This book illustrates why I have a hard time giving the books more than three stars. There’s been little to no growth in Maggie’s character. She’s still selfish, throws tantrums, does not communicate, has little to no consideration for the feelings of others and it’s annoying. I really hope the author injects some maturity into Maggie’s character and her relationship with others , it’s way past time. The mysteries are great, crossing the globe to find hidden treasures all while evading bad guys and doing it with a core group of quirky family and friends A+. The side characters are good, working for a secret govt agency, great; moving locations in each book, excellent. Just.. Maggie.. ugh

I was peeved at the MFC for most of the book because of the way she was treating her fiancé. I also thought that she was too self centered and manipulative. The bad guy was both disgusting and charming in a way. Hated the way he coerced people to get his own way. I loved the other characters. Otherwise, the adventure was exciting, humorous, and non-stop action! It was a fun read.

This was a great adventure story. Maggie is a female version of Indiana Jones. You feel part of the story and right there, going along, looking for the gold too. Great fun. Definitely recommend.

Greyback Gold

This is the fourth book in the Maggie Edwards Adventure series and it did not disappoint. The story begins with a bored and anxious Maggie Edwards looking for a new adventure that she can embrace and check out, for both the excitement of the adventure and to keep her mind off setting a date for her upcoming wedding. Maggie learns from her ex-boyfriend of a lost, confederate gold treasure that went missing during the end of the American civil war and the lost River of Blood that some say runs below her hometown and contains a key to finding the treasure. Maggie gathers up her team of treasure hunters and embarks on a dangerous and deadly expedition to track down the treasure and solve the thrilling mystery. Along the way, Maggie must deal with an assortment of deadly obstacles, including an old nemesis that will do anything to possess the treasure for himself.
I enjoyed the treasure-hunting adventure. The characters were well-written, witty, and convincing. The character relationships were skillfully intertwined to provide an entangled scenario on several fronts. The FMC was somewhat abrupt and self-centered on a few occasions, but that factored into the storyline and was rationalized as the story developed. The plot had an abundance of suspense, tension, emotion, and even some romance to keep the reader enthralled throughout the tale. I found the storyline action-packed, fast-paced, and addictive. I would recommend the book and am looking forward to the next Maggie Edwards Adventure. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy

In this Maggie adventure with her friends, we find out that Maggie and Henry are engaged. But something is up with Maggie. She is acting weird. She does some majorly crazy things in this book while stating that she doesn’t have to choose a date for the wedding. *blinks* Yeah, this from the woman who chooses her dress months ahead of time. I don’t think so! Lol

The rest of the gang try to help keep her happy as she is bored. I wanted to yell at Maggie, addicted much to adrenaline, huh? Sheesh. The Halloween party that Charlie and Piper throws is adorable and I am upset that Mags didn’t let Henry be Indiana Jones. (I mean really- Henry is Indie’s real name!) lol

Majorly weird stuff is going on below the building where the two couples live. No one is allowed into the basement? Whyfor? So of course, Maggie drags the rest of the girls with her into crazy town underworld. The title of the book gives it away- Greyback’s gold. Confederate gold. Wait until you hear the story on this one! Lol. I was like what—?! I think this one is the scariest one, out of the four books. I can’t wait to see if Maggie talks everyone into searching for King Solomon’s mines.

I must saythat this is a amazing series!
But, even that every story is a new adventure, without reading the previous books, you will not get the relationships between characters, some references to past adventures….
So, I purceded to read all books - in fact, re-read Cleopatra’s tomb, and read the rest of them.
And I must say that seem the books seem better and better, and Maggie evolve quite a lot from the first book to the second.
On the first one, she was sometimes not believable, even silly (kindly speaking).
But a lovable one, very smart and with a lot of guts.
From the Secrets of the ankhs we get another Maggie - not only smart and witty, but a true leader.
I love this Maggie! With her stubbornness and her princess attitude (yeah, Henry’s nickname for her is quite fitting).
And of course, their adventure is awsome! A fast paced, thrilling adventure that is quite the description of the series.
So - Solomon’s mines are next?.

Maggie is a pistol and in this adventure she's pulled into a wild tale about gold that starts in her own small town. The interactions with her friends are funny and it's obvious they've been there for each other through a lot and friends for years based on the camaraderie and the jibes they make at each other, keeps it funny as they attempt to get through one near death experience after another. Fun adventure read that takes you from America all the way to Venezuela.
On another note the adventure is great but I almost hated Maggie in this one, her attitude towards Henry and her secrets were incredibly irritating, but right at the end you get an explanation for her behavior and it's both completely relatable and fun, so glad it totally made sense because I was ready to be really sad that Maggie turned into someone I didn't like. But no fear she's still likable and bossy!

I'm usually more of a slow reader, yet I've read this book in a day. A page turner it is!
I haven't read the previous 3 books of the series, yet I followed this group's adventures and got attached to the characters all the same.

We're following Maggie, an agent for a government agency looking for ancient artefact, and her team of friends/colleagues. They're off to find Confederate gold but... She's also just engaged and both her fiance and her ex are part of the team

The story goes between action and snappy dialogues

Loved it
You'll love it too!

Greyback Gold is the fourth episode in the Maggie Edwards Adventure series. In this book, Maggie decides to do a little gold hunting to take her mind off her upcoming wedding plans. So, Maggie and her team, including her fiance and ex-boyfriend, follow the dangerous trail from home to Venezuela in order to find the lost Confederate gold. There are lots of life-threatening situations, an old nemesis, and plenty of thrills as she ultimately finds her way to the end of her adventure. It was entertaining.

Maggie's odd behavior started with not setting a wedding date. Secret meetings with Leo make Henry and Emma suspect a reunion. Even though Maggie furiously denies any such thing, she won't speak up. Not until Emma and Maggie are put into a precarious position when they are taken at gunpoint by Brent. This story has plenty of action, plus a lot of bellyaching, and romance, ending with a cliffhanger. Very highly recommended.

I received a copy of this book from the author.

There’s a mystery to solve and treasure to be found and who better to do it than Maggie and her team of adventurers?

Unfortunately they are not the only ones searching for the treasure.

Great plot and storyline. The characters are so believable with arguments and misunderstandings.

Bring on the next book in the series.

There are several twists and turns as our lead character searches for answers and goes on an adventure that will reveal some secret and unknown facts. Like the strong female lead character and the setting for the story. Good read.
