Sixteen-year-old Lavida Mors is in for a long, hot summer. With no way into Anaedor, the Lost Ones seeking refuge at Portal Manor are taking over the house, creating havoc and misery. Lavida is overwhelmed trying to keep up with her chores, learning magic, and fighting off the Pixies—tiny creatures who have made it their mission to harass Lavida at every turn.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the residents of Portal Manor, the AAK is hard at work opening a Portal to the Upland. They are successful at last, and the twins, Loria and Darian, on the run from Malvado, and the AAK leader, Trey, manage to make it through the opening only to have it collapse behind them. With no way back into Anaedor, they are forced to take refuge at Portal Manor.
As they try to settle into this strange new life, tensions between the humans and the Anaedorians grow, creating rifts between Lavida and her friends. To make matters worse, Frio, Amoral Hunter Leader, is hiding out in the Upland, and when he goes after Lavida, he starts in motion a series of events that could end up costing Lavida her life.
I was born and raised in the backwoods of Minnesota. To survive, I had to develop an active imagination and invent my own friends. I think that's why I write fantasy. There's nothing better than making up your own world. It does what you tell it to do. Wait, scratch that. Sometimes my worlds take on a life of their own. While writing my Anaedor series, I actually had characters show up and demand to be included. A little scary, but it kept things interesting. I'm hoping to someday own my own castle by the sea. I truly believe in the wonders of this world and cannot think of anything better to do than write about them.
I'm happily married. I have 3 wonderful kids, 3 lazy cats, and one fish who refuses to give up the good fight (I think this is a record for fish survival).
