Seventeen-year-old Kat Harper has always dreamed of silver-screen kisses, the kind of love you see in the movies. That’s exactly what she gets the summer before college when she meets her brother’s best friend Bryan. He’s five years older, but that doesn’t stop them from falling into a summer romance so perfect it could have been scripted by Hollywood. They kiss in the back row of the movie theater, on the beach at night, even on the quiet streets of her hometown when no one’s looking. Surely, he’s falling as hard for her as she is for him, right? But Bryan breaks her heart and leaves with barely an explanation, forcing Kat to move on from her first love... until five years later, when he walks back into her life. Now she has to face the truth that she's never gotten over him. Is it possible he hasn’t stopped thinking about her too?

What a nice little teaser, and introduction to this series (although this short story is included within the first book in the series Caught Up in Us).
No real need to read this if you read the book "Caught Up in Us." This is more of a preview/lead-in to Caught Up in Us, which has this book contained in one of the early chapters. Sort of a waste...
As much as I want to read the main story, that would take some consideration. Then again, this is just basically a prologue of the pair's love story from five years back. Yes, it makes me curious as to why he cut it off with her when things were already looking good. But maybe some other time.
***EDIT*** from what i can see there is not much point in reading this prequel. When i got to chapter 4 of Caught Up In Him i found that it is quite literally the entire first chapter of this book was just an exert from here (not even paraphrased)... personally i think that is bad form and was almost enough for me to want to stop reading
***Edit 2*** chapter 8 is also reading as surprisingly familiar sorry but considering how short this novella is this is enough to lose a star
Wow that was short even for a novella. At about 20 pages this does a perfect job of whetting the appetite before starting on the main course Caught Up In Him. That being said very little information is given, there is only so much you can say in 20 pages. but without being given many romantic scenes or lines the main factor you are left with is is the ditch (that came out of nowhere) which leaves me thinking the guy is a jerk. Oh well plenty of time to fall for him in the next book.
I liked the story in and of itself. It seems like it would make a great book. I didn't realize that this was the pre-book to the main novel coming out. I usually won't buy a prequel, to me they seem useless.
I will say that I liked the Characters of Kat and Bryan. I liked where this story was going. I just wished it would have given more of their summer together. This was 3 chapters of mostly Kat explaining what was going on. We got some of Bryan.
But turthfully as much as I liked this, it was too damn short. I paid $2.99 for 3 chapters that took me 20mins to read. you also get the first chapter of the main book. But for me it was great characters, but way to damn short.
Will I buy the full length book? Don't know. Gotta think about it.
I really enjoyed the way they fell in love with each other. This was no insta-love, which was great. They are too many that have the couple fall in love before you past first chapter, now if done right it's wonderful, but if not it losses something. Kat and Bryan meet when her brother brings him home for college break. They find out they have so many things in common. their friendship grows from that. By end of summer they have fall in love. But, some things don't go as planed,so he does something he knows he will always regret and that is break-up with her, thoroughly broke her heart. I cried a lot, I have to admit, but I am glad there is 2nd book to finish this story (Caught Up In Us)!! Loved this, recommend to all, but make sure to get the 2nd too!!
This is a very short teaser as they call it to Caught Up In Us. Kay Harper meets Bryan and is instantly attracted to him. Bryan likes her too but he is hesitant to do anything more than kiss because he's her brothers best friend and their age difference. It's only 5 years but he still feels he's too old for her and when she asks him if when she turns 18 if that would be better he says yes. Now she has something to look forward to. Suddenly things change between them and he just shuts her out. This is where the story ends
Caught Up in Him is a short story of young love that left me wanting more. This was a great read that is well written, I fell in love with the characters immediately. This book is for the romantics, the heart broken and anyone that enjoys a short journey of love. 3 words for this book "I want more"! This is a 4 star, must read and I moved on to "Caught Up In Us". This author has not disappointed me yet, this is another great read from this author but don't stop here. Take the journey to "Caught Up In Us"!
This is a short story that makes me happy I have a Nook because I wanted the full book immediately! Be warned that Caught Up In Us is just a teaser that will leave you wanting more. What every good book should do. The writing is exceptional and witty making it a joy to read. Now I just need to find out why Bryan, why!?!
Great teaser to Caught Up in Us. I liked the story in and of itself. It seems like it would make a great book. This was a captivating pre-book to the main novel.
Kat Harper met Bryan, her brother's best friend when she was seventeen. Five years her senior. Her first love. Her first butterfly-in-your-stomach kind of kiss. Her best mistake. Her summer love. Until he left her without an explanation and broke her heart. The first book of the series is a novella that introduces the characters and how they met. A cute little intro about Kat and Bryan.
Good for a teaser. Didn't realize it was a teaser and though it was going to give me a bigger picture of the time Kat and Bryan spent together that summer. This felt redundant to what book 1 already gave us.
I gave this 3 stars simply for the fact that all of the info in this book is in the first book. So it really isnt that necessary for you to read it. It just helps give a back story that almost spoiles the beginning of the book in my opinion. The real books is so worth it though.
corta historia que muestra el comienzo de la historia entre los protagonistas, que continua en la saga. a mi parecer fue cdemasiado corta y precipitada, que no muestra bien todo, y no se entiende bien
I think that because this book was so short it could have been put at the beginning of the actual Caught up in us book. I think it was good introduction for the next book because it made me want to find out what will happen to them, but first of all how they will get back together.
It's not available anymore apparently, but that's ok as it was entirely created from a few excerpts from Caught Up in Us. Which I did not know prior, and so I ended up skipping a few entire chapters in the full story having already read them in this short.
Read this series a while back. I already read the Nate POV and their story. It was a nice refresher and a reminder of how sweet a love story this was. Now I'm onto the next book that closes all the couples from this series.
Teaser of book 1 - glad it was free, am now reading book 1 in this series and this teaser is in this book, I am enjoying book 1 but you don't need this teaser first.
This is a good to read because it lets u get sneak peek of the book...just in case you had any doubts about reading the series! It's awesome and I recommend just starting with Caught up in Us!! ;)
