But on the other side of the ad is a man who seems able to peer inside her head and heart at will. When Jennifer knocks on his door, she is drawn into a sensual and sexual world she never knew existed… This book is rated XXX and is intended for MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY.
Reader Review: "To say this story is HOT would be an understatement. In Letting Go, Scott excels at turning up the heat, giving you a very short respite to recover, and then cranking it up to blazing hot. The story is filled with high tension and sizzling scenes that will leave you needing a few cold showers to cool down."
Scott Prussing is the author of the popular five book (so far) paranormal romance series The Blue Fire Saga (Breathless, Deathless, Helpless, Fearless and Heartless) as well as Blue Fire Heat, an erotic companion piece to the Blue Fire Saga, and Blue Fire Beginnings, a collection of short stories revealing the origins of popular Blue Fire characters. He has also written two mystery/suspense novels (Unturned Stones and Tangled Webs), a fantasy/adventure novel (Dreams of the Last Born) and the teen romance Mine: A Love Story, whose plot is based on the hit songs of Taylor Swift. Scott recently completed Letting Go, an XXX-rated novella.
Scott has degrees in psychology from the University of Connecticut and Yale University. After graduate school, Scott was smart enough to move to beautiful San Diego, California, where he lives just four blocks from the ocean. In addition to writing, Scott enjoys going to the movies (not renting!), hiking, riding his bike along the coast, and golf. He remains one of the few people in the United States without a cell phone.
Ya know, the really sad thing about giving this story two stars is that I really liked it. What I don't like is, an author ends the book right in the middle of the story, so you have to buy the next one to even finish the scene that the book ended on. You can't even call it a cliffhanger, because it's not, it's just a ploy to get you to plop down $3.99 for the next installment of the story. Sadly, I think this is a growing trend with authors. Would I like to read the next part, absolutely. Will I give the author my money, nope. If the next installment is as short as the first, it's not worth the cost. Nor would I, just on principal.
This was a short quick hot read. Jennifer is missing something from her bland, boring, vanilla sex life and reading 50 Shades has awakened desires in her previously unknown. She finally acts by answers an ad on Craigslist (I don't recommend this). She meets a Dom and after emailing and phone calls she goes to meet her Dom. This was a hot BDSM book with crawling on the floor, ice and wax play, orgasm withholding, bondage, spanking, and no actual penetration. I don't usually read BDSM written by men but this book was pretty good. This was book one in this series and this was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
The prologue lures you in like a fly to honey or should I say a, moth to a flame. By the second chapter you have not only shut and locked the door, you have also taken the phone off the hook. You're not going to want anything to interrupt this story.
Jennifer is like many of us. Some of her book boyfriends are probably the same ones we have. Unlike us though she doesn't leave it at that. She goes looking for "him". Hence the Craiglist reference. Oh to be young again and know Baskin Robbins is right there are at least 31 flavors besides vanilla!
S. T. Prussing weaves a wonderful adventure for our Jennifer. So well in fact that by the end of the story Jennifer has become ( insert your name here). You will feel her curiosity, trepidation and excitement of what she is looking for and the unknown she finds. You are so going to love this book.
Indulging my imagination and waiting anything but simply for Book Two *wink*
This book is really hot!Even without a clear image of what Sir look like, with only his voice he is able to give you wicked thoughts..Jennifer is really courageous, she met him online, never saw him, but she still goes to his house. The reward is surely worth it.. Now I'm left hanging and just when it was getting really interesting...I need the second book asap!
Rated it low because I hate these super short books that leave you at what should be the end of a chapter not the end of the book. Now you have to spend another 3.99 to read more of the story and in this case there are 4 parts. So, I won't read the rest of them.
A very interesting beginning to a new series. Quite simple but very steamy and sexy story of BDSM exploring. End in one huge cliffy so be prepared to rush into the next installment.
Very BDSM and I liked it. But apparently the author is so embarrassed that he wrote erotica he's made it almost impossible to find the other books in the series. To add insult to his readers, each book is a quickie read and this serial has 6 books in it. Other than this one being free, all the others are 2.99 each. Really they should all be in one or two books. This author is very proud of his YA PNR series but not so much when he writes Real Sex Scenes. It's a shame, because I thought this was hot. Was it perfect, no. But if it had been in one book or two at most, I would have given it 4.5 stars
Now, you won't be able to find this issue on Amazon and you would have a Very Hard time finding him on Amazon. But, these books are on Amazon and so is he. If your interested in checking them out here's a few links for you;

As I awoke this morning, this book review was writing itself in my head and I am now constrained to write it. This book was recommend to me by an acquaintance who said it was better written than and is hotter than Fifty Shades. The author, a man, is also a friend of hers.
While I hated Grey, I have read the three Fifty Shades books four times each and was really looking forward to a better written and hotter read than they. This book is not it.
How do I know? Almost right off the bat I discovered a sentence that read, “It’s just me and her.” There are days when I despair that, according to all available evidence, I am the last person in the world who remembers that verbs of being are intransitive and take the predicative nominative on either side. Hence, this sentence should read “It’s just she and I.”
Later on, it’s clear that the author can’t keep names straight. On page one, Amanda’s boyfriend’s name is Billy, then Brandon, then back to Billy.
Lack of attention to details bother me. In her first outing, Master gives Jennifer some very specific instructions: no purse but in her coat pocket she is to carry her credit car, cell phone, and driver’s license. But not her keys. How is she supposed to get back into her apartment? If Prussing is going to the trouble to list what she can carry, please be responsible enough to let her get back into her home.
I have to wonder if this book was professionally edited. Or, as is the case with so many independently published novels, did the author rely solely on the spell check? Aside from the detail of the boyfriend’s name, in their telephone conversation, Master says he has light brown hair and blue eyes but when Jennifer sees his hair, it’s black. So it it’s very clear to me, the writing is actually worse in Letting Go than it is in Fifty Shades because while E. L. James also got her predicative nominatives incorrect, at least she was consistent with characters names and basic details.
And if an author is going to claim that his writing is better than E. L. James’, his writing has to be more than merely grammatically correct. His writing would have to engage me more into the story and Prussing failed to do that. The first sexual encounter is written so clinically that I have no sense of Jennifer’s emotion. I was more invested in the ad on Craig’s List and their email and telephone calls than I was when they were finally together. There is too much telling and not enough showing. I didn’t feel anything except humiliation. Crawling on the floor naked? That is supposed to be sexually exciting? How?
Comparisons with Fifty Shades are inevitable. One of the criticisms I constantly read is that Christian does not instruct Anastasia about the BDSM experience before he initiates her into it. And yet I remember a lengthy contract they negotiate with a great many details spelled out, with many health concerns and responsibilities for both of them spelled out.
Where is this discussion about health concerns and responsibilities in Letting Go? Because the first time Master sticks it in, he doesn’t use a condom and there has been no conversation about safety, health, or prevention of pregnancy. In 2015 that is just plain irresponsible and Fifty Shades was so much better at that detail.
Throughout Letting Go the author continually refers to the Fifty Shades books so much so that I have to ask if Prussing ever actually read them because I don’t think he did. As do so many people who never read them, he seems to think those books are heavily into BDSM, which they are not. it makes a couple of appearances in the first book and never enters the last two. The Fifty Shades books are not about a Dom/sub relationship despite the mistaken belief of so many. Even Christian admits in the second volume that Ana is no sub and if people ever had actually read the books for themselves, they would know that.
I have to question how much Prussing actually knows about BDSM himself. I’ve read other BDSM, not many, but some, but what is a constant theme in them is the pleasure of the woman, not her humiliation. It’s clear to me, despite what Prussing seems to think, that the person who is really in charge in a BDSM relationship is the sub, because it is really all about her, not him.
Prussing seems to be more concerned with humiliating Jennifer than with her pleasure. I previously mentioned the crawling naked while blindfolded. Master penetrates her without benefit of condom or any discussion of prevention of pregnancy. On another occasion they visit the sex shop. He wants her to try on fetish gear and makes her do it in the middle of the store when she would prefer to do so in the changing room.
Throughout the book, Prussing consistently says what happens. He never makes me feel why Jennifer goes along with it. He hints that she has been sexually dissatisfied in the past. I never feel what she feels. As a result, when I wasn’t bored, I left this book feeling dirty, besmirched. I didn’t feel sexually liberated. I felt abused.
You people should just read this book yourselves and write your own review on this novel yourself and I really enjoyed reading this book very much so. Shelley MA
Well I have to admit I was a bit leery when I started reading this book. I had read Scott Prussing’s Blue Fire Saga and loved it, but his writing style was firmly in the upper YA genre. So how would this man jump from that to a genre such as Erotica and not seem out of place? Well shame on me for ever doubting him; Scott you have yet again exceeded my expectations and firmly stamped the name S.T. Prussing in the world of erotic romance. Letting Go, the first book in the Letting Go series, had me immediately drawn in by the realism he created with the main character Jennifer. I think just about any woman could put herself in Jennifer’s shoes and many have probably secretly fantasized about doing something similar. While most people would give a little more caution in this situation, the danger and mystery are described as part of the allure for Jennifer and again, this is fiction so really, who cares what a normal person would do, right? In this first installment in the series we never get to see this mystery Dom, nor do we learn his name so we are in the dark as much as Jennifer is. I can’t wait to read the next book Falling, to see just how far Jennifer is willing to go to experience everything her “Sir” has planned for them. Prussing has a way style of writing that draws the average reader into the story no matter the genre. His use of humor in the character interactions as well as the very descriptive way he writes about the surroundings give the reader a tangible place to step into and really become a part of the story.
This is a wonderful introduction to this authors work.

Right?
In this first installment in the series we never get to see this mystery Dom, (which she found on Craig's list) nor do we learn his name so we are in the dark as much as Jennifer is. I can't wait to read the next book Falling, to see just how far Jennifer is willing to go to experience everything her "Sir" has planned for them.
Jennifer has let her curiosity get the BEST of her! Sir manages to get into her head and know almost her every thought which is highly erotic.
Just some advice, don't read this and plan on going to sleep afterwards. Only go to bed if you have someone to join you. lol
This book is not for the faint of heart. It is very much R RATED! You have to have a very open mind especially when it come to the BDSM scenes. If that does not interest you do not read it but I will say this it makes me want to read the others. I would not call this a cliffhanger (even though it kind of is to a point) but you are left with wanting more and will want to get the other three books to find out what happens.
Interesting, albeit-scares-the-ever-livin-shite-out-of-me, concept in this story. Jennifer, your seemingly everyday run of the mill type of gal gets interested in BDSM after reading FSOG. Ok? Not so weird or scary right?...She responds to an ad on Craigslist! Yep! Craigslist!
Ok...once you get past that. It's actually a pretty sexy little story. Would this work out in real life? Who the hell really cares? It's a fun story and written in a way that has you short of breath wondering what he's going to ask her to do next and will she actually submit to it or finally say F*** It! Jennifer has a pretty funny dialogue running through her head at times which makes her very likable.
Master...hmmm.....I haven't figured him out yet. He's definitely Mr. sexy hot pants but there's something, I just don't know what. Maybe I'll find out in the next book.
And so you know.....theres a cliffy!!
The visual imagery the author writes is great. As i stated before there were many times I FELT as if I were kneeling on the floor with her blindfolded not knowing what was going to happen next, heart beating a little faster than it should & suddenly able to hear the tiniest creak in the floorboards. The author pulls off that feeling of the hyperawareness quite well.
I'm very interested to know if Master is brown hair and green eyes as he told Jennifer on the phone OR blue eyed as she's seen when the blindfold was off...
I'll shall read on.... Oh and hell yea I went on Craigslist just to see what was out there and oh my.....the things you can find on C.L!
Granted this is just fantasty and not an instructional manual, but I cannot refrain from saying that it is irresponsible to positively depict a single woman responding to an anonymous Craig's List personal ad posted by a prospective Dom, going to the unknown man's residence instead of meeting in a public place (without letting anyone know where and when), and submitting to a blindfold and intimate acts in the first meeting.
That aside, Letting Go is a well written, steamy read, serial episode 1 in the Letting Go series, about a Dominant alpha male type initiating a novice female into the BDSM lifestyle. Unfortunatelty this theme has been overused, and readers are tired of being abused by the requirement to purchase a succession of serial episodes to have a complete story.
Not that the author is strictly in it for the money. Surely that is not why Prussing openly plugs his other books and series in the text of the story (!) when describing Jennifer's reading tastes. Nor could that be the reason for the sudden ending that invites readers to line up like sheep for subsequent episodes.
Still, the writing is much better than that of many of the Fifty Shades knock offs. I have to admit that I probably will read the sequels, but I will wait until they go down in price or are offered for free (still buying Rebecca's Lost Journals)!
I could not help but wonder as to how many people have actually done, are doing, or will do what our main character, Jennifer, in fact, does. It is scary and exciting at the same time as well as foolish and dangerous, just saying. It brought the craigslist killer to mind right off the bat.
What a HOT, sexually graphic, twisted, psychologically driven read, with a crisp and clear writing style that is easy to follow, and fast-paced. The opening scene grabbed my attention right off the bat.
The male character came across to me as one who is confident about his sexuality as he plays with Jennifer's mind, controlling her every move, yet he wishes to remain anonymous. A Puppet Master!
Jennifer has a great inner dialogue as she tries to process what is happening as she moves forward with the game plan, I liked her daring, adventurous, and driven attributes.
While I enjoyed the story, it was left at an edgy ending demanding the next installment to find out what will happen. TEASE! And for that I give it a four heart rating.
This was a short read that caught my eye because the heroine met the hero on Craigslist. Who can resist finding out more? Jennifer is bored with her sex life and has never been truly satisfied because she always felt she was missing something - a little kink. After sending some rather cryptic messages back and forth to a complete stranger via email, Jennifer decides to meet with him. One thing that creeped me out was the fact that she was wiling to meet with a complete stranger without telling anyone and he kept her blindfolded the whole time. I guess that was what excited her, but her behavior seemed a little naive and dangerous. Their encounter was hot but then the book ended. There is a sequel, but I wish it would have been combined with this story. It kind of felt like just the first three chapters of a book. I give this book three stars for their first encounter and the hero's secretive yet sensual demeanor and Jen's best friend who was hilarious.
I am sad to say that the only reason that I am giving this book 3 stars is because that I hate when an author writes a short story (stops it in the middle of the story) and then wants you to pay for the next 1/4 of the book so on and some forth. I wish that authors would realize that this ploy does not always give them the number of stars or ratings that they deserve in a book or series. This is my opinion only.
Now on to the book! I absolutely loved the story, the characters, and the plot. I thought this book was an amazing read and S.T. Prussing is a brilliant artist. I honestly checked Craigslist to see if these things exist after reading this book and I would love to read the rest and find out more about this relationship if only I didn't have to continue to spend $2.99 per very short short novella.
I don't even know where to start with the issues I had with this story. Some of the little details you got wrong. Sir describes himself to Jennifer on the phone as having green eyes, but when he reveals himself they are blue. I feel like after Jennifer was collared she should've called him Master. She had no sense of self preservation, and for the most part no sense. I am too believe she went to a dominants home, to fulfill a fantasy, and has done no homework on the matter to know the true meaning of orgasm control or the like? She was spanked 17 times for her first defense?
I'm sorry I was very disappointed in this. I've read better fanfiction on the matter from people who've actually lived it than this story was. In fact if you'd like I'll send you the links, maybe you can pick up a few tips.
I can't believe a male wrote this book!! nothing personal, but I dont read many books written by men especially erotic ones. well done Mr.pressing (( ; I honestly had my reservations about this book for the simple reason I didn't like the front cover! it looked a bit cheap to me. but after reading the first chapter, I was hooked, totally hooked. my only negative (besides the front cover) was the flaw in the storyline of what he told her he looked like in the beginning it wasn't what he looked like when she sees him and our female character never mentions that. it seems really significant to ME. other than that I lovvedd "Sir" in fact I want one of my own!! ,and I totally loved Jennifer, her character is fun and smart. I may have to read more books from this author, especially the sequel to this one.
This novel was definitely HOT! Prussing writes a main character that is real, honest, and believable…so much so that you find yourself wondering what you’d do in Jennifer’s position. Could you answer an online D/s ad? Either way, you’ll be thrilled that she does, because the story does not disappoint.
The entire novel is erotic and sexy, but does not sacrifice good writing or storyline for excess smut. All the scenes in the book flow well with the plot and Prussing gives plenty of insight into Jennifer’s thoughts and feelings, which heightens the story.
Those new to this type of play and those experienced will enjoy every delicious page of Letting Go and will be eager to get a copy of the next book!
Free...Free and did I mention this book was Free? I have never read any books by S. T. Prussing before but this glimpse into Sir and Jennifer's adventure will surly lead me to reading the rest in this series. I enjoyed this short and quick read because its very believable (Did you know they actually do have a "casual encounters" listing on Craigslist...I looked it up and it was very interesting lol.) and it was very well written. The flow was great and read it within one day. I would highly recommend this book and would like to thank S. T. Prussing for offering his hard work for free and I look forward to reading much more from him.
I absolutely LOVED the whole Letting Go series! I actually FELT like I was Jennifer in them! Falling is the 2nd one then Falling Deeper is the 3rd. They are short stories that really take you in from the very beginning! Jennifer could be you..after reading Fifty Shades! She's very curious and answers an add which turns out to be a lesson she'll never forget! Opening up her mind and body in ways she didn't know could!!!! I highly recommend this series if you loved Fifty! Scott is an AMAZING writer who really "gets" women as you will see as you read them!!!!
This short story is a very basic intro to D/s.and/or bdsm. I would be hesitant to title this a series, as this is actually a book that will be split in to sections, which is partly why I have given it three stars. Another reason for the three stars is because of the weaker female role. I have a very hard time with a female being new the submissive idea responding to an ad and going to an unknown males house for some scene time. This is my opinion, just a safety thing. I may have been a little more comfortable had she given her friend the heads up...
Letting Go, Landing Hard, Opening Up are three novels by S T Prussing, a series about a young woman exploring her submissive nature, with the aid of an experienced Dom. It is an excellent series, thoughtful and intelligent, and very sexy. The only slight complaint I have, is that the Dom is near-omniscient, always knowing what Jennifer is thinking or feeling. It is fun to read, but unrealistic...the character is too near-perfect. On the other hand, it gives me hope, to encounter a successful (well written) erotic romance book by a male author! Highly recommended by me!
I picked this book at random while going through all of my to read shelf on my kindle. Very delightful book dealing with a submissive's introduction to BDSM. It seems to me to be an impossible fantasy because of the time scale and the lack of remorse or recalcitrant behavior for a person new to BDSM. The Dom is shown to be extremely knowledgeable and skillful. However, it does deliver a reasonable, if shortened in time, sequence that is sexually both hot and satisfying.
OMG!! I loved it. I was so able to connect with Jennifer! So much of what goes through her mind has been going through mine.I just haven't acted on my thoughts and desires. At first I was concerned that a man couldn't possible understand the mind of a woman. Oh how wrong I was!! It was hot hot hot!! I can not wait for the sequel!!
This free book got me hooked. I love Jennifer's quote "Books are my true lovers - I've taken far more of them to bed than I have men. And I've been disappointed less often."
When Jennifer answers an ad on CraigsList will she continue on a learning experience with "Sir".
I was hooked and read all 4 of the books in one day!
