Steve Gallagher is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Pure Life Ministries. He is a prolific writer, having authored 12 books, including the best-selling At the Altar of Sexual Idolatry. He is also a regularly featured columnist in both print and web media. Steve holds an Associates of Arts degree from Sacramento City College and a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Master’s International School of Divinity. He is also a certified Biblical Counselor through the International Association of Biblical Counselors (IABC) in Denver, CO.

I am catholic and I enjoyed this book in a very deep way. This book contains fire within and is a perfect booster for the ones who feel defeated and discouraged. Steve Gallagher had become one of my favorite authors

Steve Gallagher doesn't hold back in this book; nothing is sugar coated. He hits hard at the message of what it truly takes to live a victorious Christian life. I cannot recommend this book more to those looking to take their Christian lives to the place God has for you. Instead of his own opinion, he focuses the reader on the passages in the bible that illustrate God's plan for each believer and then gives examples in life of how this has been done in the past; and not just by the Mother Teresa's of the world, but by real people that the layman can relate to. Don't read this expecting to come away with a superficial adrenaline rush. Instead be ready for real conviction in your life. If that's what you are searching for, this book's for you.

Most people, if they're honest, would admit to being in a spiritual battle of one sort or another.

This book helps us understand God as a God of mercy, who lovingly desires to help us each step of the way. Even His discipline is mercy. Abiding in Christ and knowing Him better is mercy, because apart from Him we can do nothing. (John chapter 15) Doing battle in God's power and wearing the armor He provides is mercy in action, because without God's strength we will lose. (Ephesians 6:10 and following)
