I believe this book is a must read for anyone who wants to know anything about Syrians: their culture, their mentality, their heritage, history and most importantly, thier contribution to Arabic and world civilization..
It sheds light on the relation between contemporary Syria, the world and Ancient Syria. So many previously unknown, or unfamiliar facts are explained here. How the name Europe is actually a Syrian name for example. It will also explain the resilience of Syrians in the face of hardships and their ability to integrate into most societies they join.
I read it in Arabic. I'm not sure if it's translated into other languages. I hope it is, knowing what a difficult task it is.
I was keen to keep a copy in my library. It is an important reference book.
