A solid if aging look at Luke scholarship. This isn't a book for a Sunday School class as it is fairly academic and is as interested more in who Luke was, when the Gospel was written, how Luke viewed Jesus and why Luke didn't seem to emphasize the same things as Paul, etc... rather than a more devotional approach. I suspect some topics will offend more conservative Christians and they should avoid the book. For people studying Luke with a view to understanding different views on the Gospel, this is a good primer or even an alternative to diving into the many academic books on the topic while still getting an overview of the scholastic opinions.
