Enjoyable story with a small touch of magic. No fairies or fae but just the magic of a stone that can bring good or bad luck to a clan.
This is a stand alone story with a few cross over character's, but you won't be lost if you start with this one. Heat level on passion about 2 out of 5 within marriage (Highland rules).
The story improved as it went alone. I became frustrated with the h many times. She kept putting herself in danger by running away over and over. Yes, I understood she was scared and felt she would be hanged - good reason I know, but it became somewhat repetitive.
The last 1/3 was fantastic with suspense, very funny moments thrown in, has violence and as I said a small touch of magic. Some editing problems but not enough to where you couldn't figure it out. The price is right so that doesn't bother me.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, some romance and a small tad of spice. (ljb)
An enchanting story. I very much liked it. A spy with magical glamor, a lawyer in the Black Watch, many adventures a chocolate factory nd 3 adorable girls.
Graced by fairy charms, “Katie Hell”, a wanted Jacobite spy, found that she, herself, was the one to be charmed by Capt. Alec Fraser ( of the familiar “Fraser of Lovat” Clan), the highland Red-Coat. Caught red-handed of stealing official document, she was arrested but was later transferred to Edinburgh to be tried. Accompanied by Capt. Fraser, to whom she fell in love with. To rescue her from the execution, he offered her to marry him. Long story short, they confessed they love to each other and later found that he was also a Jacobite spy. HEA!!
The plot was good. Characters were good but it lacked something I couldn’t identify. May be, the execution was as strong as I was hoping for. It felt too airily somehow. It needed some substance to anchor the story.

A well written book that kept my attention the entire time, the only reason it didn't earn a 5 was because it took just a little to long in my opinion for the h/h to trust each other and make it happen..
