5 Dark twisty erotic stars!!

When I read that this independent author couldn't get her book published because it was 'Too Dark' the words 'Red rag and 'Bull' came to mind, and I just had to buy it. If you are looking for a romance with a murder mystery, vanilla sex, puppies and a HEA <---- Move along this is not the book you are looking for.

Sin Eater feel like a very big book, I loved the characters, Damien/Voro, Raphael, Lola, Vinnie and Claudia, it's sometimes dark and twisty, but the humour injected into the story by the characters is delightful. There is enough tension between the pages to keep you turning them and angst that you are willing the characters to succeed! It's intensely erotic including scenes of m/f and f/f. It's a dark delicious, bottom lip bitingly erotic PNR book, think J.R Wards 'Dark Angels' series only better. There is a cliff hanger at the end, but thankfully the second is immediately available to down load. Warning : This book contains graphic descriptions of violence and sex, and will keep you engrossed in it's pages way past your bed time.

Dark, twisted, erotic, thrilling, and at times...even funny. This book has it all!

The Sin Eater is pure evil, sort of like a vampire sent from hell and walking the earth to "eat the sins" of the world's worst degenerates. Just like a vampire, he's also very charming and magnetically attractive to the opposite sex...so much so, that even the most hardened feminist would find him hard to resist. While using his supernatural powers to pull out the evil past of human scum, he also finds time for "mortal pleasures". But it's the one woman he simply cannot have who catches his eye, and the challenge of having her is something he himself cannot resist.

The author does a great job developing the characters and the scenes. The story was so patiently put together, building the tension from chapter to chapter. It was almost like a cross between a dark crime thriller and a paranormal erotic romance. Entertaining from page to page, with cool twists and an awesome ending. Definitely recommend it to fans of this genre!

C.D. Breadner is a friend and fellow Freak.

I’m not sure I’ve ever read anything like Sin Eater. It’s genre-bending, I think. It’s paranormal/supernatural, definitely. It’s also a crime drama. It’s erotic, but not erotica. It’s romantic—or, at least, there’s love at the heart—but it’s not a romance. It’s dark, but it’s funny. It’s gritty—really gritty—but sweet.

It’s wonderful.

C.D. Breadner has created a rich, multidimensional world, with a complex, fascinating mythos and engaging characters who intersect in unexpected ways. My favorite characters, though, are Claudia and Voro.

Voro. A heroic anti-hero. What a…man. He is an absolutely fantastic character. I loved every second in his head. I didn’t want to leave.

ETA: corrected title.

Dark, disturbing, steamy, humorous--this book was a very entertaining read. Breadner creatively weaves a vibrant and dense plot, and draws you in with rich characters. A provocative exploration of the underworld and the entities walking amongst us (or more than "walking"), this book pushes the boundaries of genres. Part erotica, part supernatural thriller, Sin Eater leaves you wanting more.

A wonderful supernatural thriller with some steamy sexy bits shaken in to add some spice. Breadner draws you into a unique world where you find yourself rooting for a villain, but is he really? Should we even like him as a main character... this all flashes back to Dexter, the villain we love. And are the people she determines as pawns of the dark forces of the book bad, or victims. Every character has their strengths and flaws and, mixed with some violent episodes, they show their true colours. There are lots of twists and a nice revealing ending. The sexy bits challenged me at times as it wasn't something I was used to reading in such, ahem, graphic detail, but a good author DOES challenge their reader at times, and I am glad Breadner did challenge me. As she wrote in her message to me when she signed it: "Read the sexy bits carefully." A good note.
A wonderful first book. Can't wait to read more.

Housekeeping...a few minor oops on some words, nothing of consequence and certainly nothing that interrupted this great story. There was one spot where Vorum was called Essum - at least I think and that brings me to the reason this didn't get five stars from me...

Story-line and plot is beyond original, at least in my experience and it kept me spell-bound wanting to know what was going to happen. But to be honest, I was on the edge of confused as to how the relationship worked between the various humans and the other creatures and how they were connected. There was a lot of stuff going on.

Looking forward to the next one and maybe I'll have a better understanding of the characters' relationships as I go along.

Such an excellent story. It all fits in well, you never find yourself thinking "that wouldn't work", and I like that they are all fallible; as in they can get injured and don't keep going like superheroes. Lots of toe curling sex, very excellently written. Love the premise and the way it all fits together.

From the first page through the last C D Breadner's characters take you through her story. She draws you in, makes you hold your breath at times and shudder at others. She has created a story that leaves you unable to put the book down and longing for more.

This book was just okay. I think I went in thinking something totally different about the plot provided in the synopsis. The overall story was okay just a bit too drawn out.
