Book five in the Were Chronicles Series
If you loved The A Novel by Stephenie Meyer and Fate and Fury (The Grey Wolves Series) by Quinn Loftis and Raye Harrington then you will not be able to put down this absolute treat!
A wolf and bobcat come together and change one community, forever.
Grayson Mason is worn out and run down from the long months on the road in search of the feline Prince. All he wants is to finish his mission and go back to his Pack. That is, until he meets the one woman who will turn his world upside down.
Beth Williams is happy in Coyote Bluff. The community of shifters support one another and she has her brother and nephew. Sure, sometimes she might get lonely, but she’s never connected with anyone enough to consider mating. That is, until a new wolf hits town. With the arrival of Gray, she has to rethink her entire life.
But there is more going on than just the attraction between the wolf and the bobcat. Gray’s search is bringing him closer to finding the Prince but at the same time leading him right into the middle of a feline conspiracy and a battle.
Gray finds himself fighting not only for the Prince’s survival, but also to protect his future mate.
Crissy Smith
Crissy Smith lives in Texas with her husband, daughter, and three Labrador retrievers. The three dogs love to curl up under her computer desk and nap while she writes. It doesn't leave a lot of room for her but what's a woman to do?
When not writing or reading, she enjoys hunting, camping and shooting. But she has a girly side too and is addicted to pedicures and coffee.
I live in Texas with my husband, daughter, and three Labrador retrievers. By day you can find me at my 'day job' buried under a pile of paperwork but at night I am at my computer creating new worlds!
I have always loved the paranormal. Shape-shifters, witches, and vampires have been my number one choice of reading material so when I strated to write it was the genre I chose.
I currently have several books released through Totally Bound. I have one long running series the Were Chronicles and in March 2014 a spin-off series the Shifter Chronicles will be revealed.
I also have several stand alone novellas and novels.
I am working hard to bring more stories to the readers so they can sit back and relax while losing themselves in the paranormal romance world.
Gray has been on the road in search of the feline Prince. He tired and worn out and just wants to get back to his pack. His search takes him to a little town where the community is unique, the mystery surrounding the missing Prince gets interesting and meets a bobcat who will turn his world upside down.
Gray and Beth. Wolf and bobcat. Got to be honest here, a quote from Ghostbuster about cats and dogs living together was running through my mind the whole time. Beth is feisty and strong. Gray is sweet and my heart felt sad for his loneliness. The romance between them happens fairly quick but worked perfectly with the story.
This story had more than romance to keep it flowing. There's the town of Coyote Bluff. You can't help but love the community part of the story. Dorothy and Claude, Mark, Dawson and Julian. How they all stick together caring for each other even though they are all different kind of shifters, it's just what Gray needed. Julian is a complete charmer and adorable. Then there is the search of the feline Prince. That really took up a good part of the book and truthfully I'm happy it did. Instead of just a plain romance, the search for the feline Prince added adventure and suspense that kept the everything moving at a fast pace.
I've read quite a few books by Crissy Smith and enjoy each of them. Great characters and story lines always bring me back for more. Pack Community can be read as a standalone, however, there is the theme of the shifters coming out to humans in each book that would make more sense if the whole series was read. I recommend Ms. Smith and her books to all PNR readers.
I received this book from The JeepDiva prior to release with the express purpose of an honest review. The opinions, contents, and rating of this review are solely mine Stars - 3.5, Flames - 3
This series is really made up of short enjoyable reads. When RL is keeping you busy and you find you have no time to read, then these are perfect for you if you love PNR.
I wouldn't say these are memorable but they are enjoyable and they satisfy my desire to read something romantic, sexy and full of paranormal characters,
I didn't like this one as much as the others in the series. Actually I liked it less than any of the rest. It seemed to be more about saving the Prince than Gray and Beth, which I'm okay with, except it was supposed to be their story, and that part of the story was a little more rushed than what the other stories in the series have been.
This was actually very good for a novella. A lot of action, even the romance story took a backtrack to it. It was very cute even with the hot werewolf stuff. I wish we get the story about Casey and Zach!! An M/M werewolf story? Gimme, gimme, gimme!!!!:D
Wolves don’t usually play well with cats, but Grayson and Beth are the exception. There is a instant connection that cannot be denied, which means only one thing, they were meant to be no matter their species. Beth knows she can trust the wolf in man’s clothing, especially since he has come to help them. He seems to get along with everyone even though wolves are known for trying to become the alpha. Beth is rewarded with one of the most kind and compassionate men around vying for her attention.
The family connection in this story was evident from beginning to end and was a real driving force that kept me interested. I like that Beth and her family seem to look out for one another even if they did not know it. It is a type of kinship that many of us seek within our own families. It was clear to me that though they may not be perfect, everything they did was for one another. I also enjoyed Gray’s longing for such a family. It helped me to know that he many finally found home.
The relationship development between Beth and Grayson while continues seemed to fall a bit short for me. I would like to have seen a bit more wooing and reluctance on the part of the characters. I think a bit more build up between the wolf and cat compatibility or lack of it would have made the relationship that much more explosive in the end for me.
The antagonistic conflict within the story was a nice added feature. It had its start in a previous story, but I was still able to follow along easily as should anyone who is new to the series, or a veteran in the Were Chronicles world. This author does like to feature relationships that cover both straight, gay and anything in between, so while the main characters are m/f, they do have some gay supporting characters in case anyone is squeamish about these types of topics. It was a nice add in for me since I enjoy all types of relationships.
This is a series I have recommended in the past and will continue to do so because the author is great at producing high quality stories, just like Pack Community.
Pack Community, was another great story in the series. I really loved that this series is made up of really short stories, you can easily breeze through reading them all.
I read started to read this series so long ago and have had the opportunity to pick up from where I left off. Without giving to much away I found that Pack Community was an enjoyable, sexy PNR.
There was a lot of action and with a lovely romance, what else could you want?
Perfect size novella, recommend to everyone looking for and cute werewolf story.

This was so worth the wait!! I always love my Crissy Smith books. And this one was no different. This has such an amazing story line and a couple you really just love to love. There were new characters I cannot wait to know more about. The love and action were perfectly balance and this leave you wanting more! I cannot wait for the next book to come out. I just love how all of this series is linked so well and always leaves you wanting more!!!
Gray is helping to search for the feline prince that went missing a few months before. When he follows the trail to a small town full of shifters of all kinds he feels like he is home. As a member of a wolf pack he is used to being surrounded by wolves. In this community he is the only wolf but he feels more at peace there than when he is at home. A lot of that could have something to do with the attractive bobcat shifter he meets, Beth. From his first look at her he wants to get to know her but he’s not sure if a mating is possible cross species. While he’s dealing with all these new feelings he is also helping track down the feline prince and then setting up a sting to catch the men responsible for the kidnapping.
We met Gray in the previous book, Pack Rogue, and I liked him then. I liked him more in this book. He’s not an Alpha but he is still a strong wolf with a need to feel like he belongs. He has been watching his friends and pack mates find their mates and move on with there lives but he is afraid that it may not happen for him. When he meets Beth and starts to feel things for her that he’s never felt he wants to stay and see where this could go.
One of my favorite things about Gray is that he wasn’t an Alpha. Most of the books in the series feature the Alpha’s and I felt that Gray was a nice change of pace. He is still able to hold his own but he doesn’t want to run a pack, he just wants a family and to belong. With Beth, he finds a woman that is looking for the same thing and it doesn’t hurt that the attraction between the two is instant.
I enjoyed all the new character’s in this book. Between Beth’s family and the shifters that were protecting the feline prince there are a lot of places for the series to go. It was also nice to branch out of the wolf shifters and see some felines and hawks as well. I would be interested in seeing more from them in future books.
This is book five in the Were Chronicles series and they are best read in order. There are many reoccurring character's, continuing story arcs and some world building that isn't fully explained in each book.
I liked it, but I hated that Grey had to leave his family, friends and pack to start a new life with new people, I know he has his mate, but why aren't they closer. I like when everyone are together and are one big happy family.
The one thing I didn't enjoy about this book was that the romance seemed to take a back seat. It felt like the focus was more on the Prince and his problems than the bussing relationship between Gray and Beth.
This series is all just cheap porn, and not well written. But they were entertaining enough that I read them. I'm a sucker for werewolf lit, even when it's cliched porn.
