Rate this book
Do you believe in Second Chances? Can you forgive the one you love?

This is a story of forgiveness and second chances. In this journey you’ll see as Jeremy and Malanie rebuild their friendship, trust and love they once felt for each other as kids, blossom into something magical as adults.

Malanie was Jeremy Wood’s high-school sweetheart. He adored her and would do anything for her, but everything changed the moment he overheard another guy talking about her, and on that night he betrayed the only girl he ever loved.

Malanie Johnson, came from a broken and abusive home. Jeremy became her saving grace, the only person she trusted, up until that night. She never thought the boy she loved would hurt her in such a way. He was the only person to keep her grounded, but once he betrayed her trust, she had no one and nowhere to run to. So, she made the only decision she could at the time.

A turn of events pulled them away from each other, and it was a turn of events that brought them back together again. Ten years later they’re reunited. Can ten years of pain, suffering and lost be forgiven? Will their past and present keep them apart?

True love is always forgiving

This is the love journey of Melanie and Jeremy. These two met while in high school they had a lot of obstacles to jump and move out-of-the-way all because they were at interracial couple students and teachers and parents did like that these two were together but they persevered until one fateful night. A misunderstanding broke them up but not before Melanie became pregnant Many years later these two met again after living life with its ups and downs. And still they had feelings for each other all these many years later. But as always with this couple things just didn't go their way. This was a lovely story very realistic you may cry and cheer for them throughout the story I know I did I recommend the story to you.

Another book from the "Best Friend Series" by Ancelli.

Another great and riveting read. This is Malanie was Jeremy's story. Again the author jumps right into the story of how young love went wrong.

This is one of my favourite of the series because they both have to forgive each other and its a very romantic read. The way after all those years the power of their feelings for each other was still present. Forgiveness and love is a very powerful thing. I stayed up to the wee hours to finish it.

I loved it!

OMG, I loved it. This was a sad but great love story. Best friends falling in love then torn apart by a mistake and then miraculously reunited years later. Jeremy and Malanie are made for each other even after a mistake destroys her trust in him. I love that Jeremy stepped up and I'm glad Malanie didn't let her choice ruin her life. Alanie is adorable!!
Ancelli I love all your books and this one might be my favorite. Nice job!

Closure

The strength of a mother is unparalleled and her love limitless. Sometimes the most selfless thing to do is to give up your child so they have a better chance.

This book is a story about that kind of love and selflessness. It made me angry, sad, scared, happy and then I was over the moon at the closure for all of the people.

Ancelli writes the most emotional griping and honest stories about conditions in life. Along the way she teaches us little something about ourselves. I love this lady and her work!!

5.00 stars. A lovely endearing story of young love surviving into adulthood despite 'the slings and arrows of the outrageous 'misfortunes' of hateful prejudices, an unwanted pregnancy, homelessness, physical and mental abuse, lies and false accusations and interfering people. The author did a great job of presenting the love story of Jeremy Wood and Melaney Johnson and how each forgave the other for mistakes.

Forever Love and Second chances!

Wow, Jeremy and Malanie truly make you want to help fight their battle toward happily ever after. Young love turns into adult love for two high school sweethearts getting their second chance when a no-good man (Luis) tries to hurt Malanie, ultimately making her lose her baby. Jeremy was indeed my hero. He is a man of honor, a wonderful father, son, brother, and friend. Malanie is my heroine because she suffered some much but remained strong and determined to make sure her daughter, that she didn't have a chance to raise, still knew she was loved and was always in her mother's heart though they had been apart for years. This story made me sad, cry, smile, get angry, and fist bumps myself when these two finally showed all those trying to destroy them that they were forever. Alanie was so sweet and special; she made her parents proud. And baby Faith was a blessing. I hated Luis, Briana, and even Jeremy's mom. Glad Malanie's mom became a positive person in their lives. Jeremy's dad was great, so no wonder he raised a son worthy of all a man should be and most proud of. I loved this story.

The title alone says so much about this book. Jeremy Wood met Malanie Johnson when they were in High School. He loved her and the ground she walked on. She too thought Jeremy was probably the man she would spend her life with. However, alcohol and a lie nearly caused them to never see a HEA. Malanie lost something she could never replace, and gained a bundle that was not wanted.
Jeremy followed his father into the military. Malanie became an accountant and suffered tremendously over the years. A chance fight outside of a diner reunited these two. However, on that day Malanie suffered another agonizing blow to her heart and gained something too.
This book is a journey these two take that brings life around full circle.

Ms. Ancelli, another hit about what so many women have to face and make choices because of pain and circumstances...Great Read

Just wonderful..🤗

These characters are so relatable. They are written in a way that makes them jump off the pages and into your heart. A second chance romance for the ages with so many real world issues from domestic abuse, envy, racism and abuse of power to name a few. It was so interesting and heartwarming to watch Malanie & Jeremy grow into mature loving strong and grounded people against so-many odds. The book definitely had me in my feelings and I loved every bit. Well done..👍

Sappy......but good

I wish he had told Laura that he had found everything he needed and wanted in Malanie. Laura was less than she was instead of a kickass accountant that made more money than he did. I love that he didn't talk bad about Malanie to her daughter. There is so much to unpack in this story. Read it you won't be disappointed. I don't mind reading a long book with loads of errors if it's a good one. I didn't mind fixing the errors.

A Different Twist

This was a different twist to the common story line where the woman is usually the one taking care and raising the baby and the man walked away. This time the mother has walked away and left the baby with the father to raise. And like millions of women do he steps up to the plate. He is raising his daughter and they run into the mother and she is the one to prove herself to the father and daughter. Good story line. Enjoyed it!

This was really good! It covered some touchy subjects, that were handled lightly, but at times you may really not want to go deep! This couple did get that second chance to renew their love, after outside interference from bad actors tried to derail their relationship!

3.0🌟

I am a huge Ancelli fan, and this book, while not as “deep” as some of her other books, it was a satisfactory read. The story was a very sweet, engaging love story. Malanie and Jeremy were two awesome, likable people. They fell in love as high school seniors, but several misunderstandings and unforeseen circumstances drove them apart. After years of unsuccessful searching for one another, they found each other by mere happenstance. Several people and unfortunate events threatened to tear Malanie and Jeremy apart but they persevered to overcome these obstacles.

Although generally, this was a satisfactory read, some aspects of the story and certain negative experiences that impacted their lives seemed contrived and somewhat far-fetched. Better editing is definitely warranted in this book. Notwithstanding my less than glowing comments, I did enjoy the story overall.

Great read. Talking about stepping up. Malanie Johnson and Jeremy Wood are high school sweethearts that crash and burn because of a misunderstanding. They eventually find one another again. Jeremy steps up big time in handling his responsibilities of being a single teenage father. Malanie goes trhough and faces her obstacles on her own and eventually finds her way to the other side of pain. The two reunite under tragic circumstances but rediscover the love they still have one another.

Full circle

Malanie and Jeremy's love came full circle. They both endured things in their youth to make them a better and stronger adult. Alanie was so precious, and I loved her. This story was well developed and executed. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and would recommend others.

This is a beautiful love story and I love the themes of found love, first love, renewed and restored love. The abuse in the book is heartbreaking but a topic that needs to be honestly discussed and I liked how the author did not skirt the issue or cover up the fact that you can be strong and get away and heal-you deserve more.
