I'm a confessed readaholic and romantic junkie. I spend time juggling a busy career as an IT professional and author. In between staring at a computer screen I, enjoy living the Gold Coast life with my very tolerant husband and two school aged children. (I'm often in trouble for spending way too much time at my computer!).

I love nothing more than spending time with family and friends, hitting the beach, cooking, working out and curling up with a good book. My pet hates are cleaning and anything else that can be considered "domestic dullness". If I could have one wish it would be to be able to fit 48 hours into 24.

I tend to write what I like to read books that have the following characteristics:

" Strong characters with lots of development
" Hot romance
" Deep storylines
" Interesting settings
" Real life problems and sensible solutions
" Happily Ever Afters (massive sucker for a good HEA)

Above all, I like to be immersed in the story. Therefore, I want my books to give you the same feeling when you read them. I want you to experience the rollercoaster emotions but end up feeling better and entertained for reading the book. I want you be happy!

I love connecting with my readers. Please sign up to my newsletter and follow me on social media.

Happy Reading

I really wish that GRs would allow us to have half stars. This is firmly a 4.5 stars for me. My only problem being that in some instances I felt that I was given a little too much setting descriptions.I highly recommend it to my GRs friends who like M/F romances.

We've got action, terrorism, genetic modifications, intrigue, sort of military special ops,a hot rocker boy and erotic romance all rolled into one very well written novel. I liked that Ms. Gayle used a very real equine virus as the center of this story, it helped make it all the more real. Her characters are very likable and believeable. I just loved Braydon and those concert scenes were fabulous. Though I admit I wanted to smack some sense into Rihanna a few times I really did like her too. And Jazz, OMG what a wonderful best friend!

I can't wait for Book two "Finding Judgement"!

I would like to acknowledge that I recieved this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Finding trust is hard to describe. It is really different from anything else I've read. It is a combination of contemporary romance, sci-fi, romantic suspense, with paranormal elements. The story had action and surprise twists with an underlying emotional (and HOT!) romantic storyline.

"He had given her the power to destroy him. It was big; no, it was huge. “Now I need you to trust yourself enough to reach out to me and take it all. Share it with me. And in return I want you, all of you..."

If you want the real reason behind the rating, skip to paragraph 4.

So this book has an excellent premise, a really cool idea, and an almost exceptional cast of characters. But something went wrong? Well, several things went wrong. One of the biggest set-backs for this book is the dialogue. Sooooooo much dialogue. Inane, immature, repetitive dialogue. And jokes that aren't funny. And then repeating the jokes that aren't funny over and over again. And everyone talks about their feelings with everyone else. And then everyone talks to everyone else about what they talked to everyone else about and I just...!!!...I guarantee 40% of the book could have been scrapped for being completely and utterly unnecessary to the plot.

One of the other biggest set-backs was Rihanna. I am amazed at the apparent inability for this woman to make just one single flippin' decision on her own! She asks for advice from anyone who'll give it to her but then she won't listen to anyone's advice when they DO give it, she just whines some more and gets pissy and super bitchy when someone tells her something she even remotely doesn't like. My god she was a pill! And as smart as she is (I can't deny her some well-earned points there) she is as dull as a rock. At one point she was whining about whether Brayden would eventually find her boring and I couldn't help but wonder the same thing because the girl.IS.BORING. Also, just for the record, the plot ends at 85%, the rest is literally (literally!) Rihanna hashing out her uncertainty about being in a relationship with someone like Brayden.

And finally there's the real reason this book is only getting 1 star from me: The antagonists/villains were repeatedly and exclusively referred to as "the Chinese" or "the East Europeans" to the point that I was uncomfortable enough to wonder, 'is this racist?' and in past experience, if it gets to that point...well, if it gets to that point, my question is pretty much answered, isn't it?

I did a search.
Nearly every time 'The Chinese' or 'East European' appeared it was to refer to the villains.
"The East Europeans appeared to be working for the Chinese now..."
"Bloody East Europeans had a passion for viruses..."
"...was working for the Chinese..."
"...some ties to the East Europeans..."
"...then organised for the East Europeans to [do something spoilery]..."
"...the real culprits: [a spoilery person] and the Chinese."
"So why did the Chinese kill him?"

Look, just a word of advice: DO NOT EVER refer to villains by a blanket ethnicity. That is SOOOOO not okay and really the more I think about this the angrier I'm getting. I don't know if this was any sort of deliberate statement or just plain laziness on the author's part but, frankly, either is unacceptable and I will not be continuing with this series nor will I ever pick up one of this author's books again. And in fact I checked and found another book by this author from a different series on my Kindle and I just deleted it from my account and my Goodreads shelves. The way I see it, it's either racist or terrible writing, and I condone neither.

Wow! What a cool concept. I can honestly say that I’ve never read a book like this one before. Not only was it completely and utterly unique but it was also totally captivating and unendingly entertaining. Gayle takes a phenomenal concept and runs with it, creating a world and lives that you want to immerse yourself into, regardless of the danger.

Fundamentally, this story is very well written. It has a brilliant flow, and has been very well edited. As a reader you can lose yourself in the pages for hours on end. I never once put the book down. It was brilliant. Gayle’s descriptions and narrative are beyond compare. Everything is set out in vivid clarity, allowing you to walk into the pages of the book. She also switches perspective between the two main characters to give her readers a better sense of the entire story, rather than having it become one sided. This is very tactfully and clearly done, avoiding any possible confusion.

I really appreciate that the equine information and characteristics in this novel are correct. It is such a large basis for the story that you can’t help but be drawn to it. The biochemical aspect of this novel also adds another level to the story. Not only does it compliment the storyline but the fact that a situation such as this is a real possibility in the world makes you cringe.

I like that the characters are (mostly) real with each other. They don’t feel the need to be all ‘made up’ all the time, but rather feel able to act and dress as themselves with each other. Sure, they have secrets. I mean, who doesn’t. But essentially they are true to each other right from the get-go, building a brilliant foundation for a full relationship. This goes not only for the main characters, but for the cast as a whole. They are open and friendly with one another and act the way that true friends would.

Not only are the relationships between the characters well developed and realistic, but the characters themselves are as well. Each and every character that plays an important role in this novel is individually developed. Everyone has their own set of characteristics and their own personality. It becomes very easy to relate to some of them. Others, not so much, but that doesn’t stem from lack of character development. Rather, it stems from the fact that the characters are so diverse that even if you can see where they are coming from you won’t necessarily agree with everyone.

Above all, this novel was intense. It has an intensity that is rarely found in a novel. This intensity comes from the storyline as whole, not just select scenes here and there. It was brilliant. I cannot wait to read more from this author (and I think I see another couple or two brewing in this novel, so here’s hoping).

Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.

description

The land down under is hot and it's not all about the sun...

Brayden James is everything a woman could dream of – strong, rock star handsome, protective and loving. Did I mention he was rich and smoking hot? Rihanna Mason immediately took notice as he switched from heartthrob to rescuer in the blink of an eye. Rihanna was a veterinarian, working with her father in a successful practice while also doing research for the government on the deadly equine Hendra virus. Little did she know her peaceful life just made a complete 180 degrees turn and Brayden was going to be her lifeline through it all.

This full-length novel is the first installment of the Centre Games series and introduces a new team in the fight against biological weapons. Steamy hot romance mixes with the paranormal in a story that grabs you and takes you on a whirlwind ride. Building the series foundation, Brayden and his team are introduced throughout the story and we learn a lot about him and the men and women that are his chosen family. They are there to support the investigation as well as the romance that is trying to grow amidst mistrust, chaos and confusion. Rihanna is equally supported by her father and best friend Jazz who adds her unique blend of sarcastic wit and common sense to the mix. The characters are all unique but blend perfectly together in a well-written story that kept me hooked from beginning to end. I can’t wait for the next book in the series to return to the land down under and spend more time with the “Centre” family.

Really enjoyed this book. Brayden and Rihanna have instant chemistry and even though they have a number of issues to overcome they will be stronger together. I enjoyed the banter between Brayden and his "brothers" and Jazz and Rihanna have a very strong friendship. There is a lot more than simple romance in this book. Romance, suspense and even a touch of genetic mutation. I look forward to reading more of this series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book as a part of a book tour in exchange for a fair and honest review. I rated it 3 out of 5 Stars.

Finding Trust by Natalie Gayle is a somewhat difficult book for me to describe; it's part contemporary romance, part romantic suspense, and part science fiction ...or paranormal romance, like I said it's hard to classify. With a unique and interesting premise, Ms. Gayle sets her story in contemporary Australia, particularly the Gold Coast, her own home, to be precise. Finding Trust, the first book in her Centre Games series, is definitely a page turner.

Fifteen years ago, twelve young adults discovered they shared unique talents and enhanced senses. They also discovered they were part of a scientific experiment; "created" and born via in-vitro fertilization. Now adults, they are drafted into working for the "Centre", the group behind their "genetic situation". Secretly working together, their goal is to keep Australia, and the rest of the world, safe from danger.

When the "centre" discovers terrorist plans to use the "Hendra" virus against humans, Braydon James, a member of the team, is assigned to keep watch over Dr. Rhianna Mason, a veterinarian conducting research on the virus. A part time member of the band "Steel", Braydon plans to introduce himself to her at a New Year's Eve concert she'll be attending with friends. No one knew just how much this one assignment would end up changing both Braydon's future and the future of the team.

Smart, successful and used to being in control, Rhianna Mason plans on having fun with friends on New Year's Eve. Fun that could include spending some time with the sexy guitarist playing with "Steel", her best friend's favorite rock band. It doesn't include an attempted kidnapping and a cut on her foot. Discovering terrorists are after both her and her father Peter, another well known veterinarian, because of their research on the "Hendra" virus is just the tip of the iceberg.

The scenes between Braydon and Rhianna are full of starts and stops. Determined to not be "one night stand" material, they want to get to know each other better and agree to wait to become intimate. Unfortunately, their intention to get to know each other better, didn't last even 24 hours. Ms. Gayle also gave them a lot of emotional problems; Braydon can't tell Rhianna, who he nicknames "Minky", anything about his "genetic" makeup or about the "Centre". Meanwhile Rhianna suffers from self-esteem issues and wonders how someone as hot as "Braydon" could possibly be attracted to her. Unfortunately only one of these issues is ever really resolved.

The secondary characters are made up of members of Braydon's team, Rhianna's best friend Jazz, and Rhianna's father, Peter. While we do get some information on the villains in the story, and eventually discover one of them was someone they all knew, we don't get any of their viewpoint. We only get things from Braydon and Rhianna's point of view.

Will Rhianna still want Braydon when she discovers his secret? Will Braydon and the rest of the group from the "Centre" be able to keep Rhianna and her father safe while stopping the terrorists? You'll have to read Finding Trust to find out.

I was pleasantly surprised when I read this story. I wasn't sure of what to expect since I hadn't read any of the synopsis and I wasn't familiar with the author.

I found the story to be well written and definitely not the your typical romance. There was suspense and action...yeah the gun waving kind and the hot steamy kind...as well as romance. But there's also an interesting twist that you probably wouldn't expect.

You fall in love with the hero, Brayden, right away. I mean what's not to love about a hot guitarist in a band. His character is strong and dominate and his friends call him "Stud". Its worth the read just to find out why. The heroine, Rhianna, is also a loveable but strong willed character. She's been through some emotional stuff and deserves her HEA.

I did struggle a bit at first with the writing only because it wasn't written in the first person. But after a few chapters in the story flowed really well so you don't even much notice after a bit. I don't know why but I also had a hard time keeping the names straight. I guess because some of the characters had names that could be either female or male so it threw me off a bit. But again this is something I got used to further in the story. And once you learn more about a character there's no way you'd want their name any different.

This is a very long book and with any other book this length I might have skipped through or just stopped reading. Not with this one though. I found that it kept you interested until the very end.

All in all I really enjoyed this series. I have also read book 2 and will be reviewing it as well.

Definitely worth the read if you're looking for something a bit different.

Finding Trust is book one in the Centre Game series. This series has a unique premise where the operatives in a top secret organization were genetically altered so they have DNA from the animals of the Chinese zodiac signs. I was curious about Centre Games right away because I love a unique plot twist. The paranormal aspect of the story seems to play a minor role, making this book more of a suspense romance. Since I like both genres, this didn’t bother me.

From page one the story promises a lot of action and hot chemistry between the main characters. While the sex was definitely steamy, I had trouble really falling in love with Brayden and Rihanna as a couple. It felt like Brayden tried too hard, and Rihanna had too many hang-ups. There were some points, especially near the beginning, where I struggled to stay focused. There is a lot of inner-monologuing, which I think contributed to my lack of focus at points. I tend to prefer more dialogue and action to keep me grounded when a story is told from third person point of view.

This is one of those books where I enjoyed the supporting characters more than the main characters. The scenes involving the rest of the team and Rihanna’s friend Jazz really held my interest. I gave this book 3.5 stars. The series definitely shows a lot of promise and I am looking forward to reading the stories involving the other team members, especially Jazz and Quade.

3.5 out of 5 Stars; This is a romantic suspense novel surrounding a fictional virus.
The first part of this book focuses on the two main characters, Brayden and Rihanna and their romance that develops between them. Things between them heat up pretty quickly.

Did I feel connected to the characters? Yes. I really liked Brayden. He never had that “smirky” attitude that I hate in these romantic suspense novels. Like he is better than others. I liked Rihanna too. She was not whinny like I would expect a heroine to be in a situation like hers. I could see how someone as great of a man like Bray could fall for Rihanna.

Pace of the story: Okay.

Positives: Brayden was pretty honest about why he had to protect Rihanna pretty quickly. I thought that part of the story was going to drag, but it did not. I understood why he had the hide who he really was from her because of his experience of being rejected.

Negatives: It took me awhile to get used to the writing.

Do I recommend? It has a nice mix of romance and suspense.

Book Format Read: A copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this first book from Natalie Gayle. I thought the plot of this book was excellent. I really enjoyed the paranormal extras without being thrown into a book that was completely unbelievable. The author was able to take things that are happening today and integrate it into a that little extra something. Rihanna and Brayden were a great couple but I found myself really wanting more of Jazz, Quade and Rory! This to me is a sign that you have created a great world if I love the secondary characters as much as the H/h. There were a couple of things that I wished she would have explored more, but I can honestly say that I still found it hard to put down. I am looking forward to the second book.

This was an interesting premise -- people whose DNA has been crossed with animals to bring out certain characteristics -- and the idea of using an equine virus as a biological weapon was interesting as well. The chemistry between the MCs was good. I just felt like it was so long, like maybe parts could have been left out or summarized. I got bored in spots and honestly wondered if I'd finish it a few times. Part of that might have been a result of the copy editing as well, which could use some work. It wasn't nearly as bad as some books I've read, but there were enough editing issues to pull me out of the story enough to make it a less satisfying reading experience. So it was just an okay read for me.

I was given this book from Book Empire Productions for an honest review.
This was a good read, a bit on the long side, but well worth the time. It was a mixture of romance, suspense and some paranormal.

The story was about Bray and Rhinanna. Bray a very territorial male was assigned to protect Rhianna and he did a fantastic job. Brianna was a very strong intelligent woman and I loved the mix of the two together. Their romance mixed in well with the suspense part of the book. It was written very well and kept me interested throughout. The secondary characters played a big part of the story and I look forward to reading more about their adventures.

A very enjoyable read and I highly recommend it.

This was a new genre and author for me. Surprisingly I liked the suspense and science parts. The build up took a while longer and I really wanted answers. I actually wanted to know what the virus does as I'm not aware of the outbreak and into the equine scene. But that's maybe too much too take in. I enjoyed the other characters more than the main characters for some reason. I like their personality and rapport more. I found it dragged a bit on some parts, I didn't appreciate Rihanna getting repetitive and in her head at the end but understandable. I'm actually pretty curious about book two and how that'll play out. Sometimes new kinds of books are interesting and outside you norm but good.

Aaaaamazing!

When I first started this book I wasn't sure I was going to like it. But then I fell in love with Rihanna and Brayden. There love story is one for the log books. I can't wait to see what comes next for this duo. I can't wait to see what happens with each member of the team either. I know that there is something special going on with Quade and Jazz and can't wait to see where the two of them end up either.

this book took me sometime to get into, but I'm glad I stuck with it, cause this book has it all love, sex, suspense, action, it's almost paranormal sci-fi, but it was good.
Brayden is sexy hot but you want to love him and hate him typical male right? lol. but the chemistry he and Rihanna have is hot, of course it took them seeing it to act on it but omg hot. I loved the characters and I'm looking forward to next one.

Finding lots of cross-genre action in Finding Trust!

Bordering on the Urban Fantasy Romantic genre, mixed with suspense and action, Finding Trust is yet another book written by the very talented Natalie Gayle, that I loved reading. The plot centres around a group of high-ranking terrorists that involves a cross-continental syndicate, wanting to use bio-terrorism as a means of creating chaos. Their biological weapon of choice – the very real Hendra Virus. In reality, a vaccine was introduced only four or five years ago.

Set in the equine world in Queensland, Australia, Rihanna Mason is a vet, and along with her father, is specialising in the research of this fatal and predominantly equine-based virus that has crossed species and killed two vets (four have died to date, I asked Uncle Google!). Unfortunately for them, the Syndicate is semi-successful in attempts to kidnap the vets for their virology work.

Brayden James is part of a select group of exceptional talents who work for a clandestine Government agency, and he’s been tasked with protecting Rhianna. What he wasn’t expecting was the instant connection between them. He’s gorgeous, alpha and occasionally moonlights as a guitarist and vocalist for his friends’ band, Steel, and it is in this capacity that Rhianna first sees him and experiences the most intense attraction that she has ever felt for a man.

He and the rest of his team are all perfectly trained and super athletic people, and along with Jazz, Rhianna’s best friend, round out the story as a great group of secondary characters. Brayden and his team, however, share an extreme secret, one that Brayden wants to share with the woman that he has now fallen in love with, but it could endanger and possibly expose all of them. At the same time as protecting the vets, they also need to expose the bio-terrorist syndicate, and use the vets knowledge of the virus to prevent a potential outbreak, or method of containment.

Finding Trust is the first in The Centre Games series, and is a hot and sexy action romance with an HEA. I also really enjoy books where scenes are set on my side of the world and appreciate reading the colloquial language that I am use to! I am definitely going for the next in the series! 5 Stars.

Rihanna is thrilled when Brayden, lead guitarist in the band she went to watch, seeks her out. We soon learn he has another job. He is protecting Rihanna who has accidentally become a target of terrorists who are after the Hendra virus to use it as a biological weapon. They want Rihanna because she is a veterinarian and has been researching the virus with her father. The twist here is that Brayden's DNA has been genetically altered along with several operatives in a top secret organization known as the Center so they each have DNA from the animals of the Chinese zodiac signs giving them more strength and speed among other things.

This book had a unique idea. Once I understood the concept of the animal skills/DNA altering, I enjoyed this story. Unfortunately for me the prologue was confusing and didn't make sense. I read it again after finishing the story then I understood it better. But the whole animal DNA concept was beyond me for the most part. I especially found the references to Brayden's animal skills confusing at first.

I love the cover on Finding Trust. A man putting a gun in the back of his pants (no shirt) looks very protective and sexy. Speaking of which there is lots of really hot sex in this story. It's actually bordering on erotica.

If you are looking for something a little different with unique characters try this book. I gave this book 3.5 stars.

Very different from anything I've read before..maybe because of this it took me a little getting into but once i got into it i was hooked. the storyline and idea behind the story is very clever. the paranormal edge was intriguing and soon had me gripped and wanting to know what more. add to that the love interest between Rih and Brayden and the fun friendship between Rih and Jazz, together with the side order of sarcastic wit between Jazz and Quade and i found it an all round enjoyable read. to start with I found Rih's questioning of Braydens characteristics a little unrealistic so early on, it kept being mentioned that she was doubting he was who he said he was, yet I couldn't see the reasoning behind her doubt.. it's not something you'd guess out of the blue. also some of the sex scenes felt like they'd been put in for the sake of getting more in again near the beginning of the story. overall though I did enjoy and am looking forward to reading more from this series. reviewed through Quirky Blind Date with a book where I was provided a copy for an honest review

Brayden James holds a secret that no one really knows about. Brayden is filling in for a friend in a band when he meets Rihanna. Brayden and Rihanna’s chemistry is very immediate and Brayden knows he will do anything and everything to protect her. Brayden is forced to tell Rihanna about a part of his life when her life is put into jeopardy. Brayden knows that his only job now is to keep her safe but the more time they spend together the more he wants from her. Even though she knows about a part of his life will his other secret be to much for her or will she give their love and relationship a chance?

I was drawn into this book from the very first chapter. I couldn’t get enough of this book. I loved the paranormal aspects to this book. This book had just enough romance and suspense that I usually look for in my books. I can definitely say this was the first book by this author but definitely not my last. I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

This is not your typical rock star story. True Braydon is a hot and super sexy rock star but he holds secrets that no more than a dozen or so people can ever know. Rihanna is a vet. She doesn't think she is all that and her past has dictated how any relationships go in her present. There is a connection between these two that neither expect or trust.

A serious situation brings the two together and while Bray should be keeping his head about him in order to protect Rhi, there is no stopping the train of lust that just won't stop.

Plenty of intrigue, sexy moments and secrets keep this story rolling. There are many characters in the book that intrigued me and make me what to read the rest of the series in order to find each characters ultimate conclusion.

Can Rhi learn to allow her heart to open to all the experiences that are available to her or will Bray's secrets tear the apart?

No two relationships are the same and it’s important to remember that there are no rules when it comes to relationships between a man and a woman. It’s up to you two to make your own based on your own needs, wants, and what works for you. The most important thing is you need to be honest with each other.
Natalie Gayle

Rihanna works with her father in their veterinary practice. They’ve recently been working on a vaccine to the fatal Hendra virus that affects both equines and humans. At a New Years Eve party with her best friend Jazz, Rihanna catches the attention of the lead guitarist, Brayden, and ends up going home with him. But when she a terrorist group targets Rihanna because of her research and threatens to use the Hendra virus as a biological weapon, Brayden reveals his unusual secret life. As the two work closely to stop the terrorist attack, there is an undeniable attraction neither can ignore.

I must say the amount of sex in this novel really surprised me. I received it as a part of a the Quirky Blind Dates with a Book review group on Facebook, so I’m not sure I knew this was a romance novel. It’s not something I’d normally pick up. But the sci-fi aspect of the novel is really cool! It’s original and interesting, and definitely has me wanting to read the rest of the series. It’s a very easy book to read, and Rihanna is relatable in her over thinking guys and needing her best friends advice. And it really emphasizes breaking down walls and giving love a chance. I really enjoyed this book, and definitely recommend it!

Loved It!!

I really enjoyed this story. The special abilities and how they came about was pretty unique, but definitely believable. I love that Bray had so many dimensions. He was my favorite kind of hero. Rihanna was sweet and sassy, brave and vulnerable. I can't help but love all of the secondary characters too, and look forward to reading more about them. There is only one thing I can say about the story that isn't exactly positive and that is I felt like the part of the story where Rihanna is trying to make a decision about their relationship dragged out a bit too long. Of course, not enough to make me lower my rating...lol.

Whoa, this book was an edge of your seat, action packed, adventure filled, schmexy book! Brayden James is a hot rock star who happens to lead a double life. Rihanna Mason is the sweet veterinarian out on a New Years Eve looking to have fun.

She finds oh so much more when she goes home with the sexy rock star. She soon becomes targeted in a terrorist plot where germ warfare is used. I've given up.at P185

After repetitive boring sex, Adonis men n a super model 3O year old describing herself (and by the author) as a girl - no she's a woman., I really hoped for action given the supernatural type base line and interesting slant of bio war fare though each is scant; there is no action just talking about it while the 'centre' sorts..it all. out (the 'men' do very little and the peripheral organisation does.it all) while the beautiful men n women just be beautiful, don't realise they are then are told they are.

This is a romantic suspense with a paranormal twist. Brayden has some "extra special" gifts to attract Rihanna even more. There is plenty of action with a lot of steam. Rihanna is a vet who's life gets turned upside down from her research. Through all the chaos, these two find each other and a whole lot more.

This is the second book that I've read by this author, and I really like her writing style. The books are interesting with a good meaty plot. This one mixes intrigue, international espionage, a secret covert organization, and spicy heat that ignites the pages. This is a first in series, and I want to learn about The Centre hand other characters.

This story is absolutely wonderful. Brayden and Rihanna are perfect for each other, but of course she's afraid of giving her heart away. I giggled so much while reading. The banter between characters is great. Strong alpha males and equally strong females. I couldn't get enough of this book and I'm definitely going to be reading the rest of the series.
