I'm not sure what to think about numerology. I've studied some gematria, which is similar, and I just never really connected with the idea. Yes, I believe that the words we use can be revealing about our inner attitudes and can perhaps be predictive of where we're headed in life but I'm more wishy-washy on Arbeau's assertion that our words literally manifest our lives. If it was that simple, I think more people would have figured it out and talked their way out of problems.

Personal feelings aside, Arbeau is clearly an expert on the topic and if you're looking for an introduction to numerology, this book is a great place to start.

This was a wonderful book that really shows us how we can use the energy of words to create a new life for ourselves. How we use words, what words we use to define our lives, how we speak to others, have made our life as it is now. Imagine the wonderful, magnificent things you can create when you alter your vocabulary to really assist you in making a great new life for yourself. Anything is possible.

this is more of a note to self review.

2.5/5

so I’ve been slightly interested in numerology it’s been a while but I had never dived into it. I had a dream with numbers once a few years ago, so maybe that’s where my interest started. I don’t recall having any other dreams related to numbers tho.

first, the copy I found online was quite messy in some parts, so that made it a bit hard for me to completely understand where I was in the book. I found out when I finished that I skipped a few of the first chapters but after browsing for important information, I kind of realized I didn’t missed much, since the important information was in fact more prominent in the middle of the book, although I did read some of the introductions (there were 15 and it seemed unnecessary).

when I started reading I was really interested and felt quite good about what I was reading, but somewhere in the middle towards the end, I became a little bit skeptical because she says something about not using words like ‘maybe’ or ‘can’t’ even tho she uses one or another, and I was like how am I not gonna use those words when there are situations where you kind of HAVE TO, or at least it’s simple and direct to use them to express something, so it seemed the message of the book became a little muddled to me, although at the end she says that no word is good or bad, but it’s that every word has positive and negative vibrations, and both words I mentioned were included in the list at the end of the book. so yeah, I just didn’t get a firm positive feeling about actually not using words like that, cause they are necessary sometimes, in some situations, so maybe is that you should avoid using them often? I guess so…

ok, but the book is actually interesting and I do like the idea of words having more meaning than we think they do and how they can shape our life through our thoughts and speech or when they are written. I do think there’s truth to that. we should use more positive words even if we are talking about something negative. but like most things, I do believe there has to be a balance. I personally don’t want to focus too much on each word, each vibration, each meaning, number, etc, because I believe it would be a drag to over-analyze every single word, and like the book says, manifesting should be fun and you should take from it only what resonates with you, and leave the rest out.

but it’s also important to note that this is my first time / attempt to really go deep into numerology, it’s the first book I read on the subject, I’m not going to expect that’s everything. there’s a book out there that I might resonate more and that will make more sense to me. there’s this long journey ahead of me to expand my knowledge, and I guess this book was an interesting introduction to the subject.

so in conclusion, the study in numerology seems to be interesting but at the same time it makes me really wonder if that’s really true, that every word and their vibration will have a different meaning even with the same number (makes me think about that section about how India and California are both 10s but have different meanings, I still don’t know whether I believe it or not). so I guess, I have to study more to understand where I stand. BUT, like I said, I do believe in using words more thoughtfully to shape our lives / destinies. words are powerful, but not on their own, like the book says, it’s also the power WE put into them, the meaning we assign them.

As with most "Law of Attraction" books this one touches on how "Thoughts" become "Things" but in a twist it uses "Numerology" and placing value on the words you Think, Speak and Write. I don't think it's super in depth as to how to go about changing your thoughts, words and writing. But it does teach you about the value, not in the numerical sense, of what you say can impact your life. The saying, "You can't live a positive life with a negative mind" is very true. Thinking, speaking and writing more positively in small ways will manifest in much bigger ways in your life in the long run. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. At the back of the book are power words, both positive and negative. I am happy to say both my husband and I use many more positive words than negative. Practice makes perfect so we will be working on using more positive and eliminating the negative ones from our vocabulary. It will take time. Great easy read and fun too. I enjoyed doing the numerology with the words. Highly recommend for anyone interested in "The Law of Attraction" or "Manifesting"

“The words you use are creating and shaping your reality moment by moment; choose them wisely.”

I’m always up for self improvement, and I liked the idea of changing the words I used in order to live a more positive life. I didn’t realize this book would be based entirely on numerology. I’ve never taken numerology seriously, but I tried to keep an open mind while reading. Ultimately I was unable to believe that the numerical values of words somehow magically matched their actual definition. I couldn’t understand how we were supposed to weed out the “bad” words when each numerical value conveniently had both a positive AND negative meaning.

Overall, the message of becoming more mindful of the words we use and their power to shape our lives is a very good one. I just feel that the whole numerology aspect was unnecessary. But seeing that the author is an “internationally recognized celebrity numerologist,” I guess that couldn’t be avoided.

thoughts become things, and words have energy attached to them.
are you using the correct words to attract the things you really want?
if you are getting stale mushrooms instead of fresh ones, then maybe you should look at the words you are using.
this book is easy to understand and makes total sense.
very good guide to differences between energy of similar words.
helps to use as a "check" to make certain you really are going to get what you want!

This book i bought accidentally when i did window shopping at a bookstore. I call it my fate book. I like this book and the energy of my name's number is really accurate. So then, as the suggestions of the book, i write and read the positive words before sleeping at night. This book helps me a lot and i feel my life is getting better. Thanks Michelle.🥰🥰

Words are equivalent to numbers and have values - it's all about numerology. I found it a bit strange. I'll stick with trying to use positive words. So on a positive note if you can get your head around numerology this is a great book!

I do like the idea of positive thinking, the law of attraction etc, but not so sure about numerology. Also I must confess that the idea of words having specific 'vibration frequencies' is new to me, and I am yet to be convinced. However the overall message of positivity is a worthwhile one, and I will be reading this in more detail.
