Tyson—the Wolf had been nothing but an annoyance to Justice since he’d sought refuge with the Wolf pack. Sure, the kid may be cute enough, but he’s more hyper than a kid jacked up on candy, and he never knows when to shut up. So, why is it that Justice feels an attraction to the hyper Wolf with a motor mouth? What’s more, why is he so protective of him?
Ever since the Justice came to the pack, Tyson had a mad crush on Justice. There is just something about the quiet Tiger shifter that calls to Tyson and makes him want to claim the man as his own, so Tyson is sad and disappointed when Justice seems to always be so annoyed with him.
Then another pack moves in and tries to take the Wayne County Pack's territory, and everybody is going to have to work together to survive. Will Justice be able to protect Tyson? Or will Tyson’s eagerness to please get him into trouble?

Okay so I love this world that Stephani Hecht has created with Lost Shifters and Wayne County Wolves, however this series is a bit confusing. It feels like plotlines that were set up in the first couple of books were discarded and remade.
A fun book, this instalment from the Wayne County Country pack is the story of Tyson, a bouncy insecure wolf, and Justice, solemn meditating tiger, brother to Wright.
This is a good addition to the series and enjoyable to read. So why the low stars? well...
What let me down for this book is the single thought that kept going through my head WHAT HAPPENED TO TYSON'S PAST!?!
Other than this and as another reviewer mention, the name, which is weird because at no time is Tyson called or mention as a 'nibbler', this was a good book.
This book would have probably gotten a 2.5 if one of the main characters hadn't changed from early books in the series. Tyson appeared in book two and had a good portion of his history revealed (how his father sold him and he's worried over his potentially also omega brother) and he is NOT the Tyson in this book. I actually had to go and recheck book two to make sure I hadn't mixed up character names but they are supposed to be the same character. When I saw who Justice's love interest was, I was surprised but expectant for Tyson's story but Hecht completely revamped Tyson in this book and it wasn't for the better. I was severely disappointed. Hecht needs to keep better track of what she has already said about characters and not make up a new story for someone who already has one.
I love this series and all her works, just dont like it when things are changed so much. 3.5 cause; Tyson's back story in this one doesn't match the the back story he gave in bk 2. His story got changed. This one his brother is big and mean. But we were told before in bk 2 he had a smaller brother that he was afraid was an omega also and Chris was sending a team in to get him. And he was sold not beaten up and dumped. Then nothing more said. Like bk 2 version better.
So umm...why were these two together? I don't get it. Justice is constantly annoyed with Tyson. The name of the book doesn't make sense either, it should be Justice's Little Annoyance since that's really what he calls Tyson. Rude much?
Justice is the tall dark and broodingly silent type. At least until he meets his mate Tyson who brings him out of his shell. A cute, sweet read and it's nice to see that theres more to Tyson than meets the eye.
This review is for all of the Lost Shifters, Wayne County Wolves, and Assassin's Loyalty books since they are all interconnected and I read them back-to-back pretty much nonstop over a 10 day period. If I have anything to say about a particular book I'll add it under this bulk review. First, I'd like to mention these are more like novellas than books but they have the same underlying theme and pretty much continue where the last left off but with a different couple.
Everything starts out with the Lost Shifters. To summarize there was a war between the feline shifters and the raven shifters. 20 years or so before the first book there was an all out slaughter in which hundreds of feline homes were attacked and burned down all of the occupants believed to be killed. Turns out that the babies and toddlers that were assumed lost were not. They were hidden within the human foster care system for the most part. I won't say how because that'd be a big spoiler. In addition to foster care some kids were sold into slavery and that's where the whole assassin thing comes in. A couple of the main characters marry into the wolf pack so that's where those books come in as well.
Pros: Since the books are so short there are no long drawn out boring details or general angst. There's usually only one sex scene although it's normally long as hell. Which makes the fact some people shelved these as erotica confusing. I liked the world building and even though there were times I think a little more info might have been nice it never detracted from the story or left me confused. Most of the relationships were a sort of love at first sight thing. Or maybe lust or obsession? Despite this the shifters all seem adamant that's not a thing that happens. There wasn't one character I didn't like. My favorite character was Shane and he must have been the author's as well since he got a few extra books and a side series Shane's Chronicles. There's no big end battle or anything but the last book Baily's 9th Life does pretty much tie things up nicely. I think if I'd been reading the series when they were released I'd be a bit miffed because that book didn't come out until a few years later if you weren't reading the assassins books. Also, these books all have some really funny moments and/or dialog.
Cons: The last several books didn't appear to have been edited at all. If if wasn't for the fact that I was so invested in the overall story arc I would have quit reading them. Things like sent instead of scent and too instead of to they instead of them and random wrong words completely. There were also a couple of times that things were said/thought almost verbatim in different parts of a book as if the author forgot she'd already put that info in there already. At the start of the series, they state that all feline shifters are bisexual but at some point the author must have forgotten that detail because suddenly there are gay shifters and homophobia and all this hate. Which brings me to my next con, the themes of the different books started to repeat. Suddenly all these shifters had been thrown out of their previous pack or coalition or human home for being gay. And throughout this huge series of books there was only one straight couple. Like not even a straight friend or whatever. Even the females were all lesbians. It was just kinda unrealistic especially with the whole gay hate thing going on. Usually there's at least a few couples or friends or something on the periphery in gay romances especially in a world this huge. Which brings me to my final con, I had a hard time remembering who was who and what there story was after awhile especially if they weren't mentioned much in previous books. I wish there had been some sort of glossary to review.
Despite the cons, I would still recommend these books. All-in-all I really enjoyed them and was dreading the end although the editing in the last few books really had me also looking forward to the end if I'm being honest.
When it comes to writing a great paranormal/shapeshifter series, Stephani Hecht is definitely a master storyteller. I love the world she creates for her shifters and always find myself totally captivated with every story her heroes have to tell.
One of the things I really liked about this book was the non-stop action as well as the strong attraction and emotional connection between Justice and Tyson. At first glance, these men seem to be total opposites, but as they continue to get to know each other, they really began to fit together quite nicely.
Both heroes were likeable men. Justice has had a very tramatic childhood. He and his adoptive family were raised and abused in a lab. Once they escaped they found their way into Wayne County Pack were he and his sibs are accepted as their own. Justice is still coming to terms with having an accepting pack when he’s totally blown away by the sexy and very talkative, Tyson.
Tyson too has been through hell and back. His own brother (who was the Alpha of his old pack) tried to kill him and although the Wayne County Pack took him in, Tyson still has pain and guilt for being associated with his former pack. He’s had a major crush on Justice and when Justice finally begins to notice him, Tyson is both amazed and overjoyed that the big tiger shifter is really his mate.
The action and the romance between Tyson and Justice immediately captured this reader’s attention and I ended up reading this book from start to finish without interruption. I really enjoyed watching these men form a bond between them and ended up loving both heroes. If you are looking for a quick, sexy and action filled read, Justice’s Little Nibbler is definitely the book for you!
Justice’s Little Nibbler is the fourth book in the Wayne County Wolves series. Although it could probably be read as a stand-alone in the series, I highly recommend reading these books in series order. This way you’ll fully understand the dynamics within the pack and the struggle they are going through just to survive. Plus, past characters do interact with each other and believe me, once you start reading this series, you’ll be immediately hooked!
The Wayne County Wolves series in book order are:
Ervin’s Dilemma Run, Alger, Run! Braxton’s Salvation Justice’s Little Nibbler
Justice's Little Nibbler is the fourth story in the Wayne County Wolves series, a gay shifter tale by Stephani Hecht. This is not a standalone novel; to get the full effect of the story readers should be familiar with previous books in the series. Hecht is a good writer, so the characters in Justice's Little Nibbler are interesting and entertaining with clear voices and characteristics.
Justice, one of the main characters in this episode, is a strong tiger shifter who works to protect the motley new pack he and his siblings are now a part of. Tyson, on the other hand, is a young wolf shifter with serious hots for Justice.
Unfortunately, for Tyson, Justice's chief feeling about the young wolf is that he's an annoyance. The focus of Justice's Little Nibbler is primarily Justice's change in opinion. When external forces confront the shifter pack, circumstances force Justice to see Tyson in a new light. They come together amidst violence and war and the chemistry between Justice and Tyson is fiery.
This particular novel does not progress the story of the Wayne County Wolves much, since the focus is the relationship between Justice and Tyson. The pack is still at risk at the end of the tale and serious questions about Justice and his siblings remain unanswered.
Justice's Little Nibbler raises lots of questions, unfortunately it does not answer very many. Also, without background from earlier books in the series, immersion in the romance between Justice and Tyson is difficult. Like many shifter novels, Justice's Little Nibbler relies on the "mate bond" to bring together couples. The immediate sexual attraction this relationship promotes leaves little opportunity to actually build relationships.
I liked Justice's Little Nibbler, so I'm going to pick up the earlier books from the series. Hecht is a fine writer and her stories are always entertaining. This one gets 3 stars, since I'm looking forward to the next episode.
I’d been excited to read Justice and Tyson’s book after finishing the last one, but the potential for a decent romance gets lost by the constraints this author seemed to have trying to give us a lot of bang for a shorter length book. We don’t get to read much about Tysons crush on Justice or his realization of getting the guy he longs for. It’s mentioned but not explored. Justice, who isn’t supposed to be much of a talker had a decent amount of dialog in the last book and was quite chatty in this one too, so he’s not staying much in ‘character’. Tyson is cute though and I liked him ok and he makes a good match for Justice. Good storyline, but a bit lacking as a romance, mostly its more erotica I guess. And Defeat? Ohh…HATE HER! We get an interesting development at the end of the story so of course I’ll have to continue the seires to find out what happens.
BUT, can I just RANT for just a moment?? I HATE the whole ‘I can’t believe I thought that’ or ‘where did that thought come from’ comments we get from our MCs narratives. Can we say ‘writing crutch’? And one that I get in almost every story of hers. Weak writing, in my opinion, and it makes me cringe every time! Usually it’s followed by a mental shrug and an ‘ok, so this relationship is moving fast, but two days to fall in love, that’s not so weird, I’m sure it’ll last, right’? (Ok, so I’m paraphrasing on this part, but you get the idea!).
Definitely the nicest one among the decent bunch in this series. Both guys turned out fairly nice and reasonable and they avoided dragging things out needlessly.
The back-story gained the edge of threat that was referenced in the Lost Shifters books that were published parallel to this. I just hope it won’t get worse because, well, that would be depressing. While some tension is fine, constant murder, mayhem and restriction tend to bring the mood down.
3.5 to 4 stars For some reason I thought I had read this already.. I'm glad I noticed (in goodreads) that was not the case.
We have keeps to himself, meet bouncy bouncy. Throw in some action and evil siblings on both sides and watch for the explosions! While we seem to get almost insta-loves from the series lately, this in fact really isn't. It's just where the story starts that it seems like. Would have liked more build up between the boys.
2 1/2 stars!! I struggled with this book. Because the complete change of Tyson from book 2 to this one. He had a back story in book 2. Yet in this one it is completely different. Also, at the end of book 2 it looked like Tyson would end up with Caley, though somehow ended up with Justice. I hope the rest of the series isn't like this.
The story started out great but fell flat in the middle and didn't recover till the end. The love connection between Justice and Tyson was lukewarm..and their mating was too fast. Also, a little proofreading can improve this book.
So why is the title called Justice's little nibbler when he calls Tyson his little annoyance?
I usually don't like he Wayne County Wolves but enjoyed this one. It was alright but a bit typical.... I know I can't believe I'm saying that since I love her Lost Shifters
Why is this book based Justices little nibbler? I Don't remember Nibbler ever coming into play. it should have been called Little Annoyance since that's what Justice actually called his mate. ..
