OMG is it me or is it hot ine here. I love that lyzee and Ethan named their son after callan, I felt it was the right thing to do since lyzee, ethan, and Callan have a loving relationship. both lyzee and Callan told desi that they loved each other and she would never have his whole heart. I kept waiting for lyzee to knock her on her ass for slapping her and punching Callan. even after all thr abuse lyzee was protecting her even though she didn't deserve it. the twist of desi being pregnant with Callan's baby I didn't see coming so I am waiting for that little part. when Timothy passed I cried with the family as I read it and can appreciate everything lyzee as new new family leader had to do to honor their granddad. next book is borrowed and waiting.

This book focuses on Desdemona and her life before she became a ME. After getting a call telling her that her sister has gone missing just like her mother years before she is left with no choice but to return to the swamps that she grew up in. Leaving without telling her best friend Elizabeth Blackhawk or he fiancé Callen she runs across country and straight into danger.
Of course Callen has no choice but to follow her and his sister in law Elizabeth insists on going with him to keep him safe despite having a young baby at home.
This is an amazing story filled with incest and murder spanning decades.
There was one really big twist I NEVER saw coming and all I can say is WOW!!!!!

Hot and twisted

Like in book 2, I saw where the story was headed in terms of the killer but not the exact identity until we got closer to the end. There was much more focus on the relationships in this book. To those reviewers who wrote nasty things about the unconventional threesome relationship, for shame. I found it beautiful and the sex was crazy hot even without all the details written out (that might have made it hotter).

The deaths are twisted in an uncomfortable subject for many. If you don't like unconventional, have incest triggers, this isn't the book for you. If you can handle it, wow what a ride.

Amazing nonstop

I love how as a reader I am taken on this magical journey where I'm not sure if I want to run head long in or run back. The emotions sure do get taken for a ride. As with the others that came before this one, the author makes sure to keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting more. And of course the love of the Blackhawk family has me jumping right into the next book...

I want to be Elizabeth when I grow up.
Holy hot man sandwich! Sorry for the spoiler, but NEVER have I read a FBI romance that went there.
This is a first.
It was classy.
It was spectacular
and I went and climbed all over my husband. Yeah, I used him as I was thinking about Ethan and Callen.

Book had twists and turns and it was fraught with awesomeness.

I keep saying I love the books in this series and I do but this one was my favorite so far! It made me cry, laugh and everything emotion in between. The ending knocked my off my feet, didn't see any of it coming! I was shocked. I love the leap and change that all the characters took, it was a change but worked so good for them. Bring on book 5!

re-read today...an affair turns deadly toxic...and there's a killer stalking one of them. true love found vwhile hunting a killer. ugly tale but well written with fascinating characters.
