Legacy only thought she had this goddess thing under control. Well, as much as any other chick could have given the crazy circumstances. But when she learns the truth about her abilities, she is forced to keep a secret so powerful that she and the people closest to her could get hurt if it falls into the wrong hands.
Then there’s Venus, the goddess Adin is bonded to. And River, the god Legacy is bonded to. Do Legacy and Adin have a chance at a real relationship or are these external factors going to pull them apart? It won’t stop them from trying…or letting things heat up between them as they explore the boundaries of their relationship. Where’s the fun in just focusing on her ascension? Nothing wrong with having fun with her boyfriend.
M.W. Muse is the young adult pen name for the USA Today Bestselling author Mandy Harbin. She loves creating stories that explore the complexities of everyday relationships…with some kissing thrown in.
Still liking this series very much. Every book ends with such a cliffhanger, I can't wait to start the next one. It's a good thing I have all the ones available right now. I don't know what I'm going to do when I get to the final one and have to start waiting for the next book. =D
I received this book as part of a goodreads giveaway.
This book continues on where the last book left off. Legacy is still clueless, Adin is still Mr perfect, River is a useless Lapdog, and Lissa is still away on work. Since Adin has started college we are introduced to Venus, the person Adin is linked to, and River actually spends sometime with Legacy. Legacy continues to treat River like something she stepped in and Adin becomes more distant, in fact Adin seems to only around when Legacy is home alone and Legacy wants to take this further than the kissing Adin is only willing to go. Legacy powers continue to grow and her true legacy becomes clear, yet after being advised not to tell anyone she manages not only to tell Calli but Adin and left River and Medusa know.
Legacy continues to be extremely annoying and make bazaar decisions and blame River for everything. Yet the book is better than the first, still without really going anywhere.
This series is pretty good. The books are shorter than what I am used to, so they go by quickly. I cannot figure out if I want Legacy to end up with River or Adin. At times the book gets kind of boring because it is repetitive. Legacy says, "I hate Venus, but I want to be friends with River!" Adin says, "You have to trust me with Venus, and I hate you being friends with River!" That is pretty much the just of the whole book.
It started with a FREE offer with the first in the series. Free is always a good thing right? In this case, yes. I was pleasantly surprised by this author! She shares my love and desire of wanting to get through the entire series of a story without having to wait FOREVER for the next book in the series to come out. And don't even get me started on the authors who don't even FINISH a series but keep going and going and going, you get the picture.
M.W. Muse puts a spin on mythology that I hadn't thought of, it intrigued me and had me immediately downloading the other five in the series - yes, all of them - she made them all available!! I plowed through them all.
Intrigue, mystery, danger, romance (book five and six went a little more into detail with the scenes between the main character and the love interest but it definitely kept me interested!) - all of these rolled into six great books that kept my attention. I was angry with the author, frustrated, elated, and ultimately glad I read them.
Sure I would have liked to see something more with the last one - some story lines didn't seem to wrap up - could there be a spin off series?? Perhaps. This author is definitely talented enough to do that and keep me interested!
Once again...two stars instead of the three I would ordinarily give it-- EDITING!!! Same pronoun problem as the first book.
Actually, I'd probably only give this one 2.5 because the sexuality and lack of parental presence (or even authority) within the scope of the novel is disappointing. The only parent actually involved in their child's life on a semi-consistent basis is Medusa and even she- in this novel, unlike the first- scarcely breathes an appearance.
And what the heck does Lissa actually DO? She is constantly having to leave town for one reason or another... it doesn't even seem legit. Just a tool to get the authority figure out of the way. And really, what authority figure is she? She skims the surface of a talk about Adin spending the night and prefacing her "concern" with the statement "I can't really tell you what to do".
And where the heck is Olive? There was such a big deal made in the first book about how Olive is really adopted but no one cares because Lissa took her in as a baby...and we see her (if I remember correctly) ONCE, and in this second novel the only memorable reference to her is for Legacy to run to her room to look at Rose's house.
This book is the second in the Goddess Series and while a bit too short for my liking, it was a wonderful and mythical continuation of Legacy's life. Legacy is faced with her upcoming ascension and she thinks she has this goddess thing worked out. But as her relationship with Adin gets steamier and her emotions begin to take over she realizes that how she feels controls much more than she ever thought possible. And one secret is weighing heavily on her soul. How can one girl keep a secret so vital to the well-being of all those around her to herself, and will she be able to? Legacy and Adin's relationship continues to evolve as more players in the mythological game come to the foreground. Venus is the goddess Adin is bonded to, and her and Adin now attend college together. Will this cause heartache between Legacy and Adin or will this make their relationship stronger? I have fallen head over heels for Adin and his gentlemanly ways! I am very excited to read the next book in this series and to see where the story takes Legacy next.
I find the second book to be really short but it was interesting enough to still make want to read it.
Legacy’s story continues as she delves deeper into this gods/goddesses. Her relationship with Adin continues and tends to be on the deeper side of things although there comes the issue of trust because Adin is bonded to Venus. There were some twist and turns in the story. I liked the characters more here since there was more depth to them. I disliked the cliffhanger but luckily I have the next book of the series to read.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
this series has been a very good read I haven't read a book that's actually just HAD to buy the series, these books have made me want to buy and read them all there's so many twists and turns it's great:)
I didn’t think this book was as good as the first book, and I deemed that one as “just ok.” I didn’t think the characters were well thought out and kept waiting for something to happen in the book and nothing ever did. This is definitely the end of the series for me.
