More Go by example: Improving single-digit kyu play

Rate this book
Subtitled "Improving single-digit kyu play", this new book is the result of intensive study of both the shortcomings in 1k to 9k play, and of the dan techniques that would elevate them above the kyu ranks. Like its predecessor for double-digit kyu players, it teaches by example - 50 game scenarios are presented to illustrate ideas.

This is a book for single-digit kyu rated players of the Oriental game of Go. You have become very competent but have yet to reach the top amateur dan ranks for various reasons. The book uses typical single-digit kyu game snapshots to illustrate common shortcomings in play, along with advanced alternative methods. All with easy-to-use one-move-at-a-time diagrams.

Follow-on to Go By Example, this book applies the same presentation techniques to the improvement of strong novice (kyu) players to amateur (dan) strengths. I found the problems useful in general, but some of the longer examples sketchier than those in the first book. Overall, a nice job.
