall. The characters were interesting (Bubbles was effectively intimidating, considering her name), and I cared about what happened to them.

It’s obvious that the author had fun writing this story. A lot of fairytale, a bit of magic, some intrigue and a generous dose of romance all combine to make Fairy Godmothers, Inc. easily one of my favorite reads this year.

Content: There is some mild innuendo; a few side characters consume alcohol but I don’t recall the main characters ever partaking; one mild “curse” word; older teens and adults will probably enjoy this book

A hilarious twist on fairy tales. Though there were a handful of errors and typos riddled throughout the book, the story is well worth the read. It's the perfect sarcastic and cheesy fairy tale.

First my summary:
Kate is a fairy godmother. Not quite the bippiddy boppidy boo variety, but almost. Only she doesn't actually love the job. Or the tutu. And she especially isn't on board with the whole "true love" thing. She isn't the only fairy that feels that way. (Why did she take this job anyway? Don't worry you find out.)Unfortunately, there are other more pressing matters to take up her time. Her current assignment is a real dilly. From the beginning nothing seems to be going quite right. First off it's a slap dash rush request from the top and everything is going to be watched very closely. Not good. And the princess? Princess Rellie is a little...odd, to say the least. And very easily distracted. Speaking of distracted, that seems to be Prince Charming's middle name. But our Fairy Godmother isn't quite as attentive to the case as she should be either. Most of the fault of that lies in the lap of a certain charming young man she ran into on the first day of her assignment...

Next my opinion:
If I was the fan girl type of person I would be fanning and squealing right now. This story is just that perfect. The dialogue is hilarious. The MC is the perfect combo of spunky and sweet. With a bit of a rebellious streak and a slight case of doesn't fit in. And Mr. love interest? Well, if you like the jerk type you may be disappointed. No jerk symptoms here. But he is not Bingley or Darcy either. Maybe the Gilbert Blythe type? The charming tease. I don't know. You read it and then tell me what you think. But I think they are the perfect match.
Sure there are the usual fairy tale tropes. But then, that's what this retelling genre is all about. Giving an old classic a new twist.
Oh, and the princess side character isn't as bad as she sounds. I really don't like ditzy characters, but she is more space case than ditz. Not a really big difference, but it helps. She isn't the sharpest tool in the shed (most of the side characters are a bit addled, screw ball comedy style) but she is sweet and sincere and comes through when it counts. Until then, just be glad she isn't the mc.
So overall? Great main characters. Entertaining supporting cast. Witty dialogue. Fun world building. A few too many fairy tale tropes to take them all seriously, but hey! This isn't a dark retelling, it's a light hearted romantic comedy take on Cinderella from a young tulle covered fairy godmothers point of view. So put on your fluffy bunny slippers and slip on a tiara as you snuggle in for a fun slightly predictable tale.

*****FINAL RATING: 4.70 STARS*****

CATCHALL
Fairy Godmothers, Inc. surprised me by being one of my favorite reads of the year and ever. Books that rely heavily on humor tend to be hit-or-miss for me since I apparently have a weird since of humor, but I loved it in this one. The two main characters are enormously entertaining, the plot was the fairytale-esque one you expect it to be and there were more twists than I could count. It is a brilliant concoction of laughter and love set in a gorgeous fairytale world.

THE HEROINE
KATE
Kate is a fairy godmother whose job is to help poor, abused girls find true love and marry princes, much like a Cinderella story. She doesn't approve of her company using "true love" potion, however, which is basically an aphrodisiac, and she never uses it herself. She won me over to her side the minute I found that out about her. She doesn't blindly follow what she's told, but she does her best to ensure that he clients are actually happy. Kate is strong-willed, a little stubborn, and has a sparkling sense of humor. She's no-nonsense, maybe a little bit dense, but cute.

THE LOVE INTEREST
JON
Jon is a hero who definitely had me swooning; I admit it freely. He's a gentleman from the very beginning and is willing to do almost anything to win Kate over (not that he really needs any help there). He, like Kate, has a wonderful sense of humor. He's also the one in the castle who really runs everything, even though his mother and older brother should really be doing that. Even so, he takes over. Jon is kindhearted and puts other people first, though like anyone he has his selfish moments.

THE SECONDARY CHARACTERS
RELLIE
I love Rellie. For some reason, it's impossible not to love herm even though she's the type of person that if you met them in real life you'd be hard-pressed to resist the urge to shut them up violently. Her ditziness works for her somehow, and she's sweet without trying to be. I also love how she has her moments, and that even if she's often silly she's genuine. And whimsical.
NED
Ned is sensitive and yet passionate; he's in love with Rellie from nearly the beginning but he doesn't want to act on it because he wants to let her get her happy ending with the prince. I love that he puts her happiness above his own. We also see him change surprisingly a lot from the beginning to the end of the book.

THE PLOT
Fairy Godmothers, Inc. is officially an adult novel. The heroine and hero are both adults, as are the other characters. However, it reads very clean, and as far as I'm concerned it's got loads of crossover appeal. It's something I myself loved, and I have faith that YA readers will absolutely fall in love with it too. I think honestly that it is a book that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

I love the world, too. It's very definitely a fantasy world, but there's also a very modern feel to it. It's the type of fantasy world you want to crawl into and live in. It's set up so vividly that it's easy to imagine and there's so much to love about it. There are illusions to several fairytales and even a nod to Greek mythology. It's actually similar to the world of Ella Enchanted–the movie version, the book is way different–but like, infinitely better.

There were so many plot twists–a few of which I probably should've seen coming, but never did. It was more fun that way, though. This book was fluffy and fun but it was also really intense and it actually physically made my heart race. It was thrilling and I got myself really invested into the story. Whenever something unexpected happened it would make me jump a little bit.

The fairytale lore was so much fun too. It's definitely in some ways drawing from several different fairytales, but it is also in many ways its own unique plot. I've certainly never read anything like it although I really wish there was more like this. Kate is a spunky heroine, and she really made this story just come to life.

I honestly don't really have any complaints about this book. There's just nothing I really feel the need to complain about! Every once in a while, that has to happen. This was pure fluffy fun, and yet it was more than that.

THE ROMANCE
Surprisingly, I wouldn't call this instalove. I'm not sure why, bur I don't want to. Though the feelings seem to come quickly, they're not immediately acted upon, which I really liked. They get to know each other before that, even if there's strong attraction and chemistry on both sides. The romance is also messy–there were so many factors keeping everyone apart that at times it seemed unfixable. But hey, true love conquers all, right?

The secondary romance did happen a bit quickly for me, too quickly for me to really believe, but it didn't bother me all that much. I kind of just let it slide, but it's still notable.

THE WRITING
This book is beautifully written. It tells the story from the alternating POVs of Kate and Jon–with someone else featured a few times. I won't say what other characters we get. I thought it was confusing at first to suddenly add in the POV of a new character but when I understood why it was done I could just kind of relax and enjoy the ride. It was nice getting the chance to see things from a new perspective. And of course, this writing is so much fun. There's so much humor evident in every word, and the descriptions are gorgeous.

THE ENDING
You know that feeling when you're nearing the end of a book and everything is so messed up you feel like it can't possibly be fixed in time? That's how I felt reading this book. I was so, so worried that not everything would work out. There were definitely some unexpected endings. But I got the one I wanted, so I'm happy. I was very pleased with the way everything turned out and satisfied 100% with the way the story wrapped up. Neat and pretty, but with imperfections.

WRAPUP
Fairy Godmothers, Inc. is one of the cutest books I've ever read, easy. I am definitely looking forward to more from Jenniffer! I'm sure she'll come up with something even more brilliant and I cannot wait to read it. I would definitely recommend this–to adults, to teenagers, to fans of contemporary romance, to fans of fantasy an retellings. It's one of my favorite books, so it comes with my high praises. Even if you think it wouldn't normally be your thing I really think you should give it a try. You might find yourself pleasantly surprised.

FINE.

4.5 stars! This was refreshing, and exactly what I've been looking for: an innovative fairy tale type romance. It was funny, cute, magical, and well-paced. I liked Kate, Jon, Rellie, Ned, Lawton, and Rupert. Jon and Rupert's parents both amused and terrified me in equal measure. I liked that Kate was in her twenties, as opposed to the usual teenage girl, and the mix of modern things like lawyers and company policy with magic and carriages. It was fun. Overall, I'm really happy to have been able to read this book.

I first read this book when it was still on Fanfiction.net and I loved it then and I love it now.
The main characters were well rounded and the side kicks were hilarious. All the characters kept me engaged throughout the whole book and I would definitely reread this when I need a good laugh.

The begining started out a bit wonky. And I had to roll my eyes at the authors idea of being quirky by trying to fit in a quip at the end of every paragraph but by the middle it hit it's stride and I couldn't put it down. Satisfying ending and HEA

What happens when the fairy godmother falls in love with the prince?

Kate is a fairy godmother, but in this world that's not a given: she had the skills for it, sure, but she was the one who decided to go into the fairy godmother business. Her boss is a monster (...not literally), but the job has generally been fine...and then it happens: she meets Prince Charming, and they hit it off, and then suddenly Prince Charming has to step in to fill his big brother's shoes in a fairytale.

Although this is perfectly appropriate for a YA audience, this isn't really a YA book. More like a very fluffy, very clean, romance novel. I wouldn't have minded a few more details about previous jobs Kate has done (not quite sure if she's dropping in and out of worlds, or just in and out of kingdoms...I get the sense that the fairytale world is rather amorphous!). But it's definitely a fun, fresh take on the Cinderella story.

This story was filled with loads of fun. I received this book from the publisher and was excited to read it. I love fairytales and retellings. I didn’t know that I would be laughing out loud while I read the book. I was pleasantly surprised with the tone of the book and the hilarious characters. A little warning the book is a bit on the cheesy side but in a very good way. The story did stay true to the fairytale traditions of Cinderella… Fairy Godmother, Glass Slipper, Evil Stepmother and Stepsisters, Prince Charming. It did have all the elements needed but told from the point of view of the Fairy Godmother with a bit more of a modern edge. It was just great!

Kate is a Fairy Godmother, it is her job to fulfill the contract of clients when it comes to matching up their loved one. She is handed an very difficult contract (without knowing it would be difficult) to fulfill in one week. She must match up Cinderella with Prince Charming, the one that is heir to the throne. From the beginning the job is messed up. One week and no ball planned, there is a problem with the prince in question, and Kate herself seems to be falling in love. Loads of trouble. She must fight her feelings and work with what she has before time runs out for Cinderella and herself.

Loved this book. The style of writing was simple and very entertaining, the tone was built around humor, and the characters were all a mess and kept me on my toes.

I really enjoyed the overall tone of the book. It was not the original dark fairytale tone, or the sweep me off my feet Disney movie tone, it was “I can’t believe this is happening and I can’t stop laughing” tone. The characters were a bit over the top, the story was humorous, the Fairy Godmothers had a knack for messing up, and the royal family was very interesting.

The plot of the story was really creative and original. The idea may have come from an age old fairytale but the author did an exceptional job of making it her own. I really liked the idea of Fairy Godmothers working for a company and are assigned to those who have been contracted out to be matched. This makes sense to me, why some got one and some didn’t. I also enjoyed the story being told from the Fairy Godmother’s perspective. Cinderella’s Godmother had to go through so pretty hot hoops to get the job done. If Fairy Godmother’s Inc existed, I would want Kate, she is one determined Fairy Godmother.

The characters really got me going. Kate is a great character. She was written well and so very likable. I really can’t think of anything I didn’t like about her. She was a bit dense at times when it came to Jon but she was still great. Cinderella “Rellie” was a hoot. She cared more about the color pink and bunnies than becoming a princess but she would do anything to have a bit of fun, wear a pretty dress, and get away from her evil family. She seemed to act a bit immature for her age but I figured it was from being cooped up away from society for so long. Jon is a super nice guy. I can’t say I swooned over him, but he was totally lovable.

All the characters had something amazing and fun to add to this story. Add together quick pace, fun story, quirky characters, and a lot of mishaps and you get one great fairy tale. Another note of something I really loved, its an adult book, but very clean and reads like a young adult.

It’s just one of those books that one reads just to escape reality and have a good time. I know I loved it and I am looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

We get a lot of retellings of fairy tales these days yet even though this is a retelling it isn’t..( if that makes any sense) This is about fairy godmothers its cute fluffy and adorable!
Synopsis
In a world where fairy tale situations are as much a fact of life as death and taxes, everyone knows hiring Fairy Godmothers, Inc. is the best way to assure that your beautiful daughter or enchanted frog of a grandson will get the happily-ever-after he or she deserves. Sure, sometimes a little love potion is required to make sure those quotas stay up, but what Prince Charming doesn’t know won’t hurt him.

Kate, an experienced Fairy Godmother, who’s enough of a romantic to frustrate her rigidly rule-bound boss, has just received a specialty assignment from one of the company’s board of directors. Cinderella—Rellie for short—was placed with an appropriately wicked stepfamily years before, and now needs the dress, ball, and handsome prince to complete her happily-ever-after.

(As long as he can get the ball arranged, and stop Rupert from getting himself into trouble over his “self-actualization” business, he should have the perfect opportunity to explain everything and get started on making a little magic with the Fairy Godmother of his dreams.)

But, of course, things never ever happen as planned.

This is an amazing book like seriously go and pick it up! I stumbled across this by accident and it instantly looked amazing- I am a sucker to murder mysteries, fairy tale and their retelling and Greek mythology retellings.
This book is told from the point of view of Kate a fairy godmother who works for a corporation who get paid by hooking up people with their prince charming and so on but if it doesn’t work they always have Tru- love which makes them fall in love! Now the stereotypical image of a fairy godmother is an old lady in a dress with a wand... but I couldn’t be more wrong.
Kate is just amazing in this book but I think that Cinderella or Rellie out shone her, Rellie is just amazing!! I loved her character not often in fairy tales that we have Rellie being this bubbly cute person.
All the characters in this story have a twist on them even the prince in most fairy tales we have him being this regal posh and wonderful man and let me just tell you he isn’t like that in this book ;D
John is the love interest and he is adorable I love him and Kate’s relationship its soooo CUUUTEEE!!!! It’s really sweet and there are no love triangles which is awesome!!! I can get fed up of them after a while...
But what really hooked me into this was the plot- at first it was a great read funny and cute and but towards the end how it proceeded it was amazing!!! And soooo funny!!!!! I got more and more hooked as I read it.

Don’t let the name fool you…this is not a YA where all the little characters are happy and safe and looking for their ‘Happily Ever After.’ Oh, no…this is way better than that! This is an adult fiction title that is literally filled with humor, innuendos and characters you will not forget.

Fairy Godmother, Inc. is a very lucrative business used by one and all. Clients from various kingdoms hire these people to get their happy ending. Kate Harris is one of the fairies that’s hired and she is absolutely, unforgettably sarcastic. She’s a little down on her job and is stick of wearing the fluffy blue tulle skirt, which is the company uniform. She has to deal with clients (Queens, etc.) who want their daughters to have a nobleman who has been enchanted into a dragon, or perhaps a stallion - they want that fantastical scene where their child kisses the frog and gets a truly stunning prince.

Kate’s boss, Bubbles, is a little mean. She wants the company to run well, yet her fairies aren’t using the True Love ‘cologne’ when they’re supposed to, they’re forgetting the clause in the client contract that says they do get swans on the big day…basically, the boss is angry at the employees. So the day she has to give Kate a major contract for a young princess to get that magic day, Bubbles already feels like Kate is going to screw it up.

Kate is assigned Rellie - a good girl, funny, sweet, beautiful, violet eyes, yet dumb as a brick. Rellie works in the ‘cinders’ all day for her evil stepmother (get it?) And when she meets up with Kate and learns she can get that magical day and marry the prince from the kingdom of Somewhere, she basically doesn’t want it. That’s not her wish, you see. She would rather have some fluffy bunny rabbits to play with. But Kate needs to get the job done or risk failure and, most likely, unemployment.

Rupert Charming is the heir of the kingdom who is a bit of a rake. And let’s just say that if Rupert and Rellie do get together and have children, the children’s IQ will be about negative ten. Rupert does have a younger brother named John who actually does all the work and keeps the kingdom running. He discovers Kate and tries to help her with her plan. While helping her, John falls in love with her, and wants nothing more than to just have the ball and get Rupert and Rellie together so he can get a date with Kate.

As the plan goes seriously awry with all kinds of technical difficulties (a demon dog that protects Rellie’s family; no pumpkins to make a carriage out of; a princess who definitely does not want glass slippers because her feet could be cut up; a missing prince; and the fact that there is some dark magic being used that makes people fall in love with someone on sight even though they really love someone else - put this all together and you receive a story that is beyond hysterical.

This is not said very often, but after reading this incredibly fresh tale, fans will hope that Ms. Wardell is making a series out of these Fairy Godmothers. Even the best friend, Lawton, and Kate’s assistant, Ned, are downright hysterical! A+ across the board!

- The writing style killed this book for me. My mind kept wandering, and I had a hard time focusing on the story. There was A LOT of telling not showing.

- I really struggled to get through this. I wasn't connecting with the story or the characters. The book is shorter, so I finished, but I wanted to quit several times.

- There were a few things about the story that didn't make sense to me, like I don't understand why Rellie and Jon know what happened to them. Why would you make a love potion that people could fight against?

- I wouldn't recommend picking this up.

This is the most hilariously entertaining fairytale retelling of Cinderella’s story that I’ve ever read. And this time, it wasn’t just Cinderella who got a happy ending but also her fairy godmother.

Being a fairy godmother was not the easiest job in the planet but despite the fact that she hated her boss, frustrated with idiot clients and disliked doing reports, Kate loves her job very much. She likes to play cupid and to see two people fall madly in love with each other is the best payment she could ever receive. That was also the reason why she strongly disagrees to the mandatory use of True Love potion that the company issues because although it made her job a lot easier, it is against everything that she stands for. So even if it takes a lot more effort and elaborate orchestration to make two people have a happy ever after, she would rather do it than use the potion.

But when a special assignment was given to her and she was only given a week to arrange everything, she knew that this wasn’t going to be one of the more pleasant happy-ever-after she has to pull off. And that was exactly what happened.

I love this book. Everyone in here, aside from Bubbles, was hilarious. So I suggest if you’re going to read this book, don’t read it in public places because people might think you’re crazy when you suddenly burst out laughing. Learn from my mistakes, okay?

Kate was the best fairy godmother I’ve ever met. She has a great sense of humor, dedicated to her work, honest to what she believes in, fights for what she believes is right and she will sacrifice her job and risk being imprisoned just to save the people she cared the most.

Prince Jon also shared that trait. He takes a lot of responsibility for being the only rational person in his dysfunctional Royal family. And because of that he doesn’t have a lot of time to have fun. Good thing, Kate came to his life (or should I say, she “tripped over” to his life). They complemented each other in a lot ways and they were perfect together. They clearly deserved a happy ending after what they had been through.

Overall, Fairy Godmothers Inc. was awesome. I wouldn’t elaborate much on what happened to Cinderella in this book because I might spoil everything. Anyway, if you wanted a laugh-out-loud fairytale story with a twist, you should probably try this.

I read an ARC of Fairy Godmothers, Inc., last week, given to my courtesy of Jolly Fish Press in exchange for an honest review.

Kate is a citizen of a fairy tale land full of arranged and paid-for happy endings, love potions, and minimum wage fairy godmother jobs. Kate is stuck in a job she doesn't particularly adore because she's not good at anything else. She receives an assignment from a board member of her company to make sure his niece receives a happily-ever-after with the crown prince, who happens to be having an identity crisis. Rellie (short for Cinderella) is a sweet, if somewhat silly girl, and Kate's frustrations are lessened with the help of a charming stranger. One who conveniently forgets to mention that he's the crown prince's brother. And that's just the set-up!

I try to read and review the books of my fellow JFP Authors, but I wasn't particularly excited to get to this one. I thought it would be a too-cutsy tween novel. And don't get me wrong: it kind of was. But it was DE-LIGHT-FUL!!! I totally loved it.

Wardell can unleash humor and sarcasm with the best of them. She writes Kate like a deserving but over-worked customer service rep dealing with divas. Her frustrations are so relatable that you just can't help but root for her. Jon has to deal with a silly and difficult family (who doesn't) and on top of it all, Wardell manages to poke fun at the fairy godmother/happily-ever-after conventions we've put on our fairy tales in a way that is both light-hearted and hysterical. She combines those conventions with the labor force/taxes/legal ramifications of our world to make a world that's totally new, yet familiar enough to create humor.

To me, it smacked a bit of Pixar's Shrek films: making fun of the conventions but also putting a fresh new twist on them. I mean, who thinks about the hazards of wearing glass slippers to a dance, or how much our heroine could sue for if the prince steps on her toes? Awesome!

If you're looking for a fun, quick, highly entertaining read that will keep you chuckling and also melt your heart a bit, this is the book for you! Here's to bibbity-bobbity-boo!

The Basics:

Kate works for an evil corporation, but then, don’t most people? In Kate’s case, this means arranging tidy happily-ever-afters for the inconvenient children of wealthy families, with the help of a mind-altering drug called True Love when necessary. When she’s assigned her biggest case yet, the ditzy, sweet, and utterly disinterested Cinderella, and finds herself working closely with Prince Jon of the kingdom of Somewhere in the process, she starts to question what she’s willing to do for a paycheck.

The Downside:

As can be expected of a new take on the already often-mocked story of Cinderella, Fairy Godmothers, INC. has a joke or two that might be a tad on the predictable side or run just a little too far into the ground.

The Upside:

The jokes are nonstop enough that there’s always a good one right around the corner (“Who could possibly confuse fur with glass?” “This is why we only use fresh pumpkins!”), to make up for the few groaners.

The story’s also more than an excuse to string together a lot of digs at the brothers Grimm. If you like Terry Pratchett, Pixar movies, or any manner of fractured or re-imagined fairytales, I guarantee you’re going to love this one. It’s both hilarious and full of heart.

Kate strikes that elusive balance of toughness and vulnerability, Cinderella has the even rarer adorable (as opposed to irritating) daftness, and Prince Jon is genuinely charming, far from the typical princely nonentity. They don’t get away with a low-stakes adventure just because of the humor element either. When first introduced, True Love and the general evils of Fairy Godmothers, INC. seem like the usual lighthearted jabs at corporate culture and fanciful magical fiction, but when the drug’s effects threaten the main characters, the very sinister edge to the situation comes to the surface.

The serious side of Fairy Godmothers, INC. never stops the laughs. It does exactly what it should do: make it absolutely necessary, for reasons other than the promise of more jokes about banana-shaped carriages, to turn the page.

I received Fairy Godmothers, Inc. in return for an honest review from the publisher Jolly Fish Press. Kate lives in a fairy tale world working as a fairy godmother bring happy ever after’s to her clients. Kate receives a special request for her to complete a Cinderella package from one of the board of directors as fast as possible. While on her way to meet her newest client she happens across a handsome guy who helps her find her clients house. However he doesn't just leave once he delivers her instead he sneaks into the house to spend more time with Kate. Her client is Rellie who’s been living with her wicked stepmother and sisters since she became an orphan.

What seems like an easy Cinderella story will push her to the limit as she learns that Rellie doesn't desire to marry the prince but is more interested in sparkly dresses and bunnies. With Kate’s new assistant as she’s calling him to keep him from getting in trouble the pair will teach Rellie to dance, and create a ball perfect for her to meet her prince and fall in love. However love is never that simple and Jon isn't just a businessman he’s the prince’s younger brother. As if Kate doesn't have enough to do with Rellie she’s falling for Jon, avoiding her angry boss until the prince goes missing. Suddenly everything has changed secrets come out and they have to risk it all.

A unique fairy tale that captures the imagination and keeps the reader entertained till the very end. I found Fairy Godmothers, Inc. to be brilliantly written, a complex romance filled with magic, humor and fairy tales bits. I think the concept is awesome, I love the idea of buying a contract to give someone a happy ever after, plus there are so many other little fairy tale bits woven throughout the story. The characters are easy to connect with you can’t help falling in love with both Kate and Rellie they both stole my heart. I couldn't put the book down I gobbled it up in just a few short hours staying up late to finish I wanted to know how the story would end. I hope to see more books set in this incredible world.

If Goodreads allowed 1/2 stars, I would have rated this a 3.5 - I have bumped it up to 4 stars.

The book is a really cute story that has taken the well-known tale of Cinderella and turned it up a few notches.
The narrator is Kate, and she is an official Fairy Godmother, working for Fairy Godmother, Inc. Her newest client is Cinderella (Rellie for short) and it's up to Kate to give Rellie her happily-ever-after. The only problem is that one person's idea of happily-ever-after can be entirely different from someone else's dream come true.

I love the original fairy tales and I really love all the retellings we're seeing of late.
Overall I really liked the idea of this story and thought it was a cute and fresh approach to an old favorite. The townships were places called Somewhere, Over There and Nearby, etc. and I thought the names were brilliantly clever. The characters were funny and fairly relateable - for the most part - I especially loved Rellie's enthusiasm.
I really wish that Rellie's enthusiasm had rubbed off on me a little more however because while I was reading I continued to feel somehow disconnected from it all - and unfortunately, I can't even put my finger on *why* it felt off to me (and I realize that comment might not be very helpful if I don't even know what was wrong), but there was *something* that kept me from being totally immersed in the story and it made me a little sad. But I can't deny that I was definitely interested throughout and the fresh take was entertaining, so I still enjoyed the story as a whole.

I would recommend Fairy Godmothers, Inc. to mature teens/females looking for new-age fairytale retellings. It was a quick and fun read and would be a great weekend filler or for those times when you're in the mood for something sweet and fluffy.

I received a signed copy of this book for free through a Goodreads first read giveaway. Thank you Goodreads, Jennifer Wardell (the authors facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/JennifferWar...) as well as the publisher http://www.jollyfishpress.com for the opportunity to read this story.
