All of us have secrets. Jany is keeping a secret from Damien. Samantha is keeping a secret from Jany. Everything explodes, pulling Damien and Jany away from a lovely sail around the world. Follow their heartache and personal journeys in the much anticipated sequel to Mohawk Moon.
N Kuhn grew up in a small town in Western New York. Having spent her afternoons outside or with a book, she grew up with a love of reading and writing. Her mother and grandmother fully encouraged this in her. Many years later, after a husband and children, she made a promise to her dying grandmother to fulfill her dream of being an author. Her grandmother lived to see N's name in print. This was a turning moment for her. Driven by ambition and a promise made, she has since published several titles including the Mohawk Trilogy, Tucked In, Buffalo Rocker and the Tricks series.
N Kuhn has several other books that will be out later this year. When she's not writing, she is in college for a Business degree, runs her blog, bartends and promotes for other authors. Family and coffee are her two staples in life.
The shelf I put it on should be self-explanatory. Once again, N. Kuhn does not disappoint. I am left wanting more. I can't wait for the next book to come out.
The story just gets better and better. I'm dying to read the next installment. Jany and Damien just seem to have a dynamic relationship built to last. If only I could find that in real life! *sigh* Great read!
Wow! This picked up where Mohawk Moon left off, a few things revealed and things don't look so good for Jany & Damien...looking forward to seeing how this journey ends!
I have not read Mohawk Moonthe first novel in this series. Kuhn takes readers like me into account ensuring that Mohawk Sunrise can easily work as a stand-alone novel. The subsequent introduction to Damien and Jany is quickly and yet thoroughly done and in a manner so intriguing that one cannot help but want to continue with the story.
Much of the novel is told in present tense. Present tense makes for an interesting challenge to an author who chooses to maintain first person present for characters of both genders. Each character is uniquely constructed and distinct in their voice. Jany is a bit Penelope Pitstop, the innocent in danger. Samantha is the epic baddie who just wants to see blood, that will make her feel better. Dimitri is the character who just wants his money. Damien is the hero type but will he fly in and save the day?
There is a lot of "excitement" going on in pants in Mohawk Sunrise. Just for my own curiousity, I did a word search for excitement in the novel and counted how many times it was used in a sexual sense. The grand total is 13. Like "groin," which logged in at a grand total of 3 times, "excitement" seemed to be used a lot more than it was. This is not to say it was distracting but more that there's a lot of sexuality, if not sex, in the narrative. Erotic moments are more frequent than graphic giving Mohawk Sunrise a solid listing in the romance category. The novel ends with a figurative bang and great promise for the next novel in the series.
If you're a fan or romance and intrigue and don't mind a little sex, Mohawk Sunrise should be your next read.
This is a quick read that will keep you captivated throughout. It is intense and fast paced in a very natural and inviting manner. Kuhn keeps you in suspense while hoping that this brilliant couple will get together and then throws a huge and unexpected twist at you, but it definitely works with the story as a whole. You never feel like she’s throwing something at you out of left field.
Kuhn’s natural and personal writing style make you feel right at home within the pages of this novel. As a reader you feel yourself walking alongside the characters, helping them throughout their trials. You can visualise everything clearly. The intensity of the novel is transmitted to you, and you run a gamut of emotions while reading.
Kuhn flips perspectives in a way that really gets you into the heads of the 4 main characters. You get to know them much more intimately than if she’d done the same thing while writing in the 3rd person. You get to know some of the characters from the first novel much better in this instalment. The new characters that Kuhn introduces are also well developed and intriguing. They round out the cast very nicely.
Although this novel could have used another round with the editor, it didn’t detract too greatly from the story as a whole and definitely left me wanting more. I can’t wait to dive into the sequel and into other works by this intriguing author.
Mohawk Sunrise starts where Mohawk Moon ended. Damien and Janelle are in Rome enjoying some quality time together. They moment is short lived when Dimitri shows up wanting to finish what he started. Damien and Janelle realize that someone has to be helping Dimitri because the only ones who knew exactly where they were are her sister and her sister’s fiancé. Janelle doesn’t believe it but she might have to face the fact that her own sister betrayed her. Samatha hates Janelle for leaving her and instead of just talking to Janelle and letting her know how she felt, she wants revenge. Will Damien and Janelle be able to escape death or will it once again come knocking at their door? “Mohawk Sunrise” is a good read. There were moments that happened that I didn’t see coming and never expected. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good quick read with a lot of betrayal and some good sibling rivalry.
Mohawk Sunrise picks right up where Mohawk Moon left off however Mohawk Sunrise ended in MUCH MORE of a cliffhanger than Mohawk Moon. Damien and Janelle are getting much needed R&R in Rome until an unexpected visitor arrives, then all he** breaks loose! Samantha shows up as well with her mixed feelings and hatred for Janelle. Loved this installment of the series as much if not more than I did Mohawk Moon and I can't wait to read Storm of the Mohawk to see what else Nicole Kuhn has in store for Janelle and Damien. Great series that also work as individual stand-alone books.
Action packed from start to finish. I was never bored. The plot from Mohawk Moon thickened in Mohawl Sunrise. Great characters. I love to hate the villians, and I hate to love them. The book ended leaving me wanting more. I can't wait for the next book to see what happens! N. Kuhn is a talented storyteller.
Good story and much better/cleaner editing than the first book. I wasn't as interested in this story, as the plot was pretty transparent so there was no real tension for me. Good story though, and I was curious enough to stay with it.
I enjoyed Mohawk Sunrise by N Kuhn, but really, can't Janelle ever get a break? This silly Scepter has been such a curse. Once again, family bonds and trust are the themes in this very suspenseful book.

Completely loved this one! The story line was enjoyable and the cliffhanger at the end was awesome! I look forward to the next book in this series! Thank you N. Kuhn for a wonderful story!
