I couldn’t put this down! The suspense and tension were perfectly balanced, keeping me on the edge of my seat. The characters were so well fleshed out that I felt like I knew them. The twists were unexpected and added to the excitement. This is a must-read!
From the moment you first lay eyes on the dalek on the front cover, you know this book is going to be awesome.
Richard Thomas delves into the minds of many of the major players in bringing science fiction to the small screen. We get a detailed history of how Dr. Who came to be, as well as a smattering of other science fiction TV shows.
It covers shows I was familiar with such as Dr. Who, Star Trek and X-Files. It also gave me exposure to shows I'd never heard of such as Doomwatch and Lexx.
I am a big science fiction fan but I read much more than I watch TV. I've familiarized myself with the giants that brought us sf in the novel format, but this was almost entirely new information for me, since I am less familiar with the TV format.
If you are a science fiction fan, this short read will be fun to dive into the minds of some of those who brought you great monsters such as daleks and cybermen.
You may even discover, as I did, some new shows you need to hunt down and try out.
Full Disclosure: I received this book for free through the Goodreads First Reads Program.
