Caught in a deadly game, all Bailey’s mistakes seem like mere useless moments. If she could to go back in time, would she make the same choices? All these thoughts are hopeless if she doesn’t survive the game where she is a mere pawn.
Kalen is resolute to save Bailey no matter the cost to his bank account or his heart. He’s forced into a partnership with unlikely allies and comes face to face with foes from his past. None of it matters if he loses the woman he loves.
Can love balance the scales of two hearts torn asunder? Equity is the difference between their assets and the liabilities they’ve created. Will desire be the glue to bind them together or the catalyst that tears them apart?
This installment is told from both POV of Bailey and Kalen.
Shannon first love was reading, diving into other realities to explore and brave new worlds. To share her writing is the best experience of all. She writes both young adult, new adult and adult fiction. When Shannon isn't writing she loves to shop and watch horror movies that make turning out the lights seem like a stupid idea. Equity is the third and final book in the Balance Sheet series. I absolutely loved this series! Both Assets (book 1) and Liabilities (book 2) are on my favorites book shelve.
Equity picks up where Liabilities left off. Bailey has been kidnapped from her home community and both Kalen and Turner are frantic to find her. Kalen also calls in Matt (Lizzy’s brother) to assist. What a way to start….all 3 men who love Bailey are working together to rescue her!
Kalen uses his money and all of his resources to aid in the hunt for Bailey. Although Kalen wants Bailey back for himself he selflessly brings Matt in for his expertise and includes Turner because he knows Bailey loves him. They are all trying to stay positive but as time goes on they are worried what they may find.
While the guys are all searching for Bailey we shift to Bailey’s point of view. We experience what Bailey is suffering through. It’s a horrifying ordeal with no end in sight. She doesn’t know what her captors want from her and she’s terrified of what they may do.
Eventually Bailey is rescued (you’ll have to read to find out what she endured while in captivity) but her life is still a mess. She is still in danger from her captor’s associates, she has conflicted feelings about who she loves and who she should be with and she’s experiencing nightmares every night.
Bailey is whisked off to another country for her safety but circumstances leave her miserable so she escapes the watchful eye of the security teams that Kalen has on her. Out on her own, hurting and lonely Bailey finds a temporary savior for some of her problems.
There are several miscommunications that occur between Bailey and Turner and Bailey and Kalen that create angst within the two separate relationships.
Bailey finally chooses who she wants to be with but she can’t just ride off into the sunset with her chosen lover…that would be too easy. A major plot twist leaves Turner and Kalen hanging once again.
Eventually all of the pieces to the puzzle are put together to solve the many questions left unanswered from Assets, Liabilities and Equity. This book also has a HEA for Bailey and the man she chooses to spend her life with.
The reasons I didn’t give Equity 5 stars is because there was one situation that wasn’t fully explained and another situation that I didn’t feel was fully wrapped up. I was also frustrated and angry with Bailey and how she handled herself through most of the book and finally I would have liked the ending of the story to have stayed more in the present instead of jumping so far into the future. Still a great read!
This is one of my favorite series and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes contemporary romance with intrigue and hot sex!
Yay! Kalen is finally back and I’m loving it!!!! I love the romantic aspect of this and there were definitely parts in this book that I just wanted to scream at both Kalen and Bailey oh how idiotic they are being. This book was amazing in that it tied everything together and it was so hard to put down and I read the entire thing in one sitting. This last chapter had everything that reader wants, jealously, heartache, drama, tension, fear and corruption. I liked that there wasn’t too much dragging on with the story and it was a goo pace. It was much better than the second book although I could just be bias since Kalen wasn’t really in liabilities.
I absolutely love this series. I had read Assets and Liabilities some time ago and once I started reading Equity, I quickly picked up where the last book left off. Equity is a well-written story that keeps you guessing right up to the end. Shannon Dermott has the ability to grab hold of her readers with an excellent storyline and twists you don't see coming. This book has every possible thing a reader wants in a book... deception, corruption, jealousy, fear, guilt, heartache, drama, tension, forgiveness, with lust and love thrown in. The Balance Sheet Series is a story of how true love can survive obstacles and make you stronger.
EQUITY completes the Balance Sheet, in more ways than one actually lol. It was a stubbornly romantic story which made me want to just screen at Kalen and tell him how much of an jerk he really was being! Bailey was the same way at one point but thankfully things happen to make them realize exactly what they had! Amazing ending to a wonderful story! Oh and I also loved the extra "Lizzy" story at the end! She really cracks me up!
Wow!!!!! This book was amazing :). The writing tied everything together and I never wanted to put it down. Which I didn't until the last page! I'm so happy how it ended and everything was just amazing:). Thank you!!!!!
hmm! I love Kalen! great ending and with the way liabilities ended I'm happy with how everything turned out! I'd love a Griff spinoff please please! Excited to see how that Lizzy teaser turns out!
What can I say, I originally started this due to the first book being free, and loved it! I finished it quickly and HAD to know what happened next. It had so many ups and downs and ugh, so good. No disappointments here!
