I have dreamed of becoming a writer since I was about 15, in fact I can pin point when it first started. When a friend of the family tragically passed away at the age of 11 I took to writing poetry in order to process my feelings. 2 of these poems were published in books and I felt an enormous sense of pride. This led to other forms of writing, stories that allowed me to vent my emotions without hurting anyone or doing anything I would regret. Back then I started a book but after what can only be described as a major disaster (my computer crashed) I lost it all. At that age I just didn't possess the discipline necessary to start again. I became distracted by the same things as most teenage girls, boys, hair, make up etc, and allowed my dream to fall to the wayside.

After a failed marriage and a big move to New Zealand I decided it was time to find myself again and with that came writing. The more I wrote the more I fell in love with it all over again. My dream had been rekindled and numerous stories began to form inside my mind, in fact it is fair to say that I now spend much of my time in a complete dream world. So I took a good look at the stories in my head and eventually I picked one and worked hard to turn the basic idea that had first come to me into a book worthy of reading. Now I am proud to have finally achieved at least the first part of my goal, to publish a book. And I am proud of the book itself.

May it be the first of many.

This is a gritty story and flows pretty well, keeping you interested. The concept is great - murdering drunk drivers. This is an original plot as far as serial killers go so good on the author for that, and for the mostly pretty good active writing.

I would give it a higher rating except it has a tendency towards cliche paraphrasing and I didn't like the voice it was written in. It wasn't convincing. I think if the author used more originality with the way the characters act and gave herself credit for having a convincing plot then she might be more confident with the characters. Thus giving the main characters a more credible voice. This author has plenty of potential but may need tighter editing to be really good. More careful editing needed to eliminate the several minor typos.

I didn't like any of the characters and the tragedy of the circumstances was not described well enough to evoke an emotional response from me even with regard to Sarah who found herslef in such dire circumstances. However in saying that I did feel strong dislike for the 'firestarter' and especially for the dentist, but the fireman (Chris) & the policeman (Luke) really annoyed me. Perhaps there was too many bad things happening and not enough building of characters with substance. I will read more by this author as she has originality in her plots which is refreshing.

Enjoyable Read

It was very a very sad read, but also kept you turning the page praying for justice. The book moved at a fast pace, but it was also very detailed weaving several spirits into one.

Wow. This was good. Scary good. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a good scare on how a warped mind can do really bad things. This kept me gripped in suspense for the entire story. Well done!
