The book does have a good amount of content. It has a very positive view of the afterlife and people continuing to grow after they have died. However, the main downfall of this book is that it does not address dangerous entities or dangerous situations. For as many good dead a medium will encounter, their will be an equal number of negative and possibly dangerous dead. Teaching people how to get into working with spirits, but not giving them the tools to defend themselves is a major disservice with possibly dangerous consequences. I also wished that it addressed moving on the dead and possible trauma that such an act can entail. While this book is a good starting point for working with spirits, it is not a complete starting point. The book will be the most useful to someone who is also looking into other sources and especially means of psychic protection.

4. 4 plus- very readable. Good meditations. You probably need to be a bit new agey to enjoy. I like how flexible she is in her definitions (not throwing Jesus at you but respecting people who channel through Christian symbolism, for example.) I appreciate how she doesn’t believe in negative spirits. Says to get counseling if you are feeling demons because it’s probably your old “stuff.” I’ve had too many “moments” not to take this book seriously, so see this as an idea of what to do with breakthrough messages and synchronicities and hear what other people do with it.

I really enjoyed this book. A lot of what the author believes and practises resonated well with me. It was inspiring to hear the different experiences of others. It has a variety of exercises that can be practiced, if wanting to learn or improve one’s skills with mediumship. Or even if someone is just interested in this subject. The narrator did a nice job with the book. I give this book 3.75 stars.

This might be a good beginner book for folks interested in mediumship. There’s so much more in the spirit world than described here. It covers the basics.

I really don’t think it’s complicated to communicate with those who have passed over. The book is full of meditations, visualizations, breathing, candles, alters, light, colors, symbols, angelic guides. It might be helpful to have a ritual or routine, but simple is usually always better.

Simple is better, but I’m glad the author suggests beginning each session with some form of protection prayer. I wouldn’t call them evil spirits or demons, but there are definitely prankster spirts who might join if told they are not welcome and are prohibited. All spirits are not interested in the greater good.

Just because someone dies they aren’t magically bestowed all knowledge and wisdom. They are the same people as when on earth although they can see some things more clearly. My advice is to weigh important decisions before taking final action on their instructions. Passed on individuals are learning too and some are in higher grades than others. There were really clueless people I didn’t trust to give me advice, and they probably haven’t studied enough there to be giving good counsel from spirit yet.

Some of those who have gone before might not want to visit with us or they might not know how to for a while. I’m not so sure they always want to come for a visit. Everyone we contact (or contacts us!) is not a “loved one.” I’m not sure why she kept using that term.

I love that she explains a little about trapped souls and helping them move on toward the light.

Describing different medium types is also helpful. The author is very encouraging and that’s always a good thing in a how-to book!

Wasn't too impressed with this. The summary made it seem more like a book on how to discover your mediumship abilities and less on Dillard's experiences in sessions with clients. Dillard spent the first 189 pages going over the types of spirits and the lessons she learned on how to help them and their love ones. The last 3 chapters were dedicated to discovering and cultivating the readers gifts. Which is fine it's a good read whatever. I still would have picked it up anyway. However, it felt like a little bit of false advertising and inaccurate descriptions of the book. I also felt like it repeated it self multiple times, had the same formula for every chapter and got very boring towards page 120.

This is really more about the readings the author has done for other people rather than a tool to teach you anything. The book was entertaining, but I cringed at the "everybody is a medium, you must just train yourself, but I was actually born with exceptional talents, yet I will teach you what came to me naturally and I barely had to work for." Then she goes on to talk about her own experiences with the types of messages she has delivered through her readings and what she thinks they mean. There are exercises in the last couple of chapters only. They are good, but you can find them in most other books like this too.

No matter what you believe or how you perceive life on the other side, this book is truly amazing at how so many things we all already experience or have experienced that we may not have been able to out words to. Sherrie does an amazing job in explaining our experiences (and hers) and puts things into context that many of us may have questions about or didn’t really make sense before. We definitely all have abilities as humans here in the physical world, but we truly all are interconnected and this book puts it simply, plainly, and in depth all at the same time! Highly recommended even to those who have all differing belief systems. Amazing!!

The book talks about her experiences and the afterlife. I didn't like that she talks about her clients, a genuine medium should help others, the sound of the book shows how she is selling information for who needs some piece of mind. A person with a gift need to survive but also to help as a retribution. Just by the end she teaches how to discover your powers, nothing new to be honest.

Practical ways to open yourself to the devind

I love how Sherrie can take what is sometimes difficult to interpret information and make it easy for a beginner to understand. This was a great read just like the rest of her books.

I found this book to be a bit repetitive. The stories were mostly the same. I thought I would get more out of it.

This audiobook desperately needed some humanity. It felt like it was narrated by AI. Some contractions would have made this seem more natural.

Truth mingled with falsehoods. Until we have passed over any experiences or truth we gain will only be half seen and then God will only allow us to see what will help us move forward. What we see may not be universally true but like the elephant in the room we can only see bits and pieces and thus draw erroneous conclusions.

Easy to read with lots of information and ways to explore your psychic ability. The premise is that anyone can communicate with the dead and you have to develop your listening skills.
