My name is Chase Cooper, and I'm a 6th grade ninja. It's my first day at a different school and the only person I know is my cousin, Zoe (but she might be a little too cool for me). I was just another scrawny kid until a group of ninjas recruited me into their clan. It was a world of trouble I wasn't prepared for, which is why I kept this diary (or "chronicle" as my dad would call it) - to warn other kids about the dangers of becoming a ninja. They say history is destined to repeat itself... well, not if I can help it.

Marcus Emerson is the author of several highly imaginative children's books including the popular Diary of a 6th Grade Ninja series and the Secret Agent 6th Grader series. His goal is to create children's books that are engaging, funny, and inspirational for kids of all ages - even the adults who secretly never grew up. He is a 35-year-old comic book reader, video game player, and toy collector.

Ninja! With lots of ninja actions in the school world, this book hooked me for a whole week and was a major part of my reading life.

Chase Cooper just started a new school and met his cousin Zoe. Chase wanted to be friends with a group of ninja, but Zoe wouldn't agree to follow him. So, the ninja played a mean trick on her and it was Chase's decision to make.

The pro of this book is that it's for everyone who is starting a new school. There are some tips in there to help you and tell a likely story about your experience. The con is that it is a bit hard to understand, especially the last part. However, it's description makes it not boring.

I would recommend this book to middle school students or upper elementary, especially to those who is starting a new school.

Тъй или иначе трябваше да прочета и тази детска книжка, защото се въодушевих от постоянно прииждащите от този тип в книжарницата. Двете книжки за Кърпена глава („Кърпена глава“: https://knijenpetar.wordpress.com/201... и „Окото на пирата“: https://knijenpetar.wordpress.com/201...) дадоха доста мощен начален тласък, а и вече съм си набелязал солидно количество за по-късно. В съвременните детски книги има доста хумор, което ме привлича неудържимо. Чудно ми е защо много хора повдигат вежди, че ги чета, но вероятно още опознават живота на възрастните и самите те искат да се почувстват такива. ;) В днешно време е много трудно да привлечеш едно дете към света на книгите и писателите са принудени да надграждат историите си с „потенциално опасни“ сцени, за да поддържат интереса. Вече се забелязва и негативна нагласа от децата и родителите им към „подходящите“ за определена възраст книги. Смята се, че малките читатели са надраснали определен тип литература, без да са минали през нея, и им трябва нещо по-така. При момчетата това е особено ясно изразено. Много пъти съм виждал как си избират нещо за четене и колко причини биват изброявани против тази или онази книга. Общо взето това са оплаквания от рода на „картинките са много детски“ или „много е дебела“. Маркъс Емерсън, мисля си, е решил и двата проблема – „Кланът на нинджите“ („Хермес“, 2017, с превод на Мария Демирева) има само 112 страници, а илюстрациите са по-скоро грозновати щрихи, отколкото приятни за окото образи. This book/series has taken the third grade (boys) by storm this fall. WillZ read the first three this summer and started passing them on to his friends. Now there are four boys all sharing and trading these books and they are consuming them. Reading them non-stop, asking each other when they can get the next one and so on. For the 8-9 year old boy set this series is a hit.

It was a funny story with very likeable characters that go on some wacky adventures. Even though this was about ninjas lerking around a middle school it still some how felt very real, I could really see the visuals in my head. Overall, I did enjoy the book however, I found that the majority of the book was very predictable so much in fact that I guessed the entire plot after reading just the first few chapters! But other than that I absolutely loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys this middle school diary type of a story.

Chase is the new boy - uncertain, friendless, scrawny and totally unsure about how to make friends. His cousin Zoe also goes to the school and she looks after him, introducing him to others and clueing him up on the teachers. During PE they come across what looks to be a gang of ninjas, who invite them to join the group. Only thing is, the initiation challenge involves stealing, and Zoe opts out. The ninja leader wants revenge on Zoe, and intends to use Chase to make it happen. Ninjas are cool, but Zoe is now his friend, and Chase has some important decisions to make.
I enjoyed reading this, and know lots of Y5-8 students who will want to read it too. There are 10 in the series, and I will be buying it for our students as I've seen books 1-4 in the shops now. It's not a long read, but I think it will engage my Y5s who want a step up from Diary of a wimpy kid, as well as Y8s who are not committed readers, as Chase is 12.

Imagine having a secret group of ninjas at your school! When new kid Chase and his cousin Zoe accidentally encounter them in the woods during gym class, they're surprised, to say the least. And, when they are invited to join, Chase is intrigued. He always thought ninjas were cool.

But will Zoe and Chase steal a student's purse as part of their initiation into the group? (That would obviously not be cool.) And what about the food drive money that's missing? When the ninjas try to pin the theft on Zoe, will Chase stand up for what is right?

"Diary of a Sixth Grade Ninja" is a short, fun, easy read for kids that's full of heart. I highly recommend it for the 8 to 12-year-olds in your life.

The book is about guilt and responsibility. The main character is Chase Cooper, the new kid in a school. Chase will ultimately have a tough decision to make. While Chase, his cousin and another boy are walking, the other boy gets pulled into the woods and into a hole. Chase and his cousin jump in the hole, which leads to an empty cave, so they can rescue the boy. Then, a clan of ninjas appears out of nowhere. The ninjas invite Chase and his cousin to join the clan, but Chase and his cousin first must steal his cousin’s friend’s purse before they are accepted in the clan.

The story is really funny and some parts are quite hilarious. I really liked it and it has a lot of potential to become a classic on "thriller for children" category. it's already a book series as far as I know

Josh Hurley's narration is great. Really great, actually, and really clear as well.
He complements the story and makes it even more good.

I'm sure that kids and adults alike are going to enjoy it.

If you are learning english or you want to improve your listening, this is a great great choice

Chase Cooper is glad his cousin Zoe goes to his new school, otherwise he wouldn't know anyone. Zoe is a good cousin and friend, helping Chase settle in the first few days. When they are chatting outside during PE (gym class) they both see something strange in the trees by the school field.

The next time at gym class they show a friend where they saw it and suddenly he vanishes! Just before he was yanked into the trees, Chase was sure he heard him say....Ninjas?

Are there Ninjas in the trees? Why are they there and what do they want?

This is the 1st in a series of 10. Intrigue, mystery, loyalty and making the right choices are all part of this fun series.

Diary Of A 6th Grade Ninja by Marcus Emerson is an excellent book!It is awesome to read books that are fantasy but also feel realistic.What I mean by this is that a book can feel like if it was realistic fiction until the fantasy kicks in.For example,Chase Cooper,the main character,goes to an ordinary school like every one else but is in a secret ninja group there.I wish my school had a secret ninja group I can join!This book is similar to other fantasy books because there is a group of mysterious creatures.If I had to recommend this book to someone it would be to kids who are barely starting middle school(junior high) because it can be something they can relate to in a way.

This is a very short book which is part of a series. However, it did not have such appeal that I'd be bothered to read the rest of the series. I did like the way Chase (who I hasten to add is a boy) stands up to the bully Wyatt by not fighting back - that's a real good lesson.
I must say it did open my eyes a little bit because everyone thinks ninjas are heroic, it was a surprise to learn that there are both good and BAD ninjas! (I wonder if that's the correct plural of ninja or is the plural of ninja just ninja?)

Diary of the 6th grade ninja by Marcus Emerson and its about a ninja. WYatt was a kid that doesn't like to talk but when they got of school they saw a shadow saying ninja so the shadow ran so they chased it to the woods then they didn't no were it was so the shadow ran awaya but it was inside him so wyatt was felling wierd. I liked this book because of the ninja's.I will recommend this to my brother he likes ninja's.

A bit amateurish, with some grammar issues (“The way she rose her voice”) that make it feel like a self-published book. The drawings add little to the story, having nowhere near the charm of other such “Diary” books (Wimpy Kid, Dork Diaries, etc). Some of the ideas are mildly amusing, as is the dialogue, but for a book about ninjas, it is surprisingly dull for the most part. Then again, I am not the target audience.

My middle school son and I read this together before bed. It was a light-hearted read that provided ample opportunities to discuss courage, honesty, and integrity. There was enough suspense to keep us both interested.

This book is for 9th-12th graders, I am not there yet, but I wanted to read this book :D It was awesome and silly my siblings loved this book too. They want to read the next one soon, same as me. All you can say is, ninjas. Oh, and Oreo cookies, you cannot forget about Oreo cookies. :D
