In Bed with the Vampire Assassin

Rate this book
[Siren Everlasting Classic Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, vampires, werewolves, HEA] Anderson Collins was kidnapped by a band of mercenaries hired by the vampires. They want to send a message for all the men his friend killed. He never thought he would be rescued by a vampire, or that he would be an assassin formerly employed by the very vampires out for revenge. Noir Fenrir is officially done taking orders. His former employers tried to kill him, so he will make sure they don't get what they want. Unfortunately, he didn't get away before he was poisoned. He needs a healer, and the handsome human he saved knows where he can find one. But Anderson is no human. He's a werewolf, and things get complicated when he mates with Noir. Despite the fact that they have every reason to distrust each other, they have to rely on each other in order to survive, and it would be difficult for any mated couple to not fall in love with those odds. ** A Siren Erotic Romance

Forget the silly title. (Who thinks of these, anyway?) This was adorable. Anderson and Noir make a cute pair.

Sure, the story as such does not strike me as terribly original, but I can’t care about that when there are wholly likeable characters to be had.

I really do like that when this author does things right (as opposed to certain volumes that did not hit the spot for me) it’s really pretty satisfying.
The guys are not perfect and neither are they immediately so gone on one another that no one else is even visible, but they usually become deeply attached fairly soon and are then unfailingly loyal. As far as I recall, anyway. Certainly in this series thus far.
And that’s necessary, what with the somewhat hostile environment. I kind of want to skip ahead to where perhaps (I hope) more support has been aggregated.
But yeah, the guys feel oddly real to me. Difficult to explain, so I’ll just leave it at that.

Oh, I’m definitely not that nervous anymore about reading on. (So of course this is where things are bound to go bad.)

I don't know what else to say abt this book other than it was BORING! !! The first book in the series was OK but the second attempt was just bad. The sex scenes were random and tedious. Far from Hot. The characters had lots of potential but even they couldn't carry the storyline. The sad part is the plot has been used before and used well. However nothing interesting happened in this book! Putting the MCs on a roadtrip add in an accidental mating and it SHOULD equal success! Not so here.
I'm hoping the next installment will pick up the pace. The world this book is set in has soo much potential I'd like the books to live up to it.

I must say that I liked this book less than the first one and this not bcs our MCs were imperfect, our vampire Noir with the scars on his face and our werewolf Anderson with his bad knee, but bcs the author didn't explain anything more about the humans war against the supernatural creatures and I couldn't really feel the love btw Noir and Anderson, at least not until they mated for error and then it seemed they both started feeling something more than lust.

The book wasn't bad, but it was way too short and with little plot and this didn't satisfy me. I have too many questions and still no answers, and also if I like some good sex scenes in an M/M book I'm reading, I really love to have also a plot.

For all this I rated this 3 stars. Sadly in the next book we will have 2 mates getting separated and one of them will sleep with other people and I already know that I'll not be a fan of that book, but maybe I'll read it, since I want to go to the 4th one, that seems interesting.

Let's see...

I thought book 2 came out better in my opinion. The vampire from book one that was going to rescue Will, we find out sooo much more about him. Actually half vampire, previous slave (already known) with more background given.

Anderson on the other hand...why is he unlike any other werewolf known? White wolf, weak senses, and even with healer Will his knee only feels better but is not corrected. My first thought was an omega type character but this is obviously not confirmed. While we get the low-down on how he became infected, the WHY of his....temperament (gentle non aggressive etc unlike all other known werewolves) remains a mystery.

The HOW of an accidental mating is still up for grabs as well. Unfortunately I didn't find the sexual relations to be over the top blow up my skirt. They came across as mediocre but in this instance I was more interested in how the characters related than in hot monkey sex but this also can break a story. Again I will continue to book 3 seeing as I didn't find this to be the total disaster some other reviewers may feel like.

This story wasn't a bad one. From the quality of this storyline, it's a simple fast paced light romance. I liked both MC's, they were nice enough. But for me, their romance developed to fast and to abrupt. This story was to plain and boring. Blah,....

I love Marcy Jacks' books but here is a series I just can't fall in love with. Don't ask me why is that. I just can't love it. I like but I can't love it for some reason.

Not much. I really don't understand why they fell in love. The background sucks. The world-building is poor. It's all very shallow and undeveloped. Waste of potential for me.
