I won this book from a Goodreads giveaway, after I found out I had won I was excited to receive the book and start reading it.

This is the first book written by Ms. Gray and I certainly hope she has plans to write more in the future. She takes you through her life and the mistakes she made. She is a survivor of abuse of abandonment, molestation, a near death experience and domestic violence. She was born in the projects in South Philadelphia to a family of 6 other children, she had her first son at the age of 16, got involved with the wrong kind of people, was swept into the world of drugs and drug dealers. Even though Ms. Gray had all the wrong things going on in her life she was able to rise above it all and break free from all of her adversities.

This book shows us what a person can do when they are determined to have a better life. I know that some people that read her book will wonder why it took her so long to leave her husband but she was in love with him and was terrified of him at the same time. She was physically and verbally abused by him. She also had no feeling of self worth for a long time. Once you don't see yourself as a person of worth it is hard to move ahead with your life. You will be happy for her as she makes her way back to feeling that she is a person of worth and does have something to contribute to others.

This is a story of courage and determination. We see what a person can do with the help of someone that cares about them. Te book is easy and is a quick read.

It’s a hard story for sure...But an unforgettable concise page-turner that begins with an insufferable childhood, extending to bumpy young adult experiences that get bumpier as Rayna sorts out a course for her life. Well told.

The grammar and writing are horrible. For a book about someone who is saved, the author seems to spend all of her time dating drug dealers.
