While I LOVED bk 1, The One Place, I’ll have to go with “like” here for bk 2. The One Girl is from Tuck’s POV which is something I usually love but bk 2 just didn’t have the same spark for me as The One Place. However, it did wrap up the story with a sweet HEA for one of my favorite couples. I might have left my rating at 3.5 stars except for the way the whole ending went with Drew. His role as the heavy started off the story in bk 1 and highlighted the drama at the end of it. You just knew there was a show down coming between the 3 main players (Drew, Tuck, Talie). Here in bk 2 the Drew element just sat there unexplored until the very last quarter of the bk when suddenly things just derailed. It appeared that the author wrapped up Drew’s part in the story like an afterthought with a series of events that came out of nowhere, were incredibly unbelievable and just what?!?, you’ve got to be kidding me silly. I also seriously didn’t care for Kayla, Talie’s sister. She got on my nerves HUGE, with her constant yapping, whining and complaining. Tuck/Talie should have kicked her to the curb WAY early on. So with that being said…3.0 stars is generously fair for this one.
Since I loved the first bk, The One Place, so much I’m going to give this author’s 3rd bk, Impossible, a try. Cade, the bull riding ladies man who had a brief appearance in this story is the Hero. Hoping it will be as fun a read as The One Place.

Satisfying conclusion
This picks up where the last book leaves off, Tuck and Talie are faced with a huge bombshell however after that things pretty much go back to normal.
The explanations into why Andrew doesn't do anything was believable but a little anticlimactic.
This book is really about them opening up to each other even more and getting use to their new life together. While facing a few more hurdles.
I didn't really like Kayla but glad Cole is getting his own book. (hopefully not with Kayla)
I would recommend this as an easy read with a cool badass hero, but not without reading the first book.

This book starts right where The One Place left off. But this book is in Tucker's POV(Have I already mentioned that I LOVE Tucker?!) This book not only explores more of Talie and Tucker's relationship, but also deals with people from their past that now add complications to it.
"Couldn't be happier that you ended up here with me, Babe. I just mean that that's either one hell of a coincidence or fate has one hell of a sick sense of humor."
We also get to meet Talie's sister Kayla who is really funny and provides comic relief. And more with their friends Ruthie and Jace. I have to say again that I love the people of Joplin and would be happy to live there.
But this book has drama, suspense, and action mixed in with the romance. They are all on alert trying to make sure the past does not ruin their future. I do not want to give away any spoilers, but there are twists, surprises, and intermingling connections that tie the story together. And Tucker and Talie try their best to weather the storms together. I love how strong and determined Tucker is even if he is bossy and uses curse words multiple times in every sentence. He gets to me every time he says "Babe." And Talie is a strong, capable, and loving woman. And she is sassy and funny too.
"I gotta tell you , Babe. Meant to be according to some higher power or not, it's meant to be to me. You were the girl I had been waiting for. You were The One. And you still f**kin' are."
"Listen, Babe. I'll make this simple for you so that there's no confusion. If you try to take off, I'll just chase you down. If you try to push me away, I'll pull you back. I'll do whatever the f**k I gotta do to keep you close to me for as long as I f**kin' can. Not ever lettin' you go....Not ever."
I enjoyed this series. They are easy to read and not very long, but the characters and storyline still felt interesting and complete. And epilogues always make me happy!
The author is working on a standalone book focusing on a character Coleman Cade that we met briefly in this book.

Wonderful continuation!!! Totally love Tuck and Talie and the gang!! The story was interwoven so beautifully the getting this book in Tucker's POV just made it that much more special. He is such a Man!! LOL....Loved it!! Talie's sister Kayla is a total crazy nut job...hahahaha...Never knew what was gonna come out of her mouth. She was a great addition to this amazing story!! It is definitely unreal how connected Tucker and Natalie's lives were without even knowing it in book one. The mystery was awesome and everything unfolded perfectly. And the epilogue was totally worth it!!!
Great job Ms. Curtis!! I sure do hope we get a book on Cole....almost as yummy as Tucker!! ;)

This books starts off right where The One Place ended, but the entire book is in Tuck's POV, which made for unique storytelling, because Ms. Curtis can apparently think like a man.

Laurel Ulen Curtis’s The One Girl picks up right where we left off in The One Place. This time it’s told in Tucker’s point of view and what a breath of fresh air! Kudos to Curtis for giving us a male perspective in a second book instead of having to wait for his point of view in a later book like some authors are prone to do (if they decide to so). If you haven’t read The One Place then I highly recommend doing so because you’ll be lost otherwise.
Tucker and Natalie have to deal with the fact that Andrew has found Natalie and is back in town. Tucker finally finds out how much of a monster Andrew really is. Natalie has to come to grips with her past catching up and finds out her best friend Jenny is actually Tucker’s sister. Natalie mentions to Tucker her suspicion regarding Andrew’s involvement in the accident involving Tucker’s parents. Suddenly secrets are unraveled and threaten their relationship. Will Andrew get a hold of Natalie and take her back to New York or will Natalie have the courage to break free from Andrew?
I really enjoyed reading The One Girl from Tucker’s perspective. His love for Natalie really can be seen. In terms of characterization, we don’t get in-depth characters. What you read in The One Place is pretty much the same type of characteristics you read in The One Girl. Although, we do get to see how much guilt Tucker has over Jenny’s disappearance and he’s the first to push Natalie to do the right thing regarding her family. It was nice to read how much he cared and the lengths he went to make things right. We’re also introduced to Natalie’s sister, Kayla. What a hoot she is! You’ll be smirking with her as she refers to Tucker as “hotman” and oh yeah you can just imagine his strut knowing he’s been nicknamed that.
The only one complaint I have is, I wish we could have had more of Andrew. We know he’s an abusive asshole from The One Place and we find out exactly what happens to Jenny in The One Girl, but I wanted more of him as a character. I wanted Tucker to confront him and make him pay for his crimes especially for what Andrew ends up doing to Tucker’s parents. We don’t get that and instead of a huge confrontation between Tucker and Andrew, it’s dealt with swiftly by an outsider. I won’t say who the outsider is, but it’s a nice twist I wasn’t expecting and I feel for Natalie having to go through what she did. I can’t even imagine the feelings she had when she realized she was the target for assassination by someone she cared about.
I debated with the rating and due to a few hiccups, I decided on a four instead of a five. I really liked The One Girl and even though I still have some unanswered questions, I enjoyed the book. There are some explicit sex scenes and language, but Curtis warns us in the synopsis.

These books are Adult Contemporary. As you saw previously there is language and quite a bit of sexual content.
SO glad I had this book to read right after the first one! We immediately pick back up where we left off with the cliffhanger from the first novel. I really didn't see that twist coming at ALL. So props to Laurel for rocking my world a little bit there! I won't give anything away, but the past really does have a way coming back to get you.
This book was good for me because it was from Tuck's POV. And I liked Tuck. (Though I wasn't crazy about the fact that his nickname for Natalie was Babe.) Some people might not like his possessiveness, and I don't usually go for it, but lately I'm digging it. I really do think it's sexy and hot when a man claims you as his own. And Tuck claims Talie as his time and time again. :) I feel that Tuck and Natalie balance each other out really well. He's there for her when she's feeling vulnerable and afraid and he won't let her go without a fight. Natalie's first instinct is to run away because she wants to protect everyone she cares about, but Tuck tells her that it's their turn to protect and take care of her.
I also liked the addition of Kayla, Natalie's sister. She was funny and brazen and she interacted well with our main characters.
I do wish we had a little bit more of Andrew, Natalie's ex, in this book. I would have liked to see a little more development on that situation. I feel like we didn't get enough where he was concerned, especially considering how much he altered Natalie's life.
I definitely did not see the plot twist toward the end of the book coming at all. It was definitely a 'what?!' moment. I am glad the book tied up all loose ends. I would love to see Laurel do a book on Kayla next!

I can say this book was just as good as the first one in the series if even better. A lot went down in the final chapter of last book. So you can imagine that this story is more intense then the first. With that said I can say that I loved this book, it's characters, and its message.
The story takes place immediately after the first book. Tuck and Natalie have just found out that their pasts are intertwined. Drew has found Natalie and protecting her at all costs is what's important. Natalie knows what Drew is capable of and is afraid that her mistakes will cost them their lives. Although Drew gets his closure he is no where near in healing from it. We do get introduced to Natalie's sister Kayla in the book. She ends up coming to town for her safety. Her character is so great, she is just like Natalie. Everyone instantly falls in love with her. The safest place for them all to be is together. Finding out these secrets has been devastating for both Tuck and Natalie. They are both determined to make it through together. Natalie and Tuck are so in love these dire circumstances do not effect that love at all. If anything it makes there love that much stronger. Really a magnificent thing. Fate has intervened and they have finally found the one thing in each other, that they never thought was possible, perfect happiness. So will love be enough? Or will the horrible past win in the end?
I am so glad I read this story. A very different kind of love story, but saying that these characters were real, and inspiring. They all has some very strong qualities. Matched together they are a force to be reckoned with. If you want to see if Tuck and Natalie get their happily ever after I recommend you pick this up. Of course read book one first this is not a stand alone. Both stories read together are incredible.

** spoilers from book one** As I stated in my review of book one the second I finished book one I cracked open my kindle to read book two. The ending of book one hooked me. Book one The One Place was in the heroines point of view and book two is in the heroes point of view which was a nice surprise but I almost wished it was a split point of view book. The One Girl starts were book one left off. Tucker and Natalie just found out that Andrew Jenny(Natalie's friend) and Natalie's abuser is the same as Jenny Tuckers missing sister in fact Jenny is the same person, both Tuckers sister and Natalie's friend. Now with Andrew in Town Tucker makes it his mission to first keep Natalie safe and then find out the complete truth. With the threat on Natalie's families lives Natalie and Tucker set about keeping Natalie's family safe once and for all.
The more they uncover the truth more questions build, as Tucker and Natalie fall more in love each day the resolve to find happiness no matter what, but then Natalie and Tuckers world is rocked yet again and this time they may not get their happy ending. Mrs. Curtis yet again shocked me with the twist in this book. I had a clue of what would happen but I never would have guessed what actually happens. I loved the epilogue in this book but I wish this book would have had more Tucker and Natalie time instead of so much friend and sister time. Overall this was a nice series not the best but it kept my attention. After finishing these two books I still am excited to see more from Laurel Ulen Curtis and will be checking her other books out in the near future.

Talie loves Joplin and all the new friends she has made there. She is so happy she decided to make a run for it and she is even happier that she decided to go to Joplin and stay. But the past has a way of always making an appearance and when it does HOLY HADES it makes an appearance and that is when Tucker and Talie find out that their pasts are connected and they will have to do whatever it takes to stay together.
This book is told from Tucker's POV and lord hearing things from his perspective tore at my heart. To see how he and Talie were connected and to see how the same person damaged and dam near destroyed them had me had me reaching for the tissues. Talie is ready to run again but Tucker is determined he will have his girl and let no one take that from him. He loves Talie and he knows she loves him and he will be damned if that same ignorant ass person comes back in their lives and takes away what they have built.

The One Girl fell kind of flat for me. This time around its told from Tucker's POV, and he had these long drawn out inner monologues that an emo woman would have. It was annoying as all hell. All questions were answered but to me it came off as kind of lame. I'm just saying if my boo thangs bat shit crazy sister tried to kill me, me and that cray cray bitch will not be friends, mental illness and brain injury be damned. All in all I say give it a try because book 1 ends on a cliffhanger BUT be prepared for Tucker coming off as a teenage girl in the midst of an epic break up while on her period. Seriously the excessive inner monologues were a bit much.

This book was only 135 pages. That is my "negative" comment.
This book kept me up late because I didn't start it until 9! Once I realized it was available, I was not about to NOT start the book.
Love the characters and that she brought in Kayla, the sassy sister. I need me a Tucker Cody!!! Matter of fact, think I would like to just pack up and move to Joplin, too. Can't wait for Cade's story!

This book picked up right where the first one left and I must say this one was waaaay better than the first.
I think being in Tukes POV could have been the reason. It was funny and sexy as hell and just read alot better than the first.
The main charaters were just awesome. The supporting characters were brillent and made the story what it is and if there is a third book about Cole - cant wait!!

"The One Girl" picks up right where the first book "The One Place" left off with a few new characters thrown in. This book is told by Tucker's perspective and deals with their past. Just as the first book, the characters had great chemistry and the story line just flowed nicely to the end. This series is a must read for all romantic suspense readers.

So it turns out, this author really seems to like adding a twist to her stories and this one had one I really didn't see coming but that just makes it fun! I really enjoyed this series. I would have loved Kayla to get her own (hint-hint) but in any case, it was a good book. I liked Tuck quite a lot but then I really liked Natalie too. And their friends. Hopefully someday we'll wander back into Joplin via these books again! Highly enjoyable book!

A very good story line with a continuation of a hard subject from the first book. An lot of language and explicit sex scenes but the author did warn us, just a little more than what I can take. Love Tuck, Talia, and the gang. Kayla brought in a lot of humor in the story. Can't wait for Coleman Colts story.

This is the second and final book for this contemporary romance/drama for Adult/New Adult. Loads of twists, turns and psychological mind f...slaps as well as a satisfying conclusion to a well written book.

What a twist!
The first book had me hooked and the second was just what I needed to a conclusion.
I really enjoyed reading about Tallie and Tucker, it was sweet, heartbreaking and lovely and the secondary characters really made it for me too!

2.5 stars. It still wasn't great but it was noticeably better than the first one. There was still way too much use of "babe" for me but it had more action than the first one. I'm not sure I find it all believable but I guess it's fiction.

Of course I bought it to know what happened! Again, liked the story line but it was over the top w/ the sex.
